Fantastic USMC reunion

The house was absolutely the way it shows on the listing. There were 14 adults staying on the property. The house was outstanding for us to spend quality time together. Plenty of room and an array of areas that we could congregate. We highly recommend this lake house.

Wonderful relaxing weekend!

We had family gathering for my father's memorial. The house was very perfect. The backyard was awsome! We didn't want to leave. Check in was easy . The owner was very nice. My niece 10 year old lost her wallet at the house. The owner called us and told us that she founded. I highly recommend this place .

Family Getaway

The beds were very comfortable. For a large gathering of people we wished there was another bathroom (even a half bath). We loved the outdoor grill. As someone mentioned in another comment, yes there were spiders and webbing, but it was all down by the decking and easily water sprayed away. We did notice quite a few wasps that we took care of with some store bought spray. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and had a great time!

Best relaxing weekend ...

First of all I wanted to say me and my family enjoyed the stay wished we stayed longer . the up dates on the house are awesome and the whole house on general in amazing . the patio and the outdoor grill and second floor to relax makes this the best place to spend the weekend or even a week .. Me and my family will be renting this place again very soon .. I recommend to anyone . i read the reviews and was a little scared bit if put my faith in it and came out surprised to this wonderful property ...

Could be an amazing spot

This place could be amazing but, it needs a lot up updates and repairs. The microwave doesn’t work, the a/c barley cools the house down, the pump for the slide don’t work, the lift for the boat needs repair, there was a pile of dirty towels in the laundry room when we got there.

Well the front porch hadn’t been swept and there were wasp nest. The house looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in awhile. There were ants all over the kitchen counters and dead and alive roaches in the house. The back deck area was filthy. Cobwebs were everywhere like it had been vacant for awhile. The location was good close to stores. We left a day early because of the bugs.

Great location

Over all our stay was good. However, there were a few minor things that were not so good. Two of the bedrooms were super hot! There was no air circulation whatsoever so the family staying in one of the rooms opted for the living room floor instead. There was also a very foul odor throughout the house. In certain spots there was a very strong odor of pet urine and in the hallway and fireplace area it smelled like a dead animal at times. The kitchen was not equipped to host a family of 18 as described in the listing. There wasn’t enough dishes or serving utensils. There were a total of 3 coffee cups in the entire house! So with 10 adults wanting coffee in the mornings, it was a challenge. The house also did not have the basics like toilet paper, paper towels or trash bags to last through our stay. The dock and swim area was perfect! The ability to use the kayaks and having extra life jackets was a plus and we definitely spent most of our time by the water. So for the most part we enjoyed our stay here!

Great lakeside lot but has major issues

Pros: Yard/lake is the best part: great seating, tables, patio, decks. Kids enjoyed the slide. Big dining table with lots of chairs inside as well as plentiful tables and seating outside. Stocked with beach towels and life jackets of all sizes. Plentiful luggage racks were nice. Cons: Everything needed a good wipe down outside and I spent an hour cleaning. Lots of spider webs and some dirt-dobber nests. We enjoyed ladder ball but the corn hole was warped. Some boards by the steps leading down to the water are rotting and our son's leg went through one of them, cutting up his knee! Jet skis are NOT available to rent. King bed was comfortable but bedding stank strongly of chemically fragrant laundry detergent. No racks for hand towels in bathrooms. Lights on bathroom are very bright and need a dimmer switch for use at night. Shower head in master bathroom had very little water pressure and was basically a drip. Toilets flush startlingly loudly. No paper towels. Curtains on dock with swings are ripped. No hanging rods or hangers in the closets. Cutting boards and knives in kitchen were flimsy. Only knives available were steak knives, making it impossible to cut anything like parsley. They need a good set of knives & some wooden cutting boards. Dishes in the kitchen cabinets were dirty. AC was not consistent, esp. in the bunk room. Property contact was competely unresponsive about my son's injury and the uncleanliness of the property. I do NOT recommend this property.

Exactly what we wanted!

We wanted a house to use to explore parts of Lake Conroe by kayak and this house was perfect. We spent much of our time on the water. Tip: If you stay here, make sure to go to the upper level of the dock to watch the sunsets. Beautiful!

Nice family weekend stay

Listing is exactly as it’s described, it’s perfect for a family weekend all together plenty of room. Just could use a deep clean and routine bug spray maintenance. Loved our stay, just a little rough around the edges. Also would have loved to be able to rent the jet skis as advertised, this is no longer an option we found out the week before our trip.

Beautiful Place on the Lake

The home was wonderful and the onsite property manager (Cosmo) was excellent and very responsive for any questions we had. The information on jetski rentals needs to be updated by VRBO (the company listed did not have permit) but Cosmo was very helpful in giving us options and we had a great time! Bunk room is outstanding for our 18-25 yo children to stay - we had 8 in there! All in all the updates to the house are wonderful - and if there was any way to add an additional powder room or half bath that would help when 18 people are staying with just two bathrooms. We loved this place!

Perfect getaway from the city

We enjoyed the ample space and updated bathrooms. The kayaks and yard games were a hit with our 3 kids (ages 12, 17, 18). The covered and upstairs docks were amazing. The home was clean and had all of the basic kitchen supplies we needed. Beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms were lovely. Plenty of clean towels were provided. We were disappointed that the jet skis were unavailable to rent as stated in our confirmation email. Upon arrival, the A/C was left at the upper 80's. We had difficulty getting the home cooled until the following morning. The bunk room was really amazing except, the A/C did not function well in that room. We could not feel any air coming out of the vents at all. I hope they can repair this because we would like to bring friends with us next time. The neighbors were quiet, and the home was located close to many gas stations, restaurants, and marinas. We look forward to renting again.

Memorial day weekend

Wonderful weekend with the family! Property was spacious to fit us all and the kayaks were a great amenity. Only issue was there was quite a few wasp nests and the spider's at dusk are scary lol but we are outdoors and on the water. Definitely enjoyed our time there !! Owner was great with communicating.

Beautiful updates, would absolutely stay here again

The property was amazing for a weekend getaway with friends. The inside has been recently updated and looks fabulous and very spacious for the 12 adults we had staying there. There are lots of games and activities for everyone to enjoy and lots of great lounge space outside. The dock is a bit old and was covered in spiderwebs, but nothing unexpected with a lake house. My only note would be to update the pictures of the interior so that folks know the new sleeping arrangements (1 King room, 2 rooms with double queens, and one bunk room with 8 twins). Would also recommend hosts provide a broom or vacuum for guests to use in the kitchen. Overall, beautiful place and lots of space for everyone to enjoy the serene lake.

Relaxation with a View

Our family came to the lake for rest and relaxation, and this was a great choice!!! The covered area on the lake was awesome, and when the rains came the large patio area worked great. Cosmo and the owners were very attentive and accommodating. We will definitely come back!

Horrible experience!!!

First of all it stinks also spiders and webs were everywhere ! We were afraid to sit at the table because the cushions on the benches were so nasty !! And we got put out with nowhere to go but back home!! I had spent so much money on food and supplies and never got a chance to use them so I have a freezer full of seafood that I wouldn’t have bought!! They only gave me part of my money back I feel like they didn’t wants us there ! We are seriously considering getting a lawyer involved!!! They were rude about it telling us to pack up and leave now ! My guest and have already decided to take this to every social media outlet ! We was ROBBED!!!

Not worth the price

First of all we passed the house coming in because I didn’t expect it to look so run down. There was a dead roach and ants everywhere in the kitchen. The house felt dirty. I had to wash things in the kitchen before I used them. The outside deck area was their only saving grace. The kayaks were awesome and the seating area was lovely. It would have been nice if starting the grill was not such a pain in the butt. They could have told us the ignite button was broken and that we needed to use a lighter which the place did not have. My father in law had to go out and buy one. It was also hard to use the tv because you had to basically change the channels standing up away from the couch. The fan in the dark room did not have a chain to adjust it so we had to listen to it rattle for two nights. We got no sleep. I just think the place does not match the price for the night. Like a said the deck and kayaks is all that was awesome so I give them two stars.

Not as portrayed and not worth the money

Where do I start? As I entered the home I was greeted by a pair of roaches and a maze of spider webs. During a 95F day, the home’s AC was set at 75F causing it to take several hours for the home to reach a tolerable 70F. The refrigerator in the house didn’t cool the way it should’ve. TVS in the house were outdated and two of them didn’t even work. Thinking the backyard would make up for the disappointment inside I was immediately let down by the fact the jet ski lift was inaccessible to the home’s guest. Likewise, the deck was covered in spiderwebs and had wasp everywhere. As far as seating goes, the layout chairs were sun rotted and should’ve been disposed and replaced a long time ago. The swings on the deck were covered in mold and dust. The grill igniter doesn’t work so you have to take the grill apart just to light it by hand. Not to mention the grill itself was disgustingly dirty. This place clearly doesn’t get looked at before guest arrived. Every picture in the description was taken with a wide angle lense making it seem much larger than the actual size. I don’t agree with the fact that it sleeps 14 comfortably, the kitchen and living area are tiny. The only reason I’m giving it two stars is cause the slide worked and the owner provided kayaks at no charge. I chose not to complain during my stay because I wanted to make the best of it but I definitely feel I should’ve been welcomed a little better for the amount of money that I was charged.

Worst VRBO EVER

I highly recommend not staying here. The house was dirty. There were cobwebs in the corners with dead dead bugs. It had cockroaches running around. The cable box was hanging off the TV and cable barely worked. We were staying with my 11 month old grandchild and he kept picking stuff off the floor and trying to put it in his mouth. We checked in on Saturday and were scheduled to stay a week. It was so disgusting, we left Monday night.

Relaxing getaway at Lake Conroe

The house was everything that was advertised with plenty of interior space, large bedrooms, nice updated kitchen and baths and a spacious outdoor area with fire pit, nice dock with summer kitchen and rooftop deck. It was the perfect house for our group with only a couple of suggestions for the owners/property managers. When we first arrived, we spent at least 30 minutes trying to figure out how to turn on the TV to watch some football games and more importantly, to make sure it was working for game 6 of the Astros/Yankees series. After 30 minutes of trying to get it to turn on, we called Cosmos and tried rebooting the modem and then tried a few things on our own we finally got it to work but it was a really frustrating process. Since the remotes are very basis and not the TV or satellite remotes, it would be very nice to have some troubleshooting directions to follow if the TV was not coming on. The only other thing I would mention is a recommendation to leave the cushions for the swings by the lake inside when not using them. They were very moldy and while the swings were enticing, no one wanted to sit on the cushions because they were so dirty. Just a couple of minor suggestions but everything else was perfect!
