If you are looking for a quiet, laid back and relaxing vacation this home and setting is ideal. Charming four bedroom, two bathroom, non-smoking, Oneida lakefront house with private sandy beach, on a shallow bay. The two-story house faces west, showcasing gorgeous sunsets over the water. Whether from the beach, the lawn or from inside the house, you are sure to enjoy the views.
Turning Stone Casino, Sylvan Beach, the Boxing Hall of Fame and the town of Canastota with grocery store, shops and restaurants are all within a ten minute drive. This property has just about every amenity you could want for a fun and fabulous lakeside vacation. Kitchen has an eat-in area in addition to the dining room. Full sized washer and dryer. The living room, dining room, porch bedroom, full bath and enclosed porch complete the first floor. The second floor includes three bedrooms and a full bath. The garage features a covered patio for grilling or relaxing out of the sun. The private sandy beach is ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and kayaking. There is a gradual increase in depth of water from the shoreline and the bottom of the lake is sandy, providing optimal swimming conditions for children. The portable firepit, makes for a casual evening of fun after a day in the sun. The house is located on a paved dead-end street. Great for bike riding and walking.

pleasantly pleased

We were so happy to walk in and find ourselves in a very well kept home. I was looking to rent a home that made my family feel good about being there. We felt fantastic! it wasn't just a beach rental it is someone's home that they have opened up the experience of living on the lake to others. I would without a doubt, stay here again. Thank you so much for making our vacation such an easy, comfortable treat!

Best kept secret!

Our priority was to find a rental with a nice sandy beach with shallow water for our children to swim in. I shopped for hours looking for that special place when I found this wonderful summer home here on Onidea Lake. We have now stayed here for our second summer and plan on retuning again next year. Not only is this place great for kids, but the sunset is the highlight of the evening. Night after night, we sat overlooking the beach and watched the sun set over the water, it's just stunning to see. That's what I miss the most when I think about our last vacation. The house is a real charm with all it's amenities. This place is an older home that is well kept, clean and full of personality. We truly enjoyed staying here and plan to revisit year after year.

Wonderful, relaxing vacation

We just returned home from a wonderful week at Sharry and Chris's lake front house. When you walk in the house the first thing you will notice is the big picture window overlooking Oneida Lake. You will be pleasantly surprised at how spacious the place is. Everything you need is there... linens, towels,dishes, paper products,washer/dryer, detergent.. ok, you do need to bring your own food! Outside is great, too! Large grassy yard leads down to the sandy beach. For those of us that prefer shade there is plenty of that , and you can still be near those on the beach. You can sit and watch the water fowl and boats by day and be treated to the most beautiful sunsets you can imagine over the lake during he evening. You can't go wrong by choosing this wonderful vacation spot.

Chris and I are small business owners in Southern Vermont, where we live full time. We love the mountainous beauty of Vermont and we also love spending time at the lake with family and friends. My family spent summers on Lewis Point when I was a child and it has been wonderful for my husband and me to be able to carry on that tradition. Over the years, we have spent long days on the beach and in the lake. Many wonderful memories have been made in this very special place over the years!

Why they chose this property

My aunt & uncle bought this house in the early 1960's because of the private sandy beach and shallow bay.... just perfect for kids! And the sunsets are just the best!
