This cozy, ground floor, corner 1 bedroom 1 bath Cottonwood Condominium is located directly on the Sun Valley Resort property. The living area has a gas fireplace, a 36-inch flat-screen TV with streaming/cable, and access to a very large deck that overlooks a beautiful pond. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a dining table for 4. The bedroom has a king bed and access to a full-size bath with a single vanity sink and tub/shower combo. The condo offers a stack washer/dryer and access to the Sun Valley community pool, hot tub, tennis, and golf.

Complex Features: The Cottonwood Condominiums are located on Dollar Road just across from the Sun Valley Village. The Sun Valley Pavilion is about two blocks away. This is the best location for convenient access to indoor and outdoor ice-skating rinks, pools, hot tubs, shops, and meeting facilities. The location is known for its privacy and tranquility, featuring a blend of comfort, warmth, and scenery. Landscaping includes ponds and streams on the grounds. Bald Mountain ski lifts are 1.5 miles away and Dollar Mountain ski lifts are 0.5 miles away. Both ski lifts and downtown Ketchum are easily reachable by the Mountain Rides shuttle that stops at the entrance to the Cottonwoods. In the summer the bike path provides miles of scenic biking or walking enjoyment.

Sun Valley Resort Amenities: A maximum of 5 amenities passes will be issued per reservation. The Sun Valley Inn Pool is available. The workout room, sauna, hot tub, and Lodge pool are NOT included. During peak summer season only, the amenities pass also includes access to the Olympic and kids’ pools, priority tee times, hotel rate for golf, and a discount on tennis, gun club, and trail rides. Alpine Lodging cannot guarantee amenities will be open as resort policies can change at any time.

Please note: No pets allowed. This unit is professionally managed, and all check-ins are at the Alpine Lodging Office, conveniently located on South Main Street in Ketchum. Self-check-in is not available at the property. We strive to make check-in as quick and easy as possible so you can start enjoying your vacation! Reservations are unit-specific. We do everything possible to keep your reservation in the same property you’ve reserved. If the property has a maintenance emergency, we will contact you with the option to move your reservation to a property of equal or greater value, at no additional cost.

We found the location to be perfect for our visit and really enjoyed the fireplace during the -4 degrees weather. However per another reviewer we found the condo to need a little bit of a refresh. Nothing too serious and the cost was excellent based on location.

Not Quite as Advertised

Property featured pictures of a large exterior deck with several blooming flowers. There were no flowers and the deck was filthy. Perhaps the 1 oz toiletries were a bit chinsey-- even the TSA allows 3 ounces!

Property is fine; management had issues

This condo is on the older side but everything works, and it is clean. The location is very convenient to the Sun Valley Resort and the free Mountain Rides buses to Ketchum and Baldy Mtn ski area. Having a washer/dryer in the unit was appreciated, but detergent was not provided. I also appreciated the coffee maker provided, but sugar was not provided. These minor flaws aside, the unit itself is nice enough and a fair value. I had issues with the property management service, however. They provided no check-in instructions by email or through the VRBO app, so when I arrived from the airport I had to call to find out that old-school metal keys are required to enter the condo and those are handed out at an office in Ketchum. So I had to spend 35 minutes and about $25 on an Uber to go down to get the keys. Had I arrived when the office was closed (including any time on Sunday), I would not have been able to enter the property. This is an outdated practice for VRBOs and would cause me to not recommend the rental to others. I was also disappointed when the management failed to return an item that I inadvertently left behind in the unit. I notified them by phone immediately upon returning home and discovering the oversight, and they said they would look for it and ship it to me if found. The item was left on the bed and impossible to miss, but they never followed up, so I'm out about $150 because they either kept or discarded my property. This despite me handing a $20 tip to the housekeeping staff as I checked out of the unit.

Occupied the condo for several days. Comfortable, nicely appointed and a good location. Only issue was the construction in front of the office. Though for quick key return one can get down to Gem Street, then go around through the construction if you are heading to boise or Hailey.

Bed was terrible and very old and used. Rotated the mattress. It did not help. Old building 1970's old bathroom looked like paint was covering mold. Nice deck outside! Completely unusable as snow covered it completely. I cleared the snow from the patio as this was blocked and was an EMERGENCY exit.

Work weekend in Sun Valley

This property is a bit dated but well stocked in the kitchen with things needed to cook but don't expect anything complementary like coffee, nice pillows or heat. The property management company made things about as inconvenient as possible and check/out required 4 visits to the offsite office in Ketchum and I still never got amenities passes to use as I was not able to make it in during business hours to sign for things despite trying to do this the day of check in but I arrived at 2pm before my work meeting started for the afternoon/evening I was told it is not possible to do this as check in is between 4pm and 5:30pm so they insisted I come back which I could not do. The property management Alpine Lodging is not flexible or convenient for Sun Valley properties. It was a very different experience than I have ever had before with VRBO and a very different experience than my co-workers had with lodging check in. Disappointed at the lack of guest customer service. I Had to do an after hours check in which involves a lock box at an office in Ketchum about 3 miles from the Sun Valley property which required driving when it was dumping snow. By the time I was able to get back to town to get keys get back to sun valley to get settled for the night it was after 9pm. They had turned the heat way down in the condo and I discovered that they don't offer complementary coffee or tea and grocery stores which are back in Ketchum were closed. It took a couple hours to heat.

The complimentary Sun Valley pool pass was an added perk and a great way to unwind after exploring the Wood River Trail. Finally, my experience with the Alpine Lodging team, specifically Esther, was very positive. I'm hoping for a return trip to SV again soon!

We love the setup, we appreciate all the brightness of the rooms with all the windows, great kitchen. It even has a humidifier. The last two years we are disappointed with the lack of care regarding the iced up walkways. We know it is part of the seasonal reality but there is no shovel or icemelt, no response from repeated calls to Sun Valley maintenance. It is a real safety hazard on the walkways immediately near the entrance. Since there was not any response from any of the people we were told to call, we are writing this review in hopes the owners will see it and take appropriate actions. Thank you.

Location can't be beat. Easy to walk to the Lodge and all the shops and restaurants at the resort. Bus stop extremely close to the front door, that can take you anywhere in Ketchum or Hailey. We also walked to Dollar mountain a number of times (about 15-20 minutes walk). Kitchen is very well equipped for meals of any type. Bed and living room furniture very comfortable. Locker for ski equipment.

Cute Condo

I've stayed at this condo 3 times. I love the location and that it is clean and comfortable to stay there. I love sitting on the nice patio to read and I appreciate the king size bed. I appreciate that there is a way to watch live tv. Some of the other condos I've stayed in just have streaming, so I would have missed watching the U.S. open tennis tournament if I hadn't been at this condo. Thank you to the owners!
