Run!!! Not a cabin for families!!!
I spent the first 2 hours cleaning the entire cabin. There was mouse poop EVERYWHERE!!! It was on the countertops, on the stove, in all of the kitchen drawers and cupboards, in the bathroom cupboards (mice ate the toilet paper) there was a huge mouse nest behind the microwave. Mouse poop on the beds. Dirty used Band-Aids on the shower floor, empty shampoo bottles on the floor, hair binders also on the shower floor. No outlet covers on the outlets, exposed wiring, no vent covers on the floor heat vents so jagged metal ductwork is protruding out of the floor right next to the dinning table, in a high flow walking area where children were eating/playing, same issue in the kids bedroom, I had to cover the sharp ductwork with rugs so no one cut their feet. Garbage cans were full of garbage, there was a bag of garbage left outside. Dirty laundry on the floor. I had to wash ALL the bedding after searching for it, I finally found sheets to make the beds in a tote tucked in the back of a closet under a bunch of junk and more mouse poop. There were a few random blankets washed and folded to use but no where near enough bedding to make the beds. There is only ONE bunkbed, not two like the profile shows. There is NO internet like the profile shows. I messaged owner about the internet asked where the internet router was and he told me where the router was and asked "is it not there?" suggesting someone took it or some garbage like that. There is no cable TV like the profile shows. I did message the owner about all of these issues, they blamed the mess on a cleaning company but Im pretty sure there is no cleaning company, the neighbors only saw him coming and leaving the cabin prior to us arriving. I did receive a partial refund for all the issues, Im still waiting another refund for the pet deposit because we did not bring a pet. What was refunded does not cover this disaster cabin. Because there was no internet I had to use 4 days of PTO so Im really annoyed about that. The outdoor area was nice, the cabin has really nice access to the lake, the yard was nice, there is a nice beach area the kids enjoyed, there is a dock (very weedy off the end of the dock though). We spent most of out time outside and on the pontoon we brought so luckily we didnt have to spend too much time in the cabin. Oh, and the cracks between the couch cushions are completely disgusting too. I wish I could post all the pictures I took. Not worth the price at all.

Rush Lake cabin
Cabin was dirty and not cleaned prior to occupying. Gas for grill was empty, No Wifi on the property. Property ( outside) was fantastic very well kept up. Neighbors were great and very accommodating with local information. Beach was very weedy, and daily cleaning of beach from weeds was required ..Disappointed for price that was paid for rental.

Terrible Property
This property was dirty, unkempt and in disrepair. We did not feel it was safe to bring our family with small children to stay for several days.

Fun weekend
We weren’t at the property a lot. We brought our pontoon and were able to put it in very close to the property and tie up at the dock for the weekend. The location on the lake is great we love to boat to dinner. He left us the lily pad so we didn’t need to bring ours up which was nice. Flat property to the lake is great to bring out the cooler and towels, etc. we played games at the kitchen table w our teen boys which we don’t get a lot of opportunity to do otherwise. we enjoyed our time there.

Last week in july
Brian was very responsive when we reserved the dates in feb. Closer to the time it was difficult getting information. The property is in an amazing location but it is very run down. There are many minor repairs that should have been done, some are safety related. Check out info was not provided. Dishes not done at check in. Kitchen was well stocked but some food left in the refrigerator had spoiled. Would have been nice to know what type of coffee maker they had. We did enjoy the dock and yard.

An AVID fisherman, I love my cabin. It's a home away from home where my kids love to tube, fish, play in the sand, fish, learn to surf and, you guessed it, FISH!

Why they chose this property

The low elevation is easy on the legs. It's literally right on the water. Being in the bay, you get light boat traffic and the nights by the fire watching the stars is something you need to experience, not hear about. If you like night life, it's just a mile or so from the Wharf and just another half mile from the infamous Moonlight Bay. Come see for yourself!
