El Nido means 'The Nest'. It is a perfect place to curl up and forget about the world and its cares. Only a few minutes walk from Orgiva, with its shops, bars and restaurants, El Nido lies in the valley of the Rio Chico amidst stone walled orchards of oranges and olives. Starting from the ruins of an ancient stone farm, a local architect and interior designer created this delightful holiday home in a traditional style with modern comforts. This is fully licenced with theTourist board. Registration Number VTAR/GR/000864. Pets are welcome and garden is fully fenced. Good dog walking area. Private swimming pool.

A lovely, quiet getaway

Superbly equipped cottage that is well maintained. Clare and Ainsley are excellent hosts - ever happy to help and offer guidance. The garden is 100% dog safe which makes relaxing easier. I have no hesitation in recommending both the property and hosts. Thank you.

Fabulously chilled

Two wonderful weeks at El Nido with our eight and nine year old boys. The perfect place to unwind, read by the pool and enjoy the sunshine. Loads of good restaurants in walking distance and plenty of day trips when you want to go further afield (the white villages, the coast, Granada were the three we managed). Perfect hosts and their perfect pets looked after us beautifully - there when we needed them but nowhere to be seen when we didn't.

A perfect two-week stay

El Nido is the perfect place to relax, revive and simply enjoy the glories of the Alpujarra. The cottage is beautiful, comfortable and amazingly well-equipped, very private and with a fabulous pool. We loved the days we stayed 'home', chilling in the garden and watching the shadows change on the surrounding Sierras. Orgiva is a 10-minute walk away and has everything you need - several supermarkets, a covered market, bars and restaurants and a lively Thursday market. Clare, Ainsley and Selcuk are the best hosts, discreet but on hand to help with everything. Would we go back? We have never rebooked anywhere on our first day before but guess what - we'll be back next year!

Fijne woning met zwembad aan de rand van het dorp

Prima huis met airconditioning en 2 badkamers/ slaapkamers. Mooi aangelegde en onderhouden tuin met BBQ. Tuin is afgeschermd ideaal voor onze hondjes, en een geweldig zwembad. Alles op 10 minuten lopen vanaf het centrum .

Hemos estado muy a gusto en El Nido, disfrutando de la tranquilidad de la zona, la cordialidad de los propietarios de la vivienda, y de todo lo que ofrece esta. El hecho de encontrar, pan, cerveza y vino al llegar, es todo un detalle que nos encantó. Es un sitio ideal para ir, como nosotros hicimos, con nuestros perritos.

Casa curiosa

Es una casa curiosa porque está construida a partir de una vieja cabaña. La piscina está de maravilla con zona de solárium. El jardín es muy amplio, con zona de sombra y una hamaca entre dos árboles muy cómoda. Hemos estado muy a gusto pero por poner una pega., el frigorífico es muy pequeño. La dueña, Clare, limpia TODOS los días la piscina. Muy bien en general.

Fantásticas vacaciones

Fantástico alojamiento en medio de la naturaleza. Zona tranquila, ideal para desconectar. Hemos disfrutado mucho del entorno y del jardín y la piscina. De esta última sobre todo mis hijos d 9 y 13 años. Los dueños de la casa encantadores, hasta han cuidado de nuestra mascota. Muchas gracias por la fabulosa cena que nos preparasteis en familia y por vuestro trato tan cercano. Un sitio para recomendar a los amantes de la naturaleza.

Lugar tranquilo para descansar

El alojamiento cumple perfectamente con la expectativas del anuncio un lugar tranquilo que permite relajarse, la atención de Clare y su marido muy bien ya que aunque vive justo al lado no invaden para nada tu intimidad, la piscina perfecta. Por otra parte en principio dijimos que seriamos solo mi mujer y yo, pero a mediados de la estancia se agregaron nuestras y hijas (2) con un bebe y Clare no puso ningún problema ni tuvimos un costo adicional.

Great place!

This is a great place to stay! Owners are living next door. If you need something there are always available, otherwise you will not notice them at all (but you may find fresh vegetables from their garden in front of your door in the morning!). Lovely colourful house, nice garden and fantastic private pool. Secluded and quiet, but only a pleasant 10 minutes walk to the city center. Also: unlike many other places, you will find oil, salt, spices, coffee and other basic stuff available in the kitchen. Great service! Not to mention cold beer and wine in the fridge on your arrival. Highly recommended!

Fantastic, Quirky House Very Close To Town

We recently had the great pleasure of staying at Clare and Ainsley's lovely house known as 'El Nido' (The Nest) recently and I have to say how much we loved the place! When you first arrive you're taken in by the lovely garden and pool space with a good mixture of seating in sun and shade to cater for everyone. When you get inside El Nido you can't help but smile, it's such a lovely place. Set on different levels the house is very colourful, full of charm and plenty of character! Simply ideal for a holiday in such a lovely part of the world. Highly recommended!!

A perfect piece of heaven

We have been spending a fabulously relaxing week here at El Nido, this is our 4th visit and we'll be back next year. Claire and Ainsley are always very helpful from suggesting places to eat to experiences to enjoy. We couldn't, think of better place to experience real Spain in such a lovely cottage with smashing private pool and wonderful views of the mountains .

Ainsley and myself have lived around the Orgiva area for the last 20 plus years and have had various businesses including our holiday cottage. We live next door to the cottage and are on hand in case of need along with our dog. We look after the cottage ourselves. Ainsley is a chef and cooks meals to order and I am a reflexologist and foot health practitioner and works both in the UK and in the local area.

Why they chose this property

The area is very unspoilt as there is no industry here and we have the cleanest air in Europe. We have spanish neighbours and live in the countryside but within easy access to the local town of Orgiva and we can walk within a few minutes into town so we do not have to drive all the time. We are 454 metres above sea level and are a short drive away from the white washed villages on the southern slopes of the sierra nevada mountain range. The coast and beaches are a 30 minute drive and have larger shops and clean beaches too so we have the best of both worlds. Airports are easy to drive to as the motorway is 15 minutes away.

What makes this property unique

The cottage is very well equipped and as we are living here we can be of assistance to aid your holiday experience in case of any questions or give you help if you may need. We are to be found next door but we keep ourselves to ourselves so not to interrupt your holidays and we make sure the pool and garden are kept clean before you awake!
We have really good internet access with wifi in the cottage.
