Welcome to the Schwestern Haus at Pecan Grove Estates. This tree house is nestled in the beautifully landscaped grounds of the Pecan Grove Main House. Elevated in the tree canopy, this space has 1 private bedroom, bath, living area, dinning room, and kitchen as well as a loft bedroom upstairs. It is within walking distance to the San Antonio river, historic San Jose Missions, grocery, and pharmacy. This space comes with 1 parking space within the gated grounds.

Less than a 1.5 miles from the historic San Jose Missions, the San Antonio river, Biking/Walking trails as well as the vessel drop in point for kayaking down the river. Less than 5 miles to downtown San Antonio. A short drive to Southtown, the Pearl Brewery, and shopping.

Perfect Getaway!

Very cozy spot to just get away from the hustle and hustle of busy life. Absolutely loved all the German antiques and decor in this place and just a short drive from the Riverwalk. Owner was very sweet and friendly, and loved her sweet dog as well! Will definitely come back when we decide to make another getaway trip.

San Antonio trip

Unique and cute property. Great location. We went to visit the Mission San Jose which is only a couple of miles away. Very interesting and awesome trails along the riverwalk. Gail is great at giving out local eateries to try out!

Wonderful and relaxing

This was a fabulous and relaxing place to stay in San Antonio. It was like an oasis in the city with beautiful trees, birds and water. Our lodging was next to the San Juan Mission and close to the River Walk. Our host Gail was so welcoming and we enjoyed our 4 days immensely. We look forward to coming back to San Antonio and spending time again at the Treehouse in Pecan Estates.

Great Getaway 10/10 Recommend

We had an amazing stay at Schwetern Haus at Pecan Grove Estates! This charming treehouse was the perfect cozy and clean getaway we needed. Its unique design made it feel like a true escape, yet it was conveniently close to downtown and plenty of fun activities. The host was incredibly nice and went above and beyond to provide helpful recommendations for entertainment and places to explore. I had great communication with the host before my stay and throughout my trip the entire time we were there. Whether you’re looking for relaxation or adventure, this spot is ideal. We can’t wait to come back!

Love! Love! Love!

Came down for girls weekend in San Antonio. The house was adorable with everything you could need in it! Beautifully decorated! The neighborhood around the grounds are a little scary but once inside the gates, it’s like your in a whole new world! Our bed was so comfortable, great sheets and blankets. We will defiantly come back! Thank you for a great weekend!

It was a beautiful place from inside the gate. The little house was so cute and beautiful inside very clean . But only 1 car can park inside the property that we didn’t like and no internet. The neighborhood looks ghetto. And it’s 17 minutes to downtown no to close when you gotta get the freeway.

The host was very welcoming. The facility was okay, very decorative; however there are so many decorative things, that there is no room to put your necessities with an a reach. The same problem in the bathroom, no space by the sink. We were expecting a fully equipped kitchen, as my husband likes to cook. We had to go out to eat daily. The dishes in the pantry were dirty, had to clean the coffee pot because it was dirty. Same thing with the utensils. Very importantly, older and disabled persons should avoid this facility because there are two flights of narrow stairs to access the entrance. The overall grounds are beautiful. I received three start by the host. I asked her where to put the linens and she said not to do anything that I had paid for the cleaning. We took the trash out and left a couple of items drying on a towel, and unfortunately I left my medication and a bottle of milk in the mini fridge. The decorative pillows on the bed are too many, I put them on the language benches because, as I mention, there were too many and was no room to place them on the chair as it was requested.

Nice property but wouldn’t stay again

Pros: I really loved the property itself. The room was very cozy and very beautifully decorated. I liked being able to park within the gated area so I wouldn’t have to worry about my vehicle being parked so far away overnight. It’s also very close to the river walk and the Alamo. Cons: I was a little disappointed with my communication with the host. We received a message from her only a day before we were supposed to check in asking for our ETA and informing us that we had a specific window of time that we needed to check in. My husband and I had an event to attend in Austin and had hoped to check in after the event. When we explained this to the host she offered to extend the check in an extra 2 hours if we paid more. We ended up cancelling our event just to check in without having any issues. Had we known there would be a no late check in rule while booking or even before the refund period passed, we probably would have looked for another place. I also noticed a new review had appeared under the listing some time after booking that said there wasn’t any wifi. I knew the listing did mention there was internet so I reached out to the host to verify. I let her know it was important that I’m able to connect to wifi because I would be working one of the days during our stay. I was assured that there was and that it just needed to be “rebooted” sometimes. Sure enough, I had to reach out during my stay to ask for the wifi to be rebooted. Once the host messaged me that it was done, the network somehow no longer became available for me to connect and we spent the rest of our stay without wifi. No apology from the host or even an attempt to find a solution to the problem. I got this whole “oh well, not my problem” vibe from our message interactions. I would understand if I were only a guest, but as someone who paid to stay, there should have been more flexibility to check in on a night that’s already been paid for and we shouldn’t have lacked things such as the wifi that were clearly supposed to be there according to the listing.

NO WI-FI ! Tiny refrigerator, no stove , lawn furniture everywhere but all was dirty, the outside seating upstairs was filthy. The shed roof looking out had some kind of feces on it. TV in living room you could not turn up. No brochures to tell of the places to eat or visit . Loft is really for kids .

Lack of space

The host was very nice, but the the space was was so tiny and overcrowded with “decor” that there wasn’t any room to to put our stuff down or to relax. The internet and tv did not work when we arrived, and while the host got everything going, the tv in sitting room didn’t work the rest of the stay. The “beds” in th loft and sofa bed were terrible! The couch was a nightmare and it was impossible to sleep in the mattress on the floor. Climbing up a long ladder is not an ideal solution to get to a mattress unless you’re a child. We shortened our stay by a day because of poor sleeping arrangements.
