Enjoyed the stay. Had mama bear and her 2 cubs come for a visit twice on the porch. My son fished in the pond. The boys including husband enjoyed the hot tub! Would stay again.
The good- The location is great. Close enough to the tourist attractions of nearby cities but far enough away that you can disconnect from it if you choose to. The cabin layout worked great for our family. The bad or could be better- the roof leaked in the upstairs bathroom when it rained, based on the warped floor it been doing that for a minute. The air hockey table/ping pong table- no ping pong balls and the air hockey fans don’t work so that is an unusable amenity. Which lead to disappointed kids as they were pumped to use it but couldn’t. We looked in nearby stores for ping pong balls without any luck. The fridge leaked water from the freezer onto food in the refrigerator, ruining the food. Towels are very small, I would recommend bringing your own. In short: the location and layout are great. The amenities that the host can control are lacking.
We made reservations and were worried because of reviews. We got there and it totally surpassed our expectations.. Its secluded and lovely. We loved the area the decor was great and there is lots to do close to the cabin. We actually saw a bear twice the second time it was getting into our trunk as we were packing! We loved our stay overall. The jacuzzi jets dont work on inside tub so that was disappointing but otherwise very nice.

Beautiful location
This was a beautiful location and the cabin itself wasn't too bad. The hot tub deck had mildew issues that prevented us from going out there, and there were several mice we caught in the cabin. It had well water which meant I had to wash my hair in town at a salon. Other than that, we loved the location. The lake view was great. I wouldn't personally rent this one again. There wasn't a lot in the cabin for a longer stay like ours (7 days) ie cooking supplies etc, compared to other cabins we've stayed in.
Loved the cabin and surroundings. Very private yet close to the Park.
Didn’t realize the cabin was in a community, but the houses are far enough apart that there’s plenty of privacy, at least in early November. Loved the Smoky Mtn charm of the place and definitely enjoyed the hot tub.
Wish there had been some basics like coffee filters, sugar... TP wasn’t the best and it’s definitely time for a new toilet in the master. The iron deposits make it look gross. If you do replace it get one that’s taller. Adults use it, not toddlers.
We had a great time staying at this cabin. It was well off a main road & isolated from other cabins. The paved road is fairly narrow however we never met another vehicle on the road going to or from the cabin. We were even able to watch a mother bear & two cubs one time while we were going back to the cabin. It was so neat! It’s also a very easy drive to make to Pigeon Forge & to a Dollar General not far a few times for supplies we forgot. The cabin was beautifully decorated & great place to stay. The kitchen was adequate, however a few more pots & pans would be helpful & there were no pot holders so I had to use dish towels. There was little to no cell reception which made planning activities a little difficult but at the same time, having no service meant we were really able to enjoy our time together without distractions of phones. The hot tub & jacuzzi tub were in good working order & made the stay that much more pleasant. My kids loved the loft with game table & their own bathroom. All in all, we were very pleased with Alpine Joy & would stay there again. Beautiful place!

Nice Property, needs some TLC
Beautiful Cabin. Nice location. The Property needs some repairs and TLC. The rental agent is in Pigeon Forge 11 miles from the cabin. They require a visit to get the access code. This is inconvenient if coming from the west off of I-75.
The land line Phone service is off, and there is no ATT wireless coverage.
There is no Internet service provided.
The Direct TV was off when we arrived, it took 2 days to get turned on.
Both of the Shower Doors are sticking, need repair.
Picnic Table is broken.
1/2 the jets in the hot tub work.
Pool Table in poor repair.
There are at least two roof leaks, one over the entry steps, and one over the hot tub.
Trees in front of cabin need trimming, they are blocking the view.
Carpenter Bee's are damaging the siding.
Major dusting needed.

This property could be 5 star with a little work.
Owner needs to provide internet service, the large eye in the stove doesn’t work correctly, the toilet downstairs looks like a disease waiting to happen...CLR will clean those rust stains. All the signs in the house stating you will be charged extra if you do this or that are annoying. If you have more than two bags of garbage, make a 30 mile round trip to Pigeon Forge to place it in the dumpsters at the office managing the property or you will be charged more. Are you kidding? It’s 40 minutes from west Knoxville to this house, but Bear Creek Cabins wants you to make that additional 30 mile drive to their office for a key code. They already had full payment, a copy of my drivers license, a copy of one of my guests drivers license and my credit card. This is ridiculous. The carpenter bees are literally eating the exterior of the house, the rain gutter is falling off, the hot tub jets are questionable as to wether or not they come on, the TV is an antique, the phone service was out and there is very spotty cell phone service here. I feel we would have been in serious trouble had we had a medical emergency. Then we get a call that the neighbors can’t get up their driveway so they would be parking three cars in our driveway. If I were the owner, I would ditch Bear Creek Cabin rentals and manage the property only through VRBO.
My boyfriend and I couldn’t be more happier with alpine joy. It was the perfect get away. Secluded in the mountains but close enough to go enjoy Gatlinburg and pigeon forge. The hot tub was nice to soak in after a long day. The perfect get away.I highly recommend making this a go to stay when heading to the Smokey mountains. We will definitely be back again

Disappointment
The cabin was lovely and I "think" it was in a lovely place. The grounds around the cabin drastically needs mowing. There were a couple of rustic plows and a tractor. However, they could barely be seen with all the growth around them. The pond would be beautiful, if it could be seen. It would be wonderful to walk down to the pond. The cabin itself needs a little attention. Light bulbs need replacing in kitchen and bathroom (downstairs). Even with socks on, I could feel grit/sand on the floor downstairs. The most upsetting was that I was unable to use the code given to open the door. After nobody returned my phone call 30-45 minutes later, I walked around the house, checking the windows and the back door. The back door was unlocked!!!
When I eventually got someone to answer the phone, I was told "the cabin wasn't on line". This trip was not the peaceful, weekend I had envisioned. However, all of the was due to carelessness on the person who cleans/locks doors, the caretaker of the grounds, and whoever sent me a code that didn't work. This company would do well if you'd consider hiring responsible, trustworthy employees. The location and cabin alone are lovely.
Cabin was clean, nicely decorated and we had a pleasant stay. Dryer was not working but one call to bear cabin rentals and it was fixed promptly. The only thing we disliked was the strong odor from the well water, overall nice location and a beautiful cabin to stay at.
If you are ok with a somewhat secluded cabin, this place could be for you. This cabin has no Wi-Fi and my Verizon service was non existent. So be prepared for no internet until you get back to the main highway. The lack of internet service definitely hampered our planning during our stay.
The inside of the cabin was clean. The toilets are as described in other reviews due to the water. My kids loved the bunk beds and the ping pong table upstairs (no net).
It is about a 20 minute drive to Pigeon Forge and about 35-45 mins to Gatlinburg. The drive up to the cabin itself can be a bit scary if you are not used to steep narrow hills. A word of caution, do not miss your turn coming to the cabin or you will end up driving to the top of the mountain which was a bit frightening.
Overall nice place to stay but a bit far from town for our taste. Also, the lack of internet, even on our phones, was a downer for us.

Family vacation
The cabin was nice but seriously needs some upgrades!! The toilets are absolutely disgusting! Well water is not an excuse! There was barely anything to cook with that was actually big enough and not meant for one person.
My overall experience was very pleasant. Check-in was very simple and contact-free. The cabin was private with a perfect view of the mountains and of the fishing pond across the drive. The drive itself was paved making it easily accessible. It was the perfect getaway for anyone seeking relaxation and peace and quiet.

We Loved this property!
The cabin was perfect for our weekend stay. We loved that it was quiet, secluded and peaceful and outside of the hustle and bustle of the tourist attractions, but close enough to drive and enjoy the attractions too. The staff was very helpful in our search for cabin to host our wedding ceremony too! We will be repeat customers.
