Casa Mihrab is a beautiful, lovingly restored four storey town house situated less than 3 minutes from the centre of the village with amazing views of the castle, mountains, Gibraltar and Africa. It is an attractively furnished home with Wifi and satellite TV ( English and Spanish) to keep connected if you wish, while providing a real escape and flavour of Spain with original beams, open fire, white washed walls, exposed stone and terracotta floors. The top floor, secluded south facing terrace is ideal for sunbathing and alfresco dining, and the smaller covered terrace is perfect for a leisurely breakfast. The open plan kitchen/ diner is well equipped for the keen cook and there is a BBQ, but a variety restaurants, cafes and tapas bars are all available an easy walk away to ensure a leisurely stay. Lots of fresh local produce available including fantastic butcher and two excellent Deli’s. The living room is spacious with fully recessing doors opening to the Terrace on the top floor with all the views. The bedrooms are on the ground and lower ground floors facing the rear of the property each with Juliet balcony and either ensuite or bathroom next door. Organic toiletries provided. Quality Egyptian linens afford an extra degree of comfort to our guests.Ideal spacious accommodation for a couple or up to 4 people. Free Parking is available immediately outside the house or within a few minutes walk.

Gaucin is a lovely village & our stay at Casa Mihrab (Charming House) was great. It was very central with lots of restaurants nearby. The views from the terrace were spectacular. We would certainly stay again.

Beautiful Gaucin

We enjoyed our stay in this unique house. Gaucin is a beautiful, friendly and peaceful village. The views over the valley are stunning. The kitchen has a lot of the basics many other properties do not have - spices, oils, teas, tinfoil, etc., which we appreciated. Be prepared for several flights of stairs - good exercise after eating out in the lovely restaurants! We would definitely visit again.

As good as we remembered

We had fond memories of our previous stay in this lovely house a few years ago and I'm glad to say our return visit in August was just as enjoyable. The house is perfectly located on the lower part of the village for an easy stroll to the shops, restaurants and bars and car parking is easier than for houses located further into the village. The house is spotlessly clean and furnished with everything you need for your comfort. Throw in the wonderful view over the campo from the terrace and you've got one helluva holiday experience.

Lovely house with great views

Well presented and well-equipped. The (soft) double bed and balcony views from the top floor were standouts in this accommodation. This property extends to 4 levels so a lot of steps involved. Great week, would come back again. Gaucin is a great destination for a relaxing holiday.

Casa Mihrab is an absolute gem in an idyllic location.

Casa Mihrab has everything you need for the perfect relaxing holiday. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need and the basement bedroom had the most calming spa like feel, a lovely place to rest after a hot day. The icing on the cake for us was the upstairs living area looking out to the Village and Mountains. I curled up on the comfy sofa looking out at the breathtaking scenery listening to Flamenco, bliss! A perfect delightful village house.

Fabulous

We ended up staying here at short notice when our previous property was cancelled at the last minute. We are all so delighted that this happened, what a find!! Great little property, lovely terrace and a delightfully cool bedroom to sleep in during the hot July nights. We are returning to the Casa Mihrab next year and frankly for years to come!!

Lovely property with wonderful views

The property was clean and provided everything needed for a comfortable stay. The house is nicely decorated and the views from the balcony and sun terrace were outstanding. There are 4 floors in the house so would not recommend to anyone with mobility issues, otherwise I cannot praise Casa Mihrab highly enough. We had a lovely stay in Gaucin.

Lovely place to stay - highly recommended

What a cosy little house - perfect for a truly relaxing holiday! The house is ideally located, in the centre of a beautiful "white village" in the Andaldusian mountains. Restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance and the kitchen is well-equipped, so you can decide between eating in and going out. Sitting on the roof terrace, sipping a glass of wine and enjoying the fantastic views was heavenly. What we loved most was that the village did not feel touristy at all, despite being only 30 minutes from the coast. We loved every minute of our stay. HIghly recommended!

Enjoy Gaucin

It is a very pleasant house! You really live in the center of the beautiful village. The beds are good and the house is cosy, well furnitured. Beautiful view from the terrace upstairs. We were very happy in the house and we did have a beautiful week there! One little thing is that we would like to have the possibility to make some shade on the upper terrace.

Relatively pleasant stay

The house is adequately furnished but as it is not airconditioned, it gets warm at night and there are many mosquitoes and insects. We get quite few nasty bites that cause itch that last couple of days. Thus be sure to bring mosquitoes repellent or oilment when you are staying during the summer.

Typically Spanish Home

We recently had a fantastic holiday at Casa Mirab! It is a beautiful home that is well equipped with a cosy and homely feel about it. The interior is typically Spanish and the views from the roof terrace are to die for! We found that the view changed every day or we would notice something different to look at. It is truly mesmerising. The upper sitting room was where we spend the most time, it had a lovely cosy feel about it. The location is fantastic as it is very central and local amenities are only a walk away. Would definitely recommend this property! A wonderful place to stay.

Beautiful

Just returned from a stay at this house and loved it. The interior is gorgeous, beautifully and tastefully furnished, and the location is perfect - only a short walk from the centre of the village, yet just far away enough to be peaceful. The views from the rooftop are mesmerising and watching the swallows swoop and dive in the early morning light was one of my favourite times of day. The village itself is very pretty and there are several bars and restaurants within a short stroll from the house.

We love Gaucin which we think ( and of course we are biased!) is one of the most beautiful white villages, but also unique beacause of the views of Gibraltar and Morocco, and its position with regard to the migration of birds to and from Africa with the change of the seasons. It is an amazing sight. Also the birds of prey that live here are breathtaking every time you see them fly over. Walking in the surrounding countryside is a real treat - you can walk for miles without seeing another person. The convenience and great facilities available in the village are a real bonus and mean once you get to a Gaucin you can relax immediately. angenehmes Haus mit Superaussicht

Das Haus ist sehr zentral gelegen, ausreichend Lokale und Restaurants für Frühstück und Abendessen sind in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Bei guter Sicht kann man von der Terrasse Gibraltar und sogar die marokkanische Küste sehen.

A lovely house in a beautiful area of Andalusia

We have visited Gaucin a number of times but this was our first stay in this property. The weather in May was very warm but we managed to do some lovely walks around the village and surrounding area. A brilliant time of year for wild flowers, butterflies and bird watching. The house was very comfortable and well equipped. We particularly liked the views from the terrace on the top floor. It is on four levels and the climb from the bottom bedroom to the roof terrace would not suit everybody but for us it added to the charm and character. Although Gaucin has many good places to eat we ate in quite a few nights either cooking for ourselves or buying in a take away from the fantastic delicatessen which is a short walk away.
