A dream family vacation
This was truly a dream. My parents, my little pup and I spent an amazing week at the Great Pond retreat in July.. We got very lucky with the weather . The house had everything we could’ve ask for and more. It was set up with love and we could tell the owners put a lot of thought into every detail. Gene was very responsive and helpful. We all relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. We loved it so much that immediately after getting home we booked the house for the next year’s summer vacation.

Fabulous setting and comfortable home
A great place to stay with so many amenities, a high quality home on a gorgeous remote lake setting. The biggest surprise was a 1500+ pound bull moose running full speed crashing through the forest. The fall colors were just starting along with impressive sunrises. The listing should emphasize remote area with no cell phone coverage. There is wifi, but spotty...email is fine. The house has a land line but no long distance capability for inbound/outbound calls. A member of our party was seriously injured on the property. In the emergency we reached the county sherriff, who then summoned emergency services (arrived one hour later). The situation was made worse by having to drive 15 minutes to find cell phone service in order to coordinate additional ongoing assistance to our injured party. The generosity of the owner during and after the emergency was exceptional and appreciated. This is a great young family get away or for a romantic getaway but future renters should communicate closely with the owner if you have any reservations about renting a remote property. Additionally, the listing should explain when the dock is stored on shore. We learned after making our final lease payment that fishing dramatically closes to many species on October 1. Our stay was negatively affected by this when we had expected a two-week fishing experience from Washington state to remote Maine. Although our stay was marred by an emergency, I highly recommend this property. We loved it.

Fall visit
This property is very nice and as advertised! We had a great visit. The kitchen is as well equipped as any vrbo I've experienced. I note that google maps sent us to a property down the road based on the address provided, but we figured it out.

Honeymoon Getaway
We had a great stay. The access to water, nature, and a secluded oasis was the much needed break we needed. Property had all the amenities inside that we needed. It was extremely quiet and dark outside in evening. It was very easy to get rest. The property was slightly not as pictured due to seasonal change for some of it but the hot tub was different than the one pictured and the cabin has shed a bit since pictured. The cottage did have a lot of character and we would book again. The location an hour from Airport in Bangor, Ellsworth, and Acadia National Park made it a great location once you figure out which driveway it is down. Did try to reach out to host with no luck, but we were able to figure it out on our own. We were away from it all, but could easily get where we wanted to go, so all in all a great trip!

Hanging on Great Pond
I stayed with my hubby my son and his family and we all absolutely enjoyed it all. It was a beautiful property enjoyed sitting and enjoying that great fire pit and pond. Was the perfect place to get the R&R that we were looking for. Our 3 year old grandson had a grand time at the pond. He caught his first fish a great time. Thank you....Debbie
