The cabin was even better than the pictures showed. Everything met our expectations. The hotwater tank could be a little bigger, but other than that everything was perfect!
It was a good place to stay for the weekend. I also liked the fact that it was located so close to the Pickleville Theater. We ended up walking there and didn’t have to fight for parking. It was nice time.
Relaxing friendly area. Lots to do and see by beautiful Bear Lake, adding to our wonderful week with children and grandchildren. Owner and manager always helpful. Would highly recommend the cabins to all.
Negatives: Certain things about the property made us question whether the cabin was previously cleaned or at best not cleaned thoroughly. The sheets had a few dirt stains on them and the bed sheets did not appear to have been changed. The sheets were wrinkled and the pillows were out of sorts which made us question whether they were previously changed. There were two half used toilet paper rolls on the back of the toilet and an empty roll on the dispenser. Maybe the cleaning crew just forgot to put the new one on, but it just seemed odd. The floor had sand and gravel pebbles throughout. Positives: The original cabin we were booked for was not ready so we were upgraded to a bigger cabin with two separate beds. That was a bonus, and we were charged the lesser price, which we appreciated. It was within walking distance of Pickleville Playhouse, which was on our list of things to do. The cabin was between the beach (6 minute drive) and the town (4 minute drive). The area was quiet, yet on the main drive. Overall, good stay. I think the cleaners need to do a better job, but we really enjoyed our stay.
The construction of the cabin is mediocre and the fan in the bathroom didn’t work but the location worked great for us - we were visiting with family about 6 minutes south at Rendezvous Breach. I would have liked more hooks for hanging tall clothes. It is next door to a custard/gelato shop and we took advantage of the proximity.
THE WORSTThis listing is blatantly deceptive. It says you can walk to Ideal Beach, but doesn't tell you it's private property and cabin guests aren't allowed to use it. It was filthy-toothpaste spatters on the faucet, soap left from previous guest, dead beetles in the linen, and no hand towels provided. The single review that says it was very clean had to be a friend of the host. We were given ONE sleeping pillow, and it had a dirty pillowcase, so we assumed the sheets were dirty too. Requested another pillow and clean cases. we put our personal blanket on top of the bed and slept on that. holes in the curtain large enough to compromise privacy. the floor most definitely hadn't been swept in a very long time. the fridge made a LOUD popping noise day and night, and it would startle us to death in the middle of the night. We messaged the host, Michael Bales, SEVERAL times but got no response. The mattress was the worst. this experience was so bad we left a day early. If I could give zero stars I would. DON'T rent these cabins!

We showed up and cabin was not cleaned yet at check in time. Contacted the owner and he moved us to another cabin. We went there and about 45 minutes later owner called and said someone had rented that cabin now and we would need to move back to the other place and he said cleaners were on there way to clean it. We agreed. Owner said he would reimburse us $50.00 for our troubles. Now several weeks later I gave him time to honor his promise and no reimbursement. Owner lied. Then we go back to the original cabin and the bed sheets were dirty. Cleaners made the bed and did not replace the sheets. Talk about awful! I called the owner and finally cleaners came back, we had to leave while they changed the bed.
Overall terrible place to stay. Cleaning a place is not that hard. I understand things happen once in a while, but owner of this cabin does not keep his word. Would never stay here again!

Communication Needs Improvement
We were assigned a different cabin than we booked and that cabin had a toilet leak. We ended up in the cabin we booked, but there was no remote to turn on heat in either cabin and only a thin blanket which was better than the first cabin that had no blankets. The booking needs more description including whether or not blankets are provided and wi-if information. We reached out to host multiple times and thankfully they were responsive. With a few improvements this could be a nice stay. The location is near beautiful bear lake which is breathtaking.

Cold as hell at night
Most of the lights were out. No blankets and the air conditioning was set to 68•. Not even a coffee filter in the place. On line booking stated there was a $200 refund at checkout yet no one around to take care of it. So no refund. Froze and couldn’t even make a pot of coffee in the nearly dark cabin. No pillows. Hand to contact them 3 times before given the access code. On the other hand the area was very nice.
Cute little studio cabin for 2-3 people. There was a Q bed, a couch, table was really small, small TV, microwave and a mini fridge. There are no toiletries other than TP so bring your own. Place was very clean. We would stay here again. My only complaint is that the mirror above the bathroom vanity is hung really low. If you're shorter than 5'6 it probably wont be an issue but I'm 5'9 and had to bend down quite a bit.
When we got there an hour after our check in time. The room had not been cleaned there were dirty towels on the floor the bed was not changed and the garbage was full. We tried to call the manager and only got a voicemail that was full. It took them a full day to get our room cleaned and once we finally got to stay at our room there was an awful smell of sewage that would come and go threw out our stay. Total bummer for such a cute place.
The shower will not just off and leaks allot all the time. It needs to be repaired.
Thanks

Cabin stay
The location was great. We have stayed before and enjoyed it. This time not as much. I don’t believe it got cleaned from the last guest. There were no towels at all. I had to use paper towels. The bathroom was not clean. I had to clean the sink to use it. Just wasn’t very impressed.
Nice clean little cabin, cozy yet spacious. Quick and easy check in process. Wifi can be slow but it’s a surprisingly busy area, so it’s understandable. Would come again :)
It's like a hotel room but in a cabin form. It satisfied our needs for the night. The linens and towels smell clean and good. We only hope the pillows are puffier/plumper or more than the two. Pretty quiet at night. Perfect for a night or 2. But make sure to bring your toiletries and blow dryer with you. We will be happy to stay here again.
we ended up cancelling since it was not ready and he could not seem to get it done for us
It should be a great property but the owner was very leaky/ He messaged us that he was having problems with cleaning and could we come a little late. But when we got there, it was still dirty. He made excuses and a neighbor showed up to clean during covid without great cleaning products-was not going to change the blankets. An hour later we were still not in and requested to get our money back. He agreed but I have been fighting for almost 2 months to get it all back. Would not reccomend.
Getting somewhere to stay at Bear Lake isn’t easy. This looked like a decent option. It was clean and tidy and is very quiet—in spite of being right next to the main boulevard. It would have been nicer if the table and chairs shown in the photo had been here. For those not familiar with keypad locks— to lock the door when you go out, pull on the door and press any key. It took a while for me to figure out that I needed pull the door tight to the jamb. Also I suggest that you not leave your toothbrush out uncovered in the bathroom—as I left mine sitting on top of the plastic container my replacement brush came in and attracted several earwigs. 😉.
All in all, it was a pleasant step up from camping!
everything was clean when we got there and the place was just like the ad.

just ok
Ok for the price. If you're afraid of earwigs watch out for this place! they were everywhere! Cabins were cute and the shower was great but they're on a busy street across from the lake with no view or easy lake access (though in general lake access in the town is pretty minimal and crowded anyway). The bed in our cabin was so loose it fell apart 3 times while we were there (while just sitting on the edge) and we had to have 4 people to put it back together and the comforter had definitely not been washed (Cheetos handprints). The small tv was broken and we mentioned it the first day and were told we would have a replacement the next day but never heard any more from them. I'd suggest picking one of the other listings he offers with a kitchen if you do choose these
