This gem was purchased from Sears & Roebuck catalog in 1909. It was delivered by rail and constructed on site to detailed plans. All wood flooring & woodwork is the original heart of pine as well as the lighting in the living and dining room.

Watch the river otters play on the banks of the river. Look for manatees. Pelicans perched on the forgotten docks from the Shrimp boats outlined by the setting sun

We start our day by watching the sun rise over the ocean a short 2 miles east to the Atlantic Ocean. It is a great bike ride to the beach from town. Beautiful homes & two city parks line Atlantic Blvd on your journey. Main beach provides activity center for festivals, concerts, putt-putt, volleyball, surfing and fun. In addition to Main beach, there are over 20 free beach access points along Fletcher Ave.

Avoid this one.
Expected the idiosyncrasies of an older home but not the lack of care and cleanliness. For example, the shower caddy (holds soap, shampoo etc) was coated with soap scum and hair. Didn’t look like it was cleaned in years. Could have easily been replaced. The longer we were there the more we were disgusted. The back patio looks out over garbage cans and dirt - not what was shown in pictures. We travel a lot and this was the first time using VRBO. Have had discussions with them asking for help to get some money back as we left after 10 days out of 31 reserved. No word yet.

Fabulous Historic Home
We stayed in Linda's wonderful home in the historic district of Amelia Island known as Fernandina Beach. We loved the location we could easily walk to all kinds of restaurants and shops. The neighborhood is beautiful surrounded by historic homes on large and lush properties. It is a quiet neighborhood. The house has a creaky charm as it is over 100 years old, however it is very well furnished and very comfortable. The main floor has an extention TV room with a wrap around couch which is very comfortable if you feel like staying home and watching movies. I guess the proof is in the pudding as we are booked to go again for another month in 2017. Sincerely Charles and Liz

Loved Island Charm
I loved this home. It was charming. The location was wonderful, close to unique shops & restaurants. Everyone we met in this coastal town was so friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come back. We enjoyed bike riding in Fort Clinch & visiting the uncrowded beaches. Can't wait to come back.

We came to beautiful Amelia Island in 1998. Once we saw the downtown, we knew that is where we wanted to live. Our house was sadly neglected and we were able to bring our family to live and enjoy her once again. Over the years, we have owned businesses right on Centre Street. It was wonderful to walk or bike to work. The people of Fernandina Beach made us feel welcome.
Currently we are living in the mountains of North Carolina. While we are on our farm we wanted to let guests enjoy our Island Dream as we have for so many years

Why they chose this property

Our home was a Sears & Roebuck catalog home built in 1909. We loved the history of the era and her beautiful craftsmanship. We have always tried to make her look her best and treat her with respect.

What makes this property unique

Location, Location, Location. 1 block to the energy of Centre Street and 2 short miles to beautiful beaches. Right in the middle of the 50 block historic district and right next to the Silk stocking district on N 6th Street.
Although it is so close to Centre Street it is so quiet and peaceful with the mature trees and beautiful homes & churches surrounding us.
