About this property
Pool Side Guest House On Lake Hudson Near Pryor
Beautiful two-story home on the shores of Lake Hudson, one of Oklahoma's premier fishing lakes. Our Guest House is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom newly remodeled home with a screened porch overlooking the pool.
The upstairs open room has 2 queen beds with a a separate air conditioner/heater and ceiling fan. There is a closet and dresser for your clothes. The carpeted floors help muffle the sound of little running feet. Beautiful views of our 5 acre resort can be seen out the large windows.
Downstairs has an open living/dining/ kitchen. The kitchen has an electric stove, microwave and refrigerator. Fully equipped with pots/pans, dishes, glassware, crock pot, mixer, and toaster. Living area has a small sofa and is a comfortable place to sit and take in all the unique decorations and antiques. The round dining table can be the central gathering place for board games, playing cards or working puzzles. Wall mounted TV with DISH.
If you are an early riser, the second bedroom suite with King bed is for you. There is a thick, hardwood door to help with noise, separating your suite from the rest of the house. There is also a separate entry door from the screened porch. Sit outside in the morning to have your coffee and listen to the birds sing. Inside, is a queen bed, TV with DISH, dresser, kitchenette with mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot. Your separate bath has a walk in shower.
Outside you have a grill, picnic table and a shady area to enjoy the view and watch your family. You can have an open fire in the provided fire pits, so don't forget to bring the fixings for s'mores! Have little ones? Don't worry about the pool being so close as it is fenced for their safety. Your shady, family area is fenced/protected on three sides, so they will have a safe place to play.
Volleyball, kayaking, horseshoe pitching and bird watching are just a few of the ways to enjoy the property. Great fishing* off the shoreline.
Need more room? We have a bunk house with two additional bathrooms, kitchen, TV and air conditioning. It is set up with table and chairs for dining or playing games. RV sites, cabins, two large vacation homes and camping area available for your friends or family who would like to join you.
Large storm shelter.

About the host
Hosted by Horseshoe Inn and Campground

After 25 years traveling with the Air Force, I retired in 2002. My dream was to have a place on the lake and host travelers/families. I bought the property in 2002 and started working/building to that end. We built a Cabin in 2013. Added a Victorian Cottage in 2014 and we finished remodeling the Guest House in May of 2015.
We purchased the adjoining property with dreams of opening an INN and building an RV park. It has taken a lot of work and determination to make our dream a reality. I wanted a place where families could come, relax, enjoy the lake and just reconnect with each other.
I love to entertain, decorate, garden, go junkin' and act as 'camp counselor' during the holiday weekends. You will find antiques and horseshoes used to decorate throughout the resort. I love rusty tin and it is used on ceilings, walls or back splashes in the Bunk House as well as our other properties.
We have started hosting country weddings with lots of burlap, red bandannas, hay bales and big wagon wheels as decorations. We have a beautiful, shady spot picked out on the lake shore for the ceremony and the reception area can be in the bunk house or pavilion.
Come and share our dream and RELAX!

Why they chose this property
I love the park like setting. It is very shady and peaceful. After 25 years of living on or near Air Force bases, I didn't want to hear any more jets, fighters or sirens. I wanted quiet, and I found it here.
When we added 800 sq ft to the Guest House, I wanted lots of space for families to spread out in a little footprint. Being poolside offers lots of advantages. You can watch the kids from the shade of the screened porch and still be with the non-swimming family members.
And since I love to decorate, I really had fun with this property. All the comforts of home are available for you here in our little slice of paradise.

What makes this property unique
The Guest House offers fabulous views of the lake and wildlife. We love to watch the deer come across the lower yard in the evening to drink from the lake. We've seen red fox, beaver, raccoon, armadillos, possums, squirrels, and birds of all kinds and colors. My favorites are the Orioles and Cardinals. We have even seen wild hogs and deer swimming across the lake. (I didn't know they could swim either!) I also love the screen porch.
Horseshoe INN and Campground is great for large groups and family reunions as well. With RV spaces, camping sites, the INN (sleeps 18), the LODGE (sleeps 16), CABIN (sleeps 2), COTTAGE (sleeps 4) and Bunk House there is room for everyone.
There are swings, benches, and out of the way seating areas placed across the property that will just call your name and invite you to take a seat and enjoy the surroundings.
Most comment on how quiet and peaceful it is, and I agree, unless there is a game of volleyball or softball going on!
