About this property

A bespoke romantic retreat in the heart of the high country, breakfast included.

Lothlorien is a family owned and operated bespoke romantic luxury retreat in the heart of the Victorian High Country in Tawonga South. The fully renovated three level barn maintains the beautiful rustic exterior and a comfortable modern interior.

A full size loft bedroom with queen size bed and work space. A fully equipped kitchen with oven, stovetop, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. A cosy lounge area with two and three seat sofas. There is also a sleeping area in the lounge with a Murphy Bed, hidden by day and turns into a comfy queen size bed at night. The third bedroom with a king single and a single bed, TV, hanging space and galaxy lamp. Quality linen, pure wool blankets, towels and bath sheets, slippers and robes-are provided along with shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, soap etc. On arrival you will find milk, bottled water and butter in the fridge and a bottle of locally produced wine. Full breakfast provisions provided during your stay. Cereals, muesli, eggs, bacon, a loaf of sourdough bread and a variety of condiments.

Our aim was to create a comfortable, stylish space and provide each guest with a truly unique experience rather than just somewhere to stay. This has awarded us with consistent 5 star reviews.

A beautifully appointed holiday house

This is a lovely property with plenty of room, everything just where you want it and lots of handy provisions. Only point to note is that both double beds are in areas with no bedroom walls, so not perfect if you want soundproof privacy.

Our stay at Lothlorien was perfect. The place is beautifully appointed and clean as a whistle. The location was a stones throw from the Towonga-Mt Beauty trail making a quick ride into Mt Beauty easy. The property is so quiet and peaceful and wonderful to enjoy from the pristine jacuzzi. Beds very comfortable, shower lovely, couch cosy. Thanks for a great weekend.

Relaxing getaway

Loved the cottage Lothlorien sets in wonderful picturesque countryside, warm, comfortable and relaxing. We had enjoyed our 2 nights stay, had an excellent night’s sleeps in super comfy bed. The standard of everything is excellent providing a peaceful, tranquil place surrounded with natural beauty with a highlight of watching a variety of species such as the Bowerbirds. We enjoyed watching their unique courtship behaviour where the male built and decorated a nest with sticks and with blue objects to attract female. The garden was immaculately manicured to perfection. We would highly recommend staying at Lothlorien, beautiful cottage with a lovely touched, extremely friendly hosts Tim and Marsie, we will most definitely come back. Stafford and Jackie

Romance in a barn!

What a stunning place to stay! The bedroom is everything you dream about. A large space with a very comfy bed. You could stay there for days and pretend you are in a far away land. Extra special was the interior design, and the careful selection of elegant furniture! Lots of love has been given to this wonderful barn, romance is inevitable!

I grew up in Melbourne and always holidayed in Mount Beauty or Falls Creek and totally fell in love with the area and the community here so I decided to make the move in 2017.

Why they chose this property

I fell in love with this property as soon as I saw it. Just over an acre of magnificent gardens, orchard, and so much more. It was a must have. I love it and want to share it with others.

What makes this property unique

Peace, quiet and serenity. An abundance of wildlife, King Parrots will eat from your hand if you wish, a bird lovers paradise. Kangaroos are frequent visitors in the farm land behind Lothlorien.
