About the host

Born and brought up in the mountains. Growing up in mountains has been a blessing and an experience in itself.

Being able to hike up to a mountain peak on a beautiful day, breathe in the fresh, crisp aroma that is mountain air, and look out at the beautiful layers of rolling ridges as far as the eye can see, has been and will always remain my favorite activity.

The story of our (Upreti’s) family roots dates back to 400 years ago when our ancestors migrated from their village in search of water and livelihood. This journey begins when our ancestors escaped from Kheti Village (in Almora) to village Alchauna (Bhimtal, Nainital) as a result of the invasion by the Nepal Kingdom and in search of livelihood. Over generations, family developed this estate and farms along river Kalsa.

I am an explorer, traveler, loves to meet people, understand their culture and experiences. Lover of mountains, little streams, rushing rivers, clouds and rain. Travelling is my ultimate passion and nature is therapy.
