About this property

The Cottage - 2 miles to I-65

The Cottage is one of 4 rentals offered by Green Pastures Getaways. This property consists of 32 acres, main house, guest house, pool, 2-ponds and pastures. The Cottage is on the top of a hill overlooking a beautiful pasture. This is a very private property yet only 5 minutes to I-65.

The spaces are filled with lots of antiques, beautiful art (for sale) and lots of unique items. From the time you arrive until the time you leave, you'll be inspired and wishing your stay had been longer.

We'd like to welcome you to "Green Pastures Getaways". This has been our "dream property" for the last 20 years as we've passed by it almost every day. We became friends with the previous owners many years ago and amazingly now it's ours! We're looking forward to sharing it with you!
I know that you'll enjoy your stay here!! This is one of the most beautiful places around! The views are breathtaking. The spaces are awesome. The décor is unique. There's a lot to enjoy around the property and you're welcome to roam around. There's a wonderful porch, a gorgeous live edge pool, lush vegetation, several great places to sit and relax and enjoy the outdoors. There is a fire pit and it's easy to grab some sticks and get a fire started on a cool evening. Star gazing is amazing as is looking at a gorgeous moon.
It's not uncommon to see deer and turkeys roaming the pasture, owls and hawks fly by and squirrels chasing each other around. All types of birds make regular visits to the feeders around the property.


Guests have access to the entire guest house, are able to utilize the pool and enjoy other unique spaces around the property.

I'll be around working around the property a good portion of the time so I'm typically available to assist as needed. If I am not on the property I'm often just a few minutes away and always available via message or call.

This is one of the most unique properties you'll find. Everywhere you look you're surrounded by amazing beauty yet you're only 2 miles from I-65.

Convenient to so many places!!!! 5 minutes to I-65, Montevallo, Calera 10 minutes to Alabaster, 1 Hour to UA in Tuscaloosa, 20 minutes to Oak Mountain State Park, 20 minutes to Lay Lake, 35 minutes to downtown Birmingham

We've lived in the Montevallo area for the last 30 years where we raised our 5 children. They are now all grown and several years ago we began renting out some extra spaces in our home. Those spaces became very popular and we expanded our rentals to a much larger property nearby. Our two properties and 4 rentals are less than a mile from each other so if you are in the area with a larger group you could consider these spaces as well.
My wife, Lynita, is an artist and each of the properties contain many of her paintings / drawings as well as her other creative touches. While primarily a portrait artist many of her other paintings are available for purchase. If you'd like to see some more of her work, let us know and we'll be glad to give you a tour of her studio. From time to time she hosts art workshops at these properties so if you have an interest in attending one of these please let us know.

What makes this property unique

Our property consists of 9 acres, main house, guest house, pool and pasture. The house and cottage sit on the top of a hill overlooking a beautiful pasture. It overlooks another 31 acres of pasture, woods and a 2-acre lake. This is a very private gated property yet only 5 minutes to I-65.

We have other rental spaces on the property as well as at another location just a few minutes away. Please check with me if you need accommodations for a larger group, The spaces are filled with lots of antiques, beautiful art (for sale) and lots of unique items. From the time you arrive until the time you leave, you’ll be inspired and wishing your stay had been longer.
