Great weekend getaway

We found the location the last minute. Really had no idea about the place. We were totally surprised. The Rustic Viaal was beautiful, clean and just perfect for us and our son and his family. We are already talking about another trip

Not as advertised

While the cabin inside was fine, except an infestation of stink bugs, this property is located either in the The Badlands Off Road Park or as close as one could be without being in the park. The house is on the corner very close to fairly a busy road and the entrance of Badlands. So noisy at times especially with the comings and goings of the park users. It is also across the street from an ADM grain processing plant, which while not operational is not in line with the property pictures presented that would imply this is a quiet, natural setting. In the other direction is a large metal garage that we assume is affiliated with the Badlands park. So that direction is not a natural setting either. The cabin photo is essentially taken from the one spot that one could take a photo and miss Badlands, the ADM plant, the garage and the cemetery across the street. Stink bugs are pretty harmless, but they were everywhere. Not a few, but dozens and dozens, we probably removed 50 and gave up after that. This cabin needs a professional pest control service to remove. It is likely the cabin itself was not cleaned prior to our visit, at least not vacuumed, given that the bugs were everywhere. If one is looking for a convenient and comfortable cabin close to Badlands because you are going to use Badlands, this is cabin fine. If one is looking to relax for any other reason, this is not the right choice.

Frustrated

I arrived at the property on the later side and it was easy to find and the communication prior to arrival as to how to enter the cabin was good. The cabin was clean and cute but I did not realize it was situation right next to a industrial plant. Based on the picture I believed it was more in a nature type setting. I enjoyed my evening until I tried to fall asleep. It turns out that the corn dryer from the plant directly next to the cabin was drying corn and the equipment made it sound like there was running vacuum cleaner in my room all night. I ended up leaving the following day instead of staying the two nights I had planned because I was really in need of some good sleep. Upon trying to reach the property manager it took five calls and messages and an email to final reach him. His response to my frustration was not satisfactory and very frustrating stating that it didnt bother anyone else and it only happens two weeks out of the year. I would not stay at this location again.
