About this property

Dragon Tree House Lennox Head / Byron Coast

Nestled in Lennox Head village, on Bundjalung country. Dragon Tree House is a couple of blocks from the beach, is my little piece of paradise. DTH is close to everything (beaches, lake, walks, restaurants, cafes, bars, shops) you’ll want and more, and the perfect retreat to come home to.

The house is open plan, with a large inside living/ dining space that extends via glass sliding doors on to a huge covered deck surrounded by tropical gardens with a pool, doubling the living space.

Chill on the day beds, or in the cabana, while the kids are playing in the pool. Keep your eye out for the shy water dragons, they love a swim in the pool when no-one is watching.

The village has great food, restaurants, shopping and eating options with heaps of local produce available at stores and the local farmers markets.

The beaches are beautiful, with some of the best surfing on the coast. Say hi to the local Pelicans or the pair of Bramhiny Kites nesting in the norfolk pine at the entrance to Lake Ainsworth.

There are lots of walks north and south, 15 minutes south brings you to Pat Morton's lookout on Lennox headland where an amazing outlook across the ocean and village invites you to watch the the hang gliders or get into the action and do a jump yourself, so much fun! Its a great lookout for whales and the surf. If you continue walking over the headland you’ll end up at the beautiful Boulders Beach, its covered in volcanic rocks. You can continue to walk or pushbike along the coast walk tracks to Ballina.

A 10 minute walk to the north of DTH is tranquil Lake Ainsworth, the tea tree lake, great for swimming, SUPing. Hire a Kayak or wallow in the therapeutic Tea Tree waters around a lakeside picnic or the Surfclub Cafe. The walk to the end of Seven Mike Beach is beautiful and fun to pushbike on low tide. 15 minutes to the west are the famous Historic villages of Newrybar and Bangalow. Just 20 minutes north is Byron Bay if you need a hectic fix.

Luxury for the whole family
There is nothing I would fault with our stay. It was such a relaxing haven that we didn’t end up venturing anywhere else. The host is extremely generous, providing a fully equipped kitchen/pantry, robes, candles, pool toys, towels and lovely linen. Bronwyn was very kind and super helpful. The house was clean and presented perfectly for our stay. Highly recommend. Hope to return one day.

Beautiful property, perfectly located
Had a wonderful few days here with my family. The property was so clean and had everything needed to enjoy our stay. The beds were so comfortable and the linens and bedding so luxurious. The pool was fantastic and so was the water dragon who was so cool. Only a short walk or cycle to the shops, beach and restaurants of Lennox Head.

A truly perfect escape.
Our stay at the Dragon Tree House was incredible. We wanted for nothing. The kitchen would have to be the most well-stocked kitchen in any home we have stayed the in with a surplus of pots, pans, cutlery and dishes including beautiful ceramic serving dishes. We never went out for any meal - it was a joy to prepare meals here but if you were to venture out, the restaurant strip was only a short stroll away as is the beach. The bedrooms and adjoining bathrooms were extremely quiet, comfortable and elegant and once again the attention to detail was appreciated. The living areas (indoor and outdoor) are generous in size and as such, added to the ease of holiday life. Staying at the Dragon Tree House means you don't have to bring a thing aside from your own clothes. The pantry is stocked with everything we could have asked for including kitchen basics such as flour, sugar, spices and rices to items such as preserved lemon and a range of specialised sauces and local coffees etc are also included. Beach towels, sun hats, push bikes, deck chairs, a beach umbrella, pool noodles and gorgeous shampoos & conditioners are also provided! To say we were overwhelmed by such thoughtfulness would be an understatement. Bronwyn, the owner, is very responsive and attentive. We felt we were in caring hands. I'll definitely be back and hopefully for a longer stay next time. Thank you Bronwyn. We can't wait to return. Tess and friends.

I lived in Lennox 30 years ago and fell in love with the chilled out surfer village. I left and traveled overseas for a few years. It's taken me 25 years to get back and build my little piece of paradise a couple of blocks back from the beach, and the village has retained the same chilled surfer village feel. I now live and work in Sydney, but need the north coast escape. I am happy to share my amazing Dragon Tree House with you and hope you love it as much as i do.

Why they chose this property

The house is open plan, with a large inside living/ dining space that extends via glass sliding doors on to a huge covered deck surrounded by tropical gardens with a pool.

Chill on the day beds, or in the cabana, while the kids are playing in the pool. Keep your eye out for the shy water dragons, they love a swim in the pool when no-one is watching.

Enjoy the outdoor dining area that is fully equipped with built-in BBQ and sink.

Relax inside on the Belgium linen sofas and watch TV (Netflix, Prime, Koyo, Iview and SBS OnDemand are all available), plug in your game console for further family fun, or use the internet to stream your own music via the UE Boom

Get into the gourmet kitchen and make yourself at home. The kitchen is complete with concrete benchtops, a 5-burner 900 wide gas stove, oven, a large fridge with icemaker, and filtered water, and of course a dishwasher. The kitchen comes well-stocked with top-quality pots, pans, kitchen appliances and knives.

There can never be too many coffee options. A commercial la Pavoni espresso machine, (inc coffee beans), 3 sizes of stove top espresso, and a Nespresso (with pods) There is also an extensively well stocked walk-in pantry.

The house sleeps 9; 3 bedrooms with 6 beds and 3.5 bathrooms.
Downstairs, Bed 1: king bed covered in French Linen bedding and organic cotton towels and robes, use the inside bathroom, or watch the stars above while relaxing in the outdoor giant stone bath surrounded by candles in the tropical garden.

Bed 2: king bed covered in French Linen bedding, and organic cotton towels and robes included in the full bathroom.

Bed 3: perfect for a third couple, or a fab kids retreat. Includes a queen bed 3 bunks, all covered in French Linen bedding, organic cotton towels and robes in the full bathroom. This room also has a private chillout area, with flatscreen TV and beanbags, a walk in robe plus huge balcony with lounger and wicker chairs that overlooks the pool and garden below.

Just 20 minutes north is Byron Bay if you need a hectic fix, making it a perfect holiday destination.

DTH is versitle, its the perfect for a multi family holiday, a couple getaway, or a 3 couple fun holiday. 2 luxe bedrooms downstairs for the parents and a retreat upstairs perfect for the kids, including flatscreen TV and beanbags... or a big 3rd couple reteat.
