Third time we have stayed in "Serenity" - and we will be back. The house is well maintained, has a heaps of space for parking (including the big boat), all the required amenities and is lovely and quiet.Huge plus is that Ben the owner installs aircon and heap pumps for a living, so it is lovely and cool in summer and (no doubt)very warm in winter. Means that you sleep so much better - the fishing lads took to having an afternoon siesta when time allows.Alison is wonderful as the online host - stays in touch and you always know that nothing is a problem!10/10 recommendation

Property is in great location a short walk from the beach. The property had all the basic requirements for a holiday stay. A good place to explore the Coromandel peninsula.

Why they chose this property

This house once belonged to a dear friend of my husband’s family, Uncle Harold. Uncle Harold was like a grandfather to my husband (Ben) after his father and grandfather passed away.

Ben grew up in Cooks Beach and has many fond childhood memories of weekend visits at Uncle Harold’s. After Uncle Harold passed away Ben tried to buy this house in 2013, unfortunately he was unsuccessful. Shortly after this he moved to Auckland, where we met and our love story began.

In 2018 this house came back on the market and by some miracle we were able to buy it. Like in one of our favourite movies “The Castle” we describe this place as having “serenity”. Needless to say this house holds a lot of sentimental value. There have been many happy memories made here, with many more to be made in the future. We hope that you enjoy your stay and feel the same “serenity” that we do.
