Our stay here was so relaxing. There are lots of places to walk. Lakes all around. The town and people are wonderful. Nice big kitchen. Just lovely!

Staying at the Holy Roost was a completely unusual experience! We highly recommend it.
Les and Candi have created a tranquil oasis in the vast expanse of South Dakota. The church home is wonderful, comfortable, livable and just quirky enough to appeal to me and my wife. We hung out on the back deck and watched a big midwestern sky full of clouds, took drives on country roads lined with pheasant and red winged black birds, and eat kutchen, the South Dakota State desert. Try the rhubarb! It takes imagination to figure out what to do up here, which is perfect. Shaw Creak, over on the Missouri River, has a great hike. Eureka is small and friendly, with enough services, and a great community lake with a beach. We found an art show in a park in Aberdeen and visited the Cathedral on the Plains. It is a wetland and bird paradise and the grasslands waive in the wind like a giant sea. The photographic opportunities are world class and the sense of serenity very restorative. Two great TV's keep you entertained if you wish. I turned one on to catch the news and two minutes later decided to sit out on the deck, enjoy a drink with my wife, and look at the big South Dakota sky. Perfect!
Very unique, very comfortable and the hosts were very accommodating. We couldn't have asked for a better place. It was decorated beautifully and the view from the kitchen when the sun is setting is absolutely gorgeous. If you want peace, comfort, tranquility and a unique stay... I highly recommend staying here!

Peaceful on the plains.
Sitting just on the edge of the little town of eureka this was a quite getaway in the middle of busy summer. Fast high speed internet let us still be connected. Short walks to the town lake made for amazing sunsets. We wouldnt hesitate to come and rent here again. Also what a cool house!!!

Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this "church" because it is truly a church in the prairie reflecting that of yesteryear.
