We had an amazing time staying at the Chalet Montmorency! The owners and staff were fabulous, accommodating, kind, and just great to get to know! We stayed for two weeks and are planning on going back.
The place is clean, well kept and furnished. Needs an oven though. Also, could have used more soap in the bathroom. Loved the mountain view. Unfortunately, the rain and lack of snow threw a wrench into our skiing plans so being within a couple minutes’ walking distance of the Chouette bar and of an excellent restaurant helped a little.

Right on the mountain- pool is separate location
The studio at the ski hill is nice and bright and has easy access to the main lift. We did not have a car with us so getting to the pool was a 15-20 min decent walk to the main group of chalets. All the restaurants were closed Mon-Wed at this time of the season so there was nowhere to eat at night (without a car). Luckily we brought some groceries with us. The skiing itself was very nice: no lines, lots of snow, many easy runs for kids/advanced beginners and plenty of challenging blues and blacks.
We stayed in this rental property for 3 nights. The property was as expected. Check-in was a bit confusing as we entered the property address into our GPS, rather than the property manager’s office location (about 3 min down the road). Once we corrected our error all was well and the check-in was smooth. The location easily accommodated our family of 3. The parking and ski locker made life super easy. As did the easy access to the chair lift and magic carpet for our little guy. We would highly recommend this location for a small family looking to enjoy a ski vacation with minimal hassles.
The one bedroom we were upgraded to was well appointed and comfortable for three people. Kitchen was well stocked and although the appliances were older they worked just fine. The pool and hot tub area are by reservation only, which makes it very quiet and private. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed here for the proximity to mountain biking at Mt St Anne; it was literally a couple minutes drive from our unit and could actually be ridden to on the street in 5 minutes. The only issue I noticed was a lack of numbering on the units themselves, making it a bit challenging to find your unit in the dark. The map the office gives you is a bit rudimentary so it makes it a little challenging. I suggest they put numbers on the doors or next to the doors to allow visitors to quickly find their units in the dark without having to wander the complex.
We had a very wonderful stay for our ski trip to Mont Ste Anne. The Host, John Barclay, had rapid responses to all our communications. However it was not completely clear to me that when the ski-in/ski-out studio was already booked for our dates, when he offered us their 1 bedroom condo that was available, that it was not located in the same complex. When I asked if it was also ski-in/ski-out, he replied that it's 800m from the ski lifts, which is true, but a quick 2 min drive down the road. The other little mix up was that the 1 bedroom condo was run by a separate company that does the check-ins for all the condos in that complex. When we accepted the booking for the 1 bedroom condo with renovated pictures and modern look from the host, it unfortunately was not the case when we arrived for our late night check-in. The company offered to 'upgrade' us (a couple) to a 3-bedroom condo instead, which was more spacious in the living area and kitchen, with multiple bathroom ensuites. However the 3-bedroom condo was not renovated and far from modern. The host offered to move back to the 1 bedroom renovated condo that we had reserved, but we had already settled into the 3-bedroom and were too under the weather to move again. To make up for this little misunderstanding, the company offered us multiple fire logs (usually only 1 comes with the place). Overall our stay was very pleasant, as the 3-bedroom condo that we ended up in was very comfortable, spacious and clean. The 'King bed' in the master bedroom is actually two twins pushed together. We had a great time and enjoyed using the hot tub that was part of the amenities of this booking. The host and staff were very welcoming, helpful and accommodating to our request for a late check-in and late check-out. Overall would still recommend this booking despite the last minute switcheroo.
We have stayed at many VRBO properties and this one did not let us down.
But we didn’t go to Quebec because of the property .....we went to Quebec because of the wonderful and friendly Quebecers! Thank you Quebec for allowing us to fall in love with your Province!
The condo owners and staff are great examples and role models for all VRBO properties and are truly wonderful! We shall be back!
