About this property

The Asheville FROG!!!

Welcome to our North Asheville FROG! The space is bright and airy, and you will want to extend your stay in our cozy neighborhood. Located just 1.6 miles north of downtown, you are a short drive/lyft/bike ride into town or West Asheville! Or if you want to stay north you are within walking distance to local eateries, one of Asheville's staple breweries, grocery stores, drug stores, parks, and the university! The FROG is perfect for a long weekend, or an extended stay of several months!
The FROG is located on the second floor, with a private entrance, accessible through an outdoor stairway. You will have the entire guest suite to yourself with a keyless entry so you can come and go as you please. The space is bright and modern with some mid-century charm. You will be welcomed into the FROG with a bright, airy, open space that includes the living room, dining area and kitchen. The living room has a comfy couch that can be used for sleeping a third person and a large smart-TV (which includes Netflix). We provide a blue tooth soundbar speaker so you can play your tunes while getting ready for a big night out. The fully equipped kitchen has a refrigerator (with ice maker), dishwasher, microwave, farmhouse sink with garbage disposal, gas range, coffee maker and includes cookware and utensils if you want to prepare and enjoy a meal in. We’ve designed the kitchen with beautiful quartz countertops and a large peninsula that serves as a breakfast bar. We've installed beautiful hardwood floors throughout the apartment that are made from reclaimed barn wood. The bedroom has an amazingly comfortable queen size bed, a dresser and a large walk-in closet to store your clothes during your stay. We have equipped the FROG with it’s own tankless water heater so you can enjoy long, hot showers in your own full sized bathroom. While we do have private WiFi available to all guests, we do not have cable TV. You will also have access to a full size washer and dryer.

The FROG is 100% solar powered! We also have an electric vehicle (EV) outlet for guests of the FROG. It is a NEMA 14-50 outlet that is a 50 Amp 240 Volt at the parking spot dedicated to the FROG - this allows your EV to be fully charged overnight during your stay - and it’s solar powered!

Amazing getaway in great location.
We came up for a night and wanted to be in a quiet but close location to downtown. Matt the owner greeted us and was very welcoming. The unit was better than advertised- bed was super comfy, wonderfully decorated, all upgraded appliances, and great AC that worked really well- and although we didn’t bring our pups this time, dog friendly as well. We will be back!!. Thank you.

My husband and I and our dog had a wonderful stay in this quiet and very sweet part of Asheville. We really appreciated the effort put in by our host to make the FROG a special place to stay.

A perfect retreat
We were in the process of closing on our home in Asheville and needed a place to stay with our two miniature dachshunds until everything was finalized. The Frog was EXACTLY what we needed. We were not exactly free to roam about town as our dogs are rescues and don’t deal well with separation just yet. But the Frog is located in a quaint historic neighborhood near many restaurants that are walkable. When we weren’t dealing with real estate stuff we took advantage of the lovely area with the dogs in tow. But the place itself is in such a serene spot we enjoyed so much of the time just relaxing there. The bed was phenomenal. We slept so well we bought the same exact kind for our new house. The kitchen was well outfitted and all the furniture was extremely comfortable.

Cozy apartment in a cool neighborhood
Matt is a great host, and the apartment was very comfortable for two adults and two fluffy dogs. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, and has a friendly and creative vibe. Very dog-friendly. Walking distance to several restaurants on Merrimon, and a short drive to many more. We had a terrific time exploring Asheville -- thanks Matt!

I’m a CO native, but made Asheville my home 16 years ago. My interests include traveling, photography, ‘90s grunge music (& the flannels I wore in high school), craft beer, and Game of Thrones. I’m an avid mountain biker, who is forced to be an engineer during the day.

Cassie is a WNC native who’s super power is picking great vacation rentals for Matt’s hair-brained adventures. A lover of all animals, she owns her own company making bohemian dog collars and other handy items.

Why they chose this property

I bought this house because it met my one criteria at the time....I could walk to at least 4 bars. Since then I have fell in love with the great neighborhood! Though we're nestled close to downtown and only 1 block off of the main thoroughfare of North Asheville, you'd never know it. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful, yet walking distance to many restaurants, bars and a staple brewery /movie theater. I designed the FROG with guests in mind. Having travelled extensively myself, I tried to incorporate features into the 500 square foot space to make it feel like home. And with Cassie adding her decorative touch, the space is a comfy and cozy place to relax after a day of checking out everything Asheville has to offer.
