Sure! Here's a shorter version of the review:---A Secret Place to Slow Down lives up to its name, quiet, cozy, and beautifully set in nature. The space was spotless, thoughtfully decorated, and incredibly relaxing. Close enough to Gloucester’s attractions but tucked away enough to truly unplug. The hosts were kind and attentive. A true hidden gem, we can’t wait to return!
Property just outside of town so you can grab anything you need quickly. Beautiful setting, woke to the sounds of all the local bird life and the beautiful foggy valley while watching the sunrise coming up from the mountains. So many animals from the cows grazing to the little magpie that would come for a snack to the green tree frog that would come and croak at night plus rock wallabies that would be hopping past. The surrounding Barrington tops National Park was spectacular views and bush walks. Thanks to all the lovely locals that welcomed us into their beautiful town and a very special thanks to Dan for sharing this little piece of countryside with us.
Absolute peace and serenity. Driveway is a bit tricky but adds to the remoteness while still being close to town. Well designed with lots of thoughtful touches.

Heatwave stay
The property is well appointed (but not luxury) however the description of ammenities is misleading.
The aircon is completely inadequate for the place and when you need it most in a heatwave it is useless. There is no washing machine or drier despite the description stating that.
The property is heavily reliant on solar and the batteries between two cabins are connected. We had the misfortune of the occupants of the other cabin draining our battery as well as theirs leaving us with no power. You can not run the aircon and use the kettle, toaster or microwave at the same time otherwise it shorts it.
The back up generator failed to operate when the solar battery was drained and no one was sent to fix this leaving us with minimal power during a heatwave.
When we flagged some issues with the manager/host we were advised “a cool change should come through later”… well meant but not helpful when we were sweltering in 35’C+ heat.
We were repeatedly woken the first night by the faulty smoke alarm. When we advised the manager/host of this we were told “it’s ok to remove it” no one sent out to replace it.
We had a wonderful stay. Amazing views, the bath was a hit, and the weather cooled down overnight in the middle of summer. The cabin is able to be kept quite cool in the middle of the day too. We spent a few days there without needing to go out. The birds nearby were wonderful. Very happy it's pet friendly, as our two small dogs had a great time too. The local coucal blessed us with its interesting call and we briefly spotted it once! Besides a local crow giving us a 5am wake up call, overall it was a wonderful stay. We will be back again.
The cabin is well appointed and has a neat layout which made our stay very comfortable. It has a beautiful view of the town from the hilltop and was so quiet. Really enjoyed our stay.
