The nearest beach is a 10 minute stroll to the end of the road, where you will find the sheltered bay of San Agustin. There is a beautiful promenade which will take you right to Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas, but if you want to stay in the bay there is a wonderful beachside restaurant to cater for all your needs.
Las Palmas airport is 15 minutes by car.
There are many towns a little further on down the coast road and these offer facilities for all tastes. If you are hiring a car there are wonderful villages and mountain ranges to explore, where you will experience the more original parts of Gran Canaria.
The local supermarket is a 5 minute walk away and there are 2/3 local restaurants, a car hire office, (although this is not necessary) a hairdressers and the small hospital that services this part of the island. There are always taxis available outside the hospital and there are main buses on the coastal road to take you in either direction of the island.
