We had a great two-night stay while hiking in the area. The house was well equipped for cooking, and we loved using the fire pit for s’mores at night. The beds were very comfortable with high-quality bedding, and the property was pet-friendly, which made our two dogs very happy too. A cozy and comfortable stay overall!
Great house, enough room to spread out in. Love the 2 bathrooms. It's in a quiet area but the little stores around the corner do have whatever you need (within reason). Caretakers are right across the street in case you need anything.
Cozy little cabin close to everything we needed. Lovely private outdoor space which really added to the experience. Good communication with Troy. Internet a bit wonky at times, but we worked it out!

The beds were comfortable.. that is where the good review ends. The next door neighbors have roosters so be prepared to wake up at 4:30am, the pillows in one of the bedrooms had lots of hair on it, the jetted tub had black hair all over it. (See pictures), etc. It was just not as clean as one would like. Then the pictures look like you are across the street from the lake, but you are not. There is about a mile walk to get to the water so you NEED a truck to haul the kayaks. We had a car so no go for one of the #1 things I wanted to do. I even contacted the owners to ask about hauling the kayaks and was told you need a truck, good to know! If you are there to have a step above a hotel room, this is fine due to the washer and dryer and the space. If you want something clean, close to the lake, and quiet, this is not it. If I could redo our booking, I would have.

Needs some TLC outside
Great proximity to the Lake and Mt Saint Helens trails. Very close to a conscience store and bar/grill. The garden and outdoor space needed some spring cleaning and the outside patio chair cushions were ripped and dirty. Inside was cozy and we had everything we needed. We were disappointed there was only a jetted bath tub and not a hot tub like advertised. Owner was quick to respond when we got there and answered our questions. Our overall stay was good and it beat sleeping in a tent.
We had one of the best times at this small little gem! Cozy tucked away with plenty of privacy. The way the house is set up outside was a hit for me. As I like to spend most of my time outside. Although it was small it was very functional.. The house keeper lives nearby and gave us some great info on what to see and how to get there! She and her husband are very nice people!!! Would definitely stay there again! Host was great answering questions right away with a quick phone call. The beauty of this area and the location of this house is exactly how I pictured it would be..!! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a get away in the mountains!! 5 stars all the way!!!
This was a great location walking distance to the Cougar store and Cougar bar and grill. Near the Ape Caves (15 min), Lahar Point and Lava Canyon (20 min), plus only and hour to Lewis Falls. the listing was as pictured, cozy, big enough for us and our teens. we had everything we needed plus the firepit was nice and the area was quiet. Great jumping off point for Mt. St Helens exploration and the host was super responsive.
The host was very accommodating and easy to connect with when we had an issue. The house was very clean, but also very fragrant. (If you are scent-sensitive, it will be overwhelming.) There's also a rooster right next door, so no need to worry about an alarm clock. The area is beautiful, and people are friendly.
We had a great weekend stay in the Cougar House, close to great hikes and gorgeous scenery. The house was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our visit. We walked to breakfast at the Lone Pine Resort and dinner at the Cougar Bar & Grill- both great places with friendly staff. We're already planning another trip to explore the area more.
Had a great time at the cabin! Was very well situated and lots of room for 4 adults. One room has a large bed and a bunk bed and the other has a queen size bed with an ensuite. Cooking with the hot plates and the tabletop oven went well and it was nice to have a small dishwasher too. Would love to return in summer when we can enjoy the lake!
