About this property

Our spacious house in the village of Montaigut le Blanc in the Auvergne region of France offers visual treats and life-style pleasures. It is a base for unmatched hill- walking and wheeled exploration of a fabled region and there is comfortable space for 8 persons with an intimate and welcoming core perfect for 2. The house is best suited for a maximum of 3 couples, because of the bed configuration and in the interest of privacy. The base price listed is for 5 guests. Fees apply for additional guests (maximum 8).

From the windows, balconies and gardens there are beautiful views of the village and countryside. Modern touches include international satellite TV, high speed internet connection, Smart TV , BluRay player, and free local calls.

The 200-square-metre (2200 square-foot) house is built of stone, finished to modern standards. The owner’s renovation, completed in the early 2000s, transformed the structure with flair and respect for the building’s original character. The previous major renovation was in Napoleonic times, and you can find traces of an earlier construction from the 16th century. The building is on a list of architectural treasures of the commune – the regional office of the Architect of France contributed significantly to the redesign.

The garden are was restored in the spring of 2024, after Covid related absences allowed it to decline. It reflects photographs accurately at this time.

On departure, we expect you to leave the house tidy, broom-clean and with the dishes washed. You do not have to launder bedding and linens before you go.

Spacieux

Vacances parfaites, nous reviendrons avec plaisir. Gîte propre, calme, bien chauffé et spacieux. Très bien équipé (cuisine,sdb…). Très bon accueil par Françoise et propriétaire joignable sans problème. Il faut juste savoir qu il n’y a pas de place pour la voiture mais un petit parking est disponible pas très loin.

Noël 2023 exceptionnel

Nous avons passé de merveilleuses fêtes de fin d'année dans ce gîte superbe, spacieux et atypique. Il est confortable, très bien chauffé et parfaitement équipé. Pour compléter le tout, son emplacement géographique est idéal. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter.

Maison tres agréable dans une tres belle région permettant de nombreuses visites. Accueil chaleureux de la part de Françoise. Pour la maison, diverses fuites provenant de la toiture ainsi que de la gouttière sont probablement à réparer avant que les dégâts ne s'accroissent. Il conviendrait également de signaler dans l'annonce qu'il n'est du tout facile de garer sa voiture dans la ville haute. Pour ce qui concerne le jardin les photos de l'annonce ne correspondent pas à son état réel qui est plutôt laissé à l'abandon. Ce qui est bien dommage car cela donne peu envie d'y aller.

Maison très agréable. Petite remarque pratique : Il pourrait être précisé dans l'annonce que l'une des chambres n'est accessible qu'en passant par une des salles de bain + toilettes. Ce qui limite l'accès à celle-ci.

Une grande maison ancienne en cœur de village qui vous plonge dans l’ambiance

Accueil fort sympathique par Francoise qui habite à deux pas et connaît l’histoire du lieu. Atmosphère pierre bois très agréable. Grande et haute pièce (salon/salle à manger) lumineuse dans l’étage d’entrée. Et une multitude d’autres petites pièces pour les chambres et salles de bains/d’eau. Une grande et belle cuisine à l’étage inférieur, avec cheminée, tomettes, ilot central. Nous y avons passé une semaine enthousiasmante!

Une maison de caractère dans un village préservé

Cette maison est régulièrement habitée par les propriétaires ce qui contribue à se sentir aussitôt chez soi, avec tout ce qu il faut ! Comme à la maison ! Très confortable. Quelles marches et 3 étages donnent un côté atypique à cette maison 1832. Montaigut est une localisation parfaite pour découvrir les POI ! Merci aussi à Françoise qui est formidable !

Nous avons passé un très bon moment dans cette magnifique et spacieuse maison ! Elle est très bien équipée et le placement est parfait pour accéder à de nombreux départs de randonnée. Merci également à Mme Bezaux pour son accueil et sa disponibilité !

Un gite super sympa

Très belle résidence, vaste, bien aménagée, que du bonheur. On a apprécié la grande cuisine où on peut évoluer à plusieurs, la baie vitrée avec une vue imprenable sur la vallée. Les gérants et propriétaires sont sympa, accessibles facilement et sont souples. 2 tous petits bémols: le stationnement peut parfois être un peu compliqué, et le gite a pas mal d'escaliers. Rien de bien méchant, on reviendra!

Un Noël en famille.

Nous donnons un 10/10 à cette location spacieuse et charmante. Montaigut est, de plus, une commune qui a gardé une âme appréciable. Le site est aussi typique que la maison. La météo nous a permis de visiter les environs sans faire de grands déplacements car Champeix, Saint Nectaire, Besse, le lac Pavin sont tout proche de Montaigut.

Sehr großzügig ausgestattetes Haus

Das Haus liegt im Oberdorf eines malerischen Ortes und lässt keinen Comfort vermissen. Die Besitzer haben es liebevoll und detailverliebt restauriert und in ein absolutes Kleinod verwandelt. Es gibt genügend Platz und eine moderne Küche. Kleies Manko ist die Anfahrt und der Parkplatz. Man kann die Straße nur von oben her einfahren, da sie in die andere Richtung wahnsinnig steil ist und es gibt wenig Abstellmöglichkeiten für ein Auto, da die Gassen sehr eng und Platz Mangelware ist. Ansonsten aber sehr empfehlenswert.

Wunderbares Ferienhaus

Das am Hang liegende Haus ist geschmackvoll ländlich eingerichtet. Die den Vermieter vertretende Dame ist freundlich und unkompliziert. Es gibt viele Möglichkeiten zum Wandern und einen großen Badesee in der Nähe.

Séjour inoubliable!

"La maison des vignerons" est un lieu parfait pour passer de merveilleuses vacances! Nous sommes venus en famille avec notre chien et rien n'a manqué à notre séjour. Un gîte charmant, agréable, typique et très bien équipé! Merci pour ces beaux souvenirs que nous avons pu nous créer.

A very comfortable house in a pretty village

The house is very well equipped and situated in a picturesque village. The owners have restored it very tastefully. The accommodation is spacious. We were a party of four adults and two children staying with plenty of room to enjoy ourselves and relax when we wanted. My family who live nearby visited us and we had a great time. I would book this property again.

urgemütlich erholen

hat die Erwartungen übertroffen: liebevoll und gemütlich eingerichtet, viel Platz für die ganze Familie, die Verwalterin war immer ansprechbar und hat sich sofort gekümmert, als ein kleines Malheur auftrat. Zum Fahren ist der Ort bzw das Parken für größere Autos (ich habe einen VW-Bus)etwas abenteuerlich. Ein Hinweis im Vorfeld, wie oder wo man fahren soll, wäre im Vorfeld vielleicht sinnvoll. Der Ort selbst romantisch, ruhig, sehr freundlich, ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in die nördliche Auvergne.

Comfortable and well equipped

A very comfortable house for two couples. Very well equipped kitchen, plenty of towels and linen. Arrival instructions need to be clearer and a proper BBQ would be nice. Francoise was very helpful. Good internet. Good location for sightseeing. Need good driving skills for parking near the house. We enjoyed it. Good value.

Beaucoup de charme dans le vieux Montaigut

Maison ancienne très bien restaurée. Tout le nécessaire pour un agréable séjour est disponible dans la maison. Charme authentique de la pierre de Volvic. Cependant, en période d'hiver, un radiateur d'appoint serait le bienvenu dans les quatres chambres.

A lovely and welcoming family house

La Maison des Vignerons is a lovely big and welcoming house in a beautiful village in the Massif Central, a great location with many walks to do. Much appreciated were the sunny dining area and the traditional yet very functional kitchen. The blend between stone and wood of this big house, as well as the space, makes it ideal for families including with young kids.

We live in Victoria British Columbia, Canada, but travel to France regularly. We have two children, so have made the house suitable for families with young children. My husband and I are both professional chefs and own a small business.

Why they chose this property

This property has been in our family for two generation. My husband and I were married in the village in 2008 and we visit regularly with our two children, as well as my brother's family. My father bought and restored this property meticulousy, maintianing it's regional and historic character. I inherited this property alongside my brother. Between myself and the rest of the family, the house is occupied for approximatly three months by family. This is also the time when we make improvements for tenants.
