What a gorgeous place to stay! The property had all that was promised in the listing, and was a great home base for our group trip. Sanjay was communicative and pleasant, and his assistant Bettina was present for our arrival to give a short tour - they even had some fresh fruit ready for us. I would certainly stay here again! Thanks!

Thanks Max for your kind words. I hope we may host you again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - we looked forward to returning at the end of every day for a relaxing evening. Our hosts were very quick to respond and provided some wonderful local recommendations. The house is also conveniently located while also feeling secluded. Highly recommend!
Very nice house in Taos. Located very close to Taos and the mountains, it was just perfect for my family and brother family as we attended a wedding. Would come back anytime!
This home was perfectly located for our needs. Clean and comfortable, and large enough for our group of 9. We had a great time, and will certainly stay again if we visit the Taos area in the future!
The house was perfect for our trip. Very clean, loved the decor! The location is about 30 minutes from all the ski resorts so you have options. Would definitely stay here again.
We were in town for our daughters wedding and this house enabled our family to all stay together. Beautiful area and beautiful house. Our host was very responsive and accommodating. Would definitely stay again
The home was beautiful! Gorgeous views, fully equipped, beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the outdoor seating, hot tub, and sitting around the fire under the stars. The location was prefect, close to town but quiet and peaceful! Highly recommended!!
We came to town with our family and some friends for a long ski weekend. The house was very clean, well-stocked and the kids loved the hot tub. Sanjay was great to communicate with and Bettina was who met us at the property on arrival to give us a lay of the land. We had a great weekend!
What a delightful home! Our family stayed for 5 nights while taking care of my late Father’s belongings. Sanjay, and his business associate Bettina, could not have made us feel more welcomed or cared for. From having the lights on for our late arrival, to snacks, to referrals for local resources, and overall above and beyond kindness — we are so grateful to them, and that we stayed in such a beautiful home!(One thing to note: when it says the stairs are steep, no joke, they are — we were fine, but I wouldn’t put anyone totter-y upstairs!). Thank you so much for everything!
Blue Bird Farm is a wonderful spacious house with lots of coziness and conveniences. Sanjay filled his house with an eclectic mix of comfortable furniture, natural fiber textiles and thoughtful details to make your stay memorable. Kitchen was fully equipped for any kind of cooking you could think of, lots of small appliances and gadgets plus two full size fridge/freezer combos. The hot tub was hot and clean, perfect for starry night soaks. Wi-Fi, Roku, TV and Bose speakers all worked well. Master suite plus 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, kitchen, dining and living room on main level. 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a cozy sitting room upstairs. Absolutely only note is the stairs to the upstairs are steep so if bringing anyone with balance issues plan for them to stay on main level of house. Quiet location close to Taos and a short drive to the ski valley. Perfect location. Loved our stay and are planning to return for another stay.
Everything about this house was perfect for our family! We have 3 children born in 2020 and this house provided a space for all of them. There were 2 pack-and-plays, 2 booster seats, a high chair, a huge tub with a window in which they all bathed together, a great backyard for them to play and a central staircase that they could run their circuits around, as they do 😉 And for the hard-boarding adults, the hot tub was truly welcome! Thank you Sanjay and Bettina!!
The location was wonderful for activities in Taos and surrounding area. The hosts were lovely and greeted us with local salsa and other snacks. The house was spacious with room to spread out that was welcome. Plenty of outdoor space as well. The steps leading to upstairs bedroom would be a challenge for some to navigate (narrow and steep) so just a heads up on that but easily managed. The upstairs deck was a nice bonus for stargazing. The hot tub felt like a drawback showing age and wear. We ended up not using it. Overall, a great place with wonderful hosts.
Sanjay's house was absolutely gorgeous. His house manager Bettina was so sweet and easy to communicate if we needed anything or had questions! We got there earlier than anticipated and there was no issue getting into the property - Bettina soon met us with fresh fruit, a local magazine and flowers! The rooms and beds slept us all very comfortably. The kitchen had everything we needed. It's a quick and very easy drive up to the mountain (30 minutes). The only negative we had was the hot tub wasn't working properly and we couldn't get it to heat up hot enough to get in. BUT the scenery and the home itself were absolutely perfect ~ we will be back! Thanks Sanjay & Bettina so much ~ you made our stay lovely & memorable!
The house is well-appointed with a cool, funky layout and incredible views of the Sangre de Christo Mountains and the Taos Plateau. My friends and I very much enjoyed our stay!

Taos Ski Trip
Our stay went well. After we booked, it was difficult to get quick communication from the homeowner, but during our stay it was constant; which was great. The house was nice and just like the photos. It was about a 30 minute drive from the ski resort, but there is plenty to do in town. As for the stay as a whole, we all had a great time. The hot tub was a nice touch.
This house was great, very spacious. A nice country home located close to all sorts of fun stuff. Lots of room on the ground floor and a large living area upstairs with three bedrooms. The stairs are challenging, almost like climbing a ladder. Host and manager were very quick to respond to our questions. Overall a very nice experience!

About the host
Hosted by Sanjay Poovadan
In these parochial times it is worth saying - I immigrated to these United States 40+ years ago; I first came to this strange land of Northern New Mexico to go to college and then fell in love with it. It is a place so unlike anywhere else and it is also so un-American . I left NM for 15 yrs to to do the life of the big city but always felt the pull to return and I have made Taos home since 2002.
We have been hosts since 2004 - long before the arrival of the anonymous rental and so we can claim to be experts - our guide in this -- as in so much of life - is the principle of do unto others as u would have done to oneself. With that in mind, our homes are warm, welcoming, artfully assembled, and comfortable. Welcome to Taos!
Things I love--Taos Ski Valley is one of the great ski mountains of North America and I feel very lucky to be skiing it and learning it and loving it every winter. And then there is mountain biking and hiking and the art and complex and rich culture of northern NM that I love.
Why they chose this property
This was our home for our 4 children. It started out as life a 2 bed 1 bath FHA adobe in the early 80's and was expanded to become a 5 bed, 3 bath, 2 story farmhouse with 2 living rooms and mutiple patios. When Marah bought it in 1998 it was the Blue Bird Herb Farm but it was still a 2 bedroom home. She designed and built the second floor addition to make room for the growing family. The 3 boys, the pool table and the mess went upstairs. In 2005 we renovated again, adding decks, patios, new doors and landscaping....and just added AC upstairs. If you your group cannot handle steep stairs, please stay elsewhere - there are so many choices around the valley.
What makes this property unique
Spacious public spaces with large bedrooms all with views. Two living rooms, one on the main floor and one upstairs means you can have one group playing games and another watching television without crossing wires. True adobe brick walls - mean quiet and cool inside.
