Guests at the Villa Danica enjoy the deep seclusion of over 2,000 sq m of lush, subtropical gardens with mature trees, flowering shrubs, giant palms... vibrant colours and scents to a backdrop of birdsong. Stretch yourself in the 42 foot heatable pool, relax in the Finnish sauna, or enjoy a cook-out at the poolside barbecue. Spotlights and ambient lighting may illuminate the gardens at night. From the sunny terrace you have far-reaching views across the Mediterranean, to the ‘Gates of Hercules’ (Gibraltar Straits) as far as North Africa. The villa is an older style andalucian property with high vaulted ceilings in some of the rooms. The open-plan interior is furnished with leisure in mind and is tastefully decorated with original artwork. Picture windows exploit the stunning views.
Within walking distance or a five minute drive, are many good restaurants, cafes and bars, a clean beach, cosmopolitan yacht harbour and several golf courses. The local village has good supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, eating and drinking haunts... all the home comforts in the Mediterranean sun.

We spent two absolutely wonderful weeks in this beautiful villa and can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, peace, and a truly special atmosphere!The house is spacious, very well equipped, with a lovely terrace and a gorgeous garden – perfect for relaxing with family or friends.The location is quiet yet very convenient – close to beaches, shops, and local attractions.Kristin was extremely friendly and helpful, and communication with her was smooth and easy.The villa was spotlessly clean and exactly as shown in the pictures – perhaps even better in real life!We would definitely recommend this holiday home and would love to return in the future!

A really beautiful villa and wonderful pool!

We have recently returned from staying in Kristina's villa for a fortnight starting in July 2022. We are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers, and my mother joined us mid-way for what was an amazing holiday. The villa is beautiful - very spacious and well equipped - the rooms were all clean, the interior design is lovely with painted murals on some of the walls, and comfortable beds, linen and towels. There is air conditioning in all the bedrooms and large main living space and much needed. One of the air conditioning units was not working on our arrival - Kristina liaised with us and the maintenance company promptly and with confirmation it was not fixable, a brand new one was installed during our stay - I would be reassured if there were other problems that might crop up (there weren't for us) she would be equally responsive judging from this experience. I would suggest locks on the bathroom doors, but the bathrooms were clean, and the water pressure great for showers. The patio area from the main living area is just like the pictures on the website! - incredible views, a big awning and comfortable sofas. Mosquito spray is needed as the temptation is to stay out there long into the evening! The pool is absolutely amazing - very large, well maintained and was the main focus for our days with sunbeds, an outside shower and a large sun umbrella! There is a room in the downstairs area, accessed from outside with a mixture of inflatables, and some parasols for the days when you might drag yourself away from the pool to go the beach! The nearest beach is directly down from the residential complex and accessed over a footbridge, about a 15 minute walk. The beach is pretty with palm trees, low key, the usual showers, and a restaurant that is popular (we hadn't booked) but they do sell ice creams too. There are some good walks in the area - we holidayed during the heatwave and only managed the one starting from Casares - the old town which is in the hills and worth a trip in itself, but in cooler weather there were a lot of fantastic typical Andalucian walks I would return for but not in July/August! Gibraltar is only about a 40 minute drive and worth a visit - a lot to walk and see on the Rock, all included in the price to go (it is a nature reserve) so worth going early in the day. The macaques are quite something and free range in the reserve! I would love to visit Kristina's villa again - it was a perfect holiday and she was a perfect host - thank you!

Villa qui pourrait être très bien mais mal entretenue

Benoit B. Positif Villa avec une très belle vue. Le jardin est splendide et assure une tranquillité et une intimité. Villa très bien situé pour visiter la région. Négatif Trop de petits irritants ont nuis à notre séjour: - À notre arrivée l'eau chaude, un des climatiseurs, le grille pain et un moustiquaire ne fonctionnaient pas; - Il manquait un pommeau de douche dans une des salle de bain; - De nombreuses ampoules étaient brûlées (extérieur et intérieur); - J'adore cuisiné sur un BBQ au charbon de bois mais j'ai du arranger le support à charbon pour qu'il soit fonctionnel et les ustensiles à BBQ devraient plus adéquats. - Nous avons mangé tous les soirs à la table près du BBQ ce qui aurait pu être un point positif tellement le coin est charmant. Cependant, la table et les chaises à côté du BBQ devraient changées pour une meilleure ambiance (trop vieilles). Nous recommandons un accès à la piscine et au jardin autrement que par passer par les chambres. Conclusion J'ai loué plus d'une vingtaine de villas à travers le monde et c'est la première fois que j'ai demandé une ristourne (par principe) pour compenser tout ces irritants compte tenu du coût de location. Ristourne qui m'a été refusée car la propriétaire me prétendait ne pas avoir été mis au courant de ces problèmes avant notre arrivée. Cependant, quand je lis les commentaires de Patricia B. (précédant locataire, 2 semaines avant notre arrivée), il est clair que les problèmes étaient connu du propriétaire et que rien n'avait été fait pour remédier à la situation.

I hope having rated this property 3 stars out of 5, that this review will not be removed like the others whom gave 1 star out of 5. I believe all potential guests are not having the opportunity to read informative and useful reviews. Negatives -We were informed the cleaner cleaned for 6 hours prior to our arrival; dusty floors, smeared mirrors and sticky work surfaces told a different story. Had to purchase cleaning agents and cloths, subsequently cleaning the house ourselves. Sofas sticky, cushions stained, curtains broken and stained, we used any relatively clean covers we found in the cupboards to cover the seating. -Quickly understood why there were no pictures of the second bathroom. This was not a place we wanted to venture; deep stained tiles, rusty bath tub, crusty shower head. Other shower head in the master bathroom broke when we tested the shower (at least the owner told us we showed initiative in switching the showers heads around, good motivation for us - the employees… I mean guests!). Villa can accommodate 6, however, having the only bathroom available inside the master bedroom to be used by 6 people, not adequate/appropriate. -Many lights not working inside and outside. -AC units very old and noisy if sitting outside. Lounge AC leaked water onto the terrace which made it dangerous with slipping. end bedroom AC not working. Master bedroom AC would leak water inside leaving us needing to lay down towels. -Pool lights did not work, so the evening swim was not on the schedule. The filter system had cracked and were told when we arrived and contacted the owner that the water level had to be below the filter level. This in turn meant having to use the filter stick-net and clean it myself often. The photo on the advert shows a fully functioning pool, which is a misrepresentation. The sauna, situated between pool inflatables/furniture, did not look fit for use nor safe. Positives -Fantastic views. Sitting on the terrace in the evening looking out, definitely made us temporarily forget the multiple negatives of the villa. -Privacy. Beautiful trees and plants, pleasantly surrounding you in all directions. Very private and quiet. -Well stocked kitchen. Overall, the villa is of an old style, but old as in somewhat neglected, substandard and dirty. Because of the above/price taken into consideration, we will not be staying there again.

Amazing holiday, fabulous property

This was our 5th visit to the villa, and as usual we were not disappointed. The pool, the views and the amenities within the villa made for a fabulous two week vacation of rest, relaxation and family fun. Villa location is also superb, as we could go to the beach within minutes and eat at numerous local restaurants. The highlight for us is the outside space, the pool, being the biggest we have ever found for a rented villa holiday, the tropical gardens and the balcony area which is perfect for that end of day glass of wine while looking out to Gibraltar & North Africa. Superb!

Mooie lokatie, echter onderhoud woning slecht en gedateerd.

Vele mankementen aan gedateerd huis 1 van de 2 douches kapot Toilet/ afvoer verstopt/lekt. Was al langer maar niet opgelost.Hierdoor onderlopen vloer badkamer ook bij douchen. Dus ook deze douche alleen te bebruiken bij veel handdoeken op vloer. Beveiligingshekken tegen inbraak slecht of niet te openen, dus vluchtweg bij evt brand dicht. Schuifdeur richting tuin zwaar klemmend Verlichting terras afwezig, in zwembad kapot Huisdieren: hagedissen en enkele kakkerlak. Meubels tuin beste tijd gehad. Toilet boven ook matig werkend. Wifi? Karig en niet schoon servies etc. Kortom gevraagd bedrag en aantal sterren niet waard. Ondanks dit en meerdere andere kleine mankementen toch fijne vakantie gehad. Indien huis optimaal onderhouden wordt is het een diamantje maar nu maximaal 2 sterren. Referenties in boek in huis goed, echter tot 2015 en veel blaadjes uitgescheurd.

Stunning views, wonderful pool, a home from home

Villa Danica offered me and my family absolute tranquillity. The children loved the huge, beautifully kept private pool. The parents enjoyed supping champagne on the upper terrace overlooking the Mediterranean sea to the African continent! My child watched spellbound as dolphins leapt behind a small shipping boat directly in front of us! Quite lovely. On arrival the villa was clean, refreshingly cool and with all of the beds made up. We had e-mailed in advance a shopping list which had been neatly put away in the fridge and kitchen cupboards. The owner had purchased a new smart 3D TV and dvd player since our last visit to this beautiful property, as well as broadband - this helped keep the youngsters entertained in the evenings. And were any of our group ever tempted to leave the comfort of the villa, the local beach or playa was a short walk down the hill. Numerous chiringuitos peppered the sands with the ability to walk along the beach for miles in either direction. We will definitely be back later in the year! Thank you.

Villa Danica in Bahia de Caseres

We had the most wonderful week. The villa was perfect - even better than we had anticipated. The view from the terrace in the sunshine is stunning, the pool is so refreshing, everything is was fantastic. And it is so quiet - we hardly heard a sound from any of the neighbouring villas all week. We very much hope that we will be able to return to Villa Danica soon.
