Perfect for a couples vacation. So much to see and do in the Columbia River Gorge! This house was perfect for what we needed. Really enjoyed the property and the area. Hopefully we will be back to area and do it again.
Romantic hidden gem in Mosier. The photos do not do justice to the beauty both inside and out. The Host (Martha) has carefully curated every detail to ensure a pleasurable and relaxing stay. The open kitchen has everything a cook could desire. We will forever have fond memories of mornings and evenings on the porch, enjoying the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge. We wish to return soon.
Spent a long weekend here for our anniversary and it was everything!!! Love this area so so much. It will always be special to us and Martha's home only added to the magic. Couldn't believe the view from the porch. The swings at dusk with the crickets felt like something from a movie. The kitchen was a dream to cook a nice meal in - overall the home had everything we needed to make it a perfect stay. Truly a special spot.
We enjoyed our stay. Mosier is a nice sleepy little town. The train does run through the town as it does all along hwy 84, and the cars can be heard as well, but the windows did a good job at blocking out the noise and we slept well. Overall, the cottage was lovely and felt comfortable. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen is large and easy to work in. Martha was very responsive and helpful.
Very charming, everything was very clean and comfortable. I just wish she had YouTube TV!
The notebook on things to do was terrific, and I really enjoyed walking down the hill to Mosier Company-good food and live music, hard to beat!
This house is centrally located but out of the Hood River crowds. We loved sitting on the porch, where we could see the river. The neighborhood was very quiet.
Nicely stocked kitchen - and coffee beans!
Great space for 2! Wonderful kitchen space that is very well equipped. Spacious living/dining area and nice outdoor spaces with a river view form the porch. Helpful activities guides. Martha was a great communicator and accommodating. Made our week of Gorge Downwind Championships super convenient and fun. And Mosier is a charming town.
My husband and i traveled to Oregon from Virginia for a wedding near Mt. Hood. The house was absolutely perfect for us and was equipped with everything we needed including a hairdryer. The town of Mosier is charming and we were able to walk to get coffee and meals. We greatly enjoyed our stay.
We loved the charm, cleanliness and convenient location. It was a quiet retreat after windsurfing in Hood River and we will most certainly stay there again. Thank you Martha!
We’ve been coming to the Columbia River Gorge for years, but first time staying in Mosier. It was exactly what we were after. Tranquility, comfort, and handy access to all the area has to offer. The cottage itself was great, well-appointed. Amazingly soundproof. Stargazing through the bedroom skylight a nice touch. Morning walks for coffee at Randonnee a perfect way to start the day. Highly recommend!
Such a cute little cottage, just the right size! My husband has been a carpenter for 30 plus years and was constantly commenting on the great workmanship that was put into the remodeling of this home. Coffee was great, view was great, and the little town of Mosier was all you needed. Hiking trails available all around!
Great little cottage. It had everything we needed and the washer and dryer were a nice addition. Close to historic highway 30 which allowed for some excellent bike rides. Good jumping off point for many outdoor adventures. Try the taco truck-great food and the market seemed to have everything you would need.
Loved our stay at the Little Red House. My sister and two cousins had a lovely and relaxing girl's weekend here. Great location with the amazing swimming hole and trails a 5 minute walk away. House updated yet cozy. Would stay again!
The cleanliness of the property, the quality of furnishings and appliances, and everything else was just fantastic. Our host seems to have thought of every possible amenity including whole bean coffee. Highly recommended!
This darling cottage is exactly as described. It's been updated with all the comforts of home while retaining its historical charm. The location in Mosier was perfect! We could walk everywhere in this tiny town that had a little bit of everything, including a local bar/restaurant, Mosier Company, that had delicious hard cider, outside seating, music, and lots of friendly locals. We hiked, we biked (e-bikes), we swam in the swimming hole, and we sat out on the front porch every morning and evening taking in the views of the river. The cottage was well-equipped with everything we needed, including coffee for our first morning. There was so much to do and see, we could have stayed much longer than our 5 days. Loved it!
Loved the lovely porch and river view. All was very clean and quiet...friendly neighborhood and easy walk to the little market, coffee shop and taco truck. Owner was prompt in communications.
Great communication with the owner. We enjoyed the location, view and amenities. Will definitely return!!!!

I grew up in Portland and live there now with my husband and two daughters where we both work in design. We frequently visit the gorge and Mosier to visit my brother and his family and to enjoy the beauty and activities of the area including, biking, hiking, paddle boarding and exploring. We use the home ourselves and are excited to share it with you.
Why they chose this property
I had my eye on this house and its mate next door for years as they fell into neglect. They were built in 1915 and they are a part of the historic fabric of Mosier. When they came on the market, I was excited for the opportunity to bring back their dignity and charm. My brother lives very close by and is a contractor who specializes in restoring old homes which, of course, was key to the remodel.
What makes this property unique
Sitting on the front porch lets one take in the immense landscape of the Columbia River Gorge and, at the same time, slow pace of a small town. The house has a great feel, a wonderful place to relax. Restoring and renovating the house was a labor of love and has served as a place for my creative energies including the making installing of the tile, the garden/patio and some artwork and furnishings.
