Great communication and very accomodating!
Beautiful place and a beautiful location! Ryan was super helpful and responded quickly to our questions. He also proactively reached out to us when he learned a neighbor would be doing some excavation during our stay and provided an early check-in/late checkout to make amends (even though neighbors are very much not under his control!). The work crew was also very nice and not too noisy. The only downside, but not quite worth docking a star, is that the house doesn't actually have internet. "You can use your phone's cell connection" doesn't really count as internet, so that amenity should probably be removed from the listing 😅 It wasn't a big deal for us since we wanted to disconnect, but might be a surprise for someone who wants to work from the cabin. Thank you for sharing your home, Ryan!!

Wonderful Family Vacation
Once again, our week at Priest Lake was spectacular! The cabin was spotless, very well stocked, and was perfect for our extended family of 6 + dog. We spent the majority of our waking hours outside kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, skiing, fishing, and just hanging out and catching up. The location cannot be beat, and Ryan is the perfect host. Looking forward to returning next year.

Great house with a dock on Cavanaugh Bay
This is a perfect cabin for a week on Priest. It's really close to Coolin, Cavanaugh Bay Resort, camping, hiking, boating, waterfalls, etc. The house was old but very clean and well appointed. It's definitely a summer cabin with some age to it. It's right at the head of some great hiking trails and the dock is easily accessible from the property. There isn't a huge slope down to the water like with some properties. Suggestions: The cabin needs a coffee grinder. An upgrade to a Blu-Ray player would help. The Internet at this location is terrible. Suggest upgrading the Verizon hotspot to AT&T 5G. You'll pay the same/similar and the service will be much faster and more reliable. Very important for those of us with work that we can't get away from!

Cavanaugh cabin at Priest Lake
Easy to rent; easy to find thanks to instructions. Cabin was clean and owner , Ryan, made it very easy to communicate; answered questions I had quickly. He let me know cabin was not winterized and may have to use wood stove which we did. He was so thoughtful, had fire going in wood stove when we arrived therefore cabin was warm and welcoming. He also had plenty of firewood available on deck which was necessary as it was cold. Thank you Ryan! The beds were comfortable; even the adults who normally wake early slept in. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed; only item I could not find was a spatula, but not a big deal. The view of lake was nice; the lapping water sound was wonderful. Overall, nice place to get away to. Thank you Ryan!

Perfect week at the Lake
We had a wonderful week at Ryan's cabin on Cavanaugh Bay. The location can't be beat and the cabin was absolutely charming and perfect for our needs. Everything was very clean, well stocked, and super well organized. We were there in September and had a mix of weather, but plenty of room to spread out both inside and outside. Nice big deck, lots of storage, wonderful picnic table and fire pit areas, large, sturdy dock, and nice small beach area that made getting into and out of kayaks a breeze. The cabin is fairly private, but the few neighbors we encountered when out and about were quite friendly. And it's just a short walk, paddle, or boat ride down to Cavanaugh's restaurant - a great spot for food and drinks. Also, Ryan was very easy to communicate with when we had a couple of questions. We are looking forward to staying there again!

Why they chose this property

Our family has enjoyed many family vacations and summer weekends over the years at Priest Lake falling in love with its peaceful beauty and crystal clear waters. It really is the Crown Jewel of Idaho. Though a large northern lake, it warms up in the summer for pleasant boating and swimming experience. We love the fact that the lake is so large and unencumbered devoid of an overcrowded boating and vacation experience. Lower Priest Lake at 19 miles long offers 70 miles of shoreline and a wide variety of water activities. Area resorts and marinas offer boat, kayak, canoe, pontoon rentals and gas. Of course in the winter the snowy, secluded majestic mountains beckon the snowmobilers in the family. Cross country skiing and snowmobiling are popular winter activities.
