Guests can Self Check In at our property
We can only accept children under the age of 3 and age 12 and over.
Less than 5 mins walk, on proper pavements with streetlighting, to restaurants (including Moorish and Traditional Spanish), bars, supermarkets and pharmacy, but completely private sitting in 2000 square metres of land. Walking distance to 2 other villages with restaurants, shops, bars and banks. The beautiful beaches of Nerja, Torre del Mar and Algarrobo are within 20-25 mins drive. The house is accessed by tarmac road, so no need to rent a 4x4 vehicle. The house is well equipped and furnished and is maintained by a local British couple. The property is light and airy in the summer but cosy in the winter with a wood burning stove and warm aircon units. Archez is a 1 hour drive from Malaga airport and 1.5 hours to Granada and 2.5 hours to Seville. The villages of Canillas de Albaida and Corumbella are within walking distance. The resorts of Nerja and Torre del Mar are half an hour away. Skiing in the Sierra Nevada is 2 hours drive and there are two 18 hole golf courses within easy drive. Absolutely no animals are permitted in our home

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Clean, dry and store all used crockery, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans, baking trays and utensils
Strip beds and place used bed linen and towels on top of the sofa in the lounge
Switch off air conditioning and TV and place the remotes in their holders. Leave the property no later than 10am
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Children from 3 to 12 years are not allowed to accommodate at the property. We provide the travel cot for babies from 0-2 years.
Bookings Cannot be Transferred To Third Party Only the guests notified to the owners, at time of booking, may occupy the house, garden and pool area.
All visitors to our property must register online with the Guardia Civil to comply with Spanish legislation. Instructions to do this will be provided

Lovely villa with all that you need, even tv with UK terrestrial channels for those who cannot do without. Great views to enjoy looking at with a gin and tonic. Walk to Archez and back had two walks, one very steep but short and one longer but less strenuous. We mixed it up depending how we felt! Great places to visit nearby, within an hour, Competa, Sayalonga, Frigilana and Nerva.

Great place

We had the most chilled out stay in this lovely villa up on a hillside in Archez. The villa has everything you could need ( including English TV channels), it’s great for that get away from it all and just relax type of holiday.

Beautiful location, beautiful scenery

Very private property in a lovely village. Good location to visit surrounding white villages and only half an hour from nearest beaches. Lovely walks in surrounding area and a good few restaurants to choose from in surrounding villages if you are there for a longer period of time. Would highly recommend staying here.

We have had quite an increase in the number of autumn and winter guests staying for 4-8 weeks. Particularly those who live in countries that are very cold in the winter. It is the perfect weather for walking and there is a local walking group that visitors are welcome to join. My favourite beach in the area is at Torre del Mar and they have a good weekly market there too I am glad that you enjoyed the local restaurants, so much better value that higher priced restaurants on the coast

This is a gem of place - and the check in process and communication with the owners is just perfect. Please note that while it is just 5 mins from the village/restaurants, the 10 min walk up the hill back to the villa will burn more than 2000 calories. It is steep! In the evening this is ok but during the hot midday sun it is impossible. The villa has everything you need - pool towels, comfy beds and every condiment under the sun. The village restaurants are fantastic and the locals are super friendly. The only negative for us was the number of barking dogs in the village - this often took away from the peace and tranquility of the setting when they started talking to each other.

I wish that the hill would burn off 2000 calories and I would at least have a chance of leaving Árchez the same weight as I was when I arrived 😂 There is a much gentler way to walk to our house from the village, but a few minutes longer. We have a short video of it on our Facebook page. I usually walk up the steep way tbh as it keeps me fit, but a few of our guests prefer the longer way. There are definitely dogs barking in the summer, because they are too hot or picking up the sound of fiestas that are too far away for us to hear but dogs can hear. Sadly, some of them have no owners and we have a collecting tin on our fireplace for a local animal rescue to collect small change for them. I am glad that you enjoyed our local restaurants and our friendly neighbours. Tourists are positively welcomed in Árchez

Blissful Escape

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Flores and found everything satisfactory. The kitchen was well equipped and the bed was comfortable. The trip up and down the mountain was an adventure and the local restaurants and people were lovely and the prices were really reasonable though we found the generous portion sizes too much for us. The pool was divine and we spent so much time in it due to the weather being so hot. The sun beds were good quality and with very comfortable cushions as an addition. A parasol to shade under would be a welcome addition by the pool. It was a lovely way to spend our 40th wedding anniversary and the thoughtful touch of the card and sweets were well received. Thank you so much to our hosts.

My wife and I recently stayed at Casa De Flores and had a really enjoyable stay. The house is situated in a stunning location overlooking the village of Archez and the surrounding hills. La Casa de Flores

Excellent villa in a quite location overlooking Archez. The villa is well equipped and comfortable set in lush gardens. The pool is well maintained and ideal for splashing around in and having fun. The road up to the villa is very steep and you need a car and be willing to drive on Spanish mountain roads. This is perfect for a quite getaway and a relaxing holiday.

I know that you were not intending to go out much in your car as, like me ,you were taking plenty of books to read in the sun. Many of our guests come without a car and either have airport transfers from Maria or take the bus from Malaga Bus Station depending on their flight times. I go to Árchez ,on my own , every winter and I never book a car. I use the local restaurants and local supermarkets and if I want to walk along the beautiful promenade at Torre del Mar, I walk up to Canillas de Albaida and take the bus. We have driven a lot in the English Lake District, Guernsey and the Scottish Highlands and find the roads to be very similar to rural Spain. Best Regards Margaret

Lovely Casa with great views over Archez

We had ten very relaxing days at La Casa de Flores which is a lovely very well kept property perched on the hillside overlooking Archez. Very easy to relax on the veranda with a glass of wine watching the birds, views (and chameleon). Lovely walks take you to the two neighbouring towns of Canillas de Albaida and Competa, both with plenty of bars and restaurants. Thank you Margaret for your help and great communication - we’re already looking forward to a return visit!

Family of fours stayed for a week. Had a fab time. Pool was great - not massive but big/deep enough for four adults to have fun. Fantastic views over the nearby valley and villages. The villa is very private not overlooked by anyone. Árchez is a beautiful village with a few restaurants and bars. The owner (Margaret) is easy to communicate, very helpful with lots of great advice. All and all, we had a great family holiday in La Casa De Flores.

A pool is absolutely essential in the summer when the temperatures are high, I am glad that you enjoyed it. Relaxing holiday home.

We have just returned from our two week stay at this lovely holiday house. We had a great time. The property has everything you could wish for. The new addition of air con was great, as we had very high temperatures. The house is in a lovely location, with bars, restaurants and shops all nearby. We hired a car and visited lots of the surrounding villages and towns. Margaret was a brilliant host, with lots of helpful advice. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone, Thanks

Just perfect

Communication with Margaret prior to going was great, lots of helpful information received. The villa and grounds are even more beautiful than the pictures show. The most perfect place to relax and escape from the hustle and bustle! Archez is very pretty and has a few bars and an amazing restaurant, Venta El Curro, which we were told is the best restaurant in the area. It was great as we were able to walk there, which only took five minutes. There is a stunning walk way just a few minutes from the villa to the next village, which was just breathtaking. My husband and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to our friends and family and will most definitely be returning!

Hi Michelle, thank you for your lovely comments, it was a real pleasure to have you stay with and the lovely message that you sent me on your last night was very much appreciated. I am glad that you mentioned the riverside walkway, it was closed in May when we were there, as part of the barrier had been damaged by a storm in April. Many of our visitors have told us how lovely it is and we are hoping to find out in a few weeks! We love the restaurant Venta el Curro, and always have our first meal there when we arrive and our last before we leave again. You are more than welcome to return at any time in the future. Why they chose this property

After viewing 14 properties in 3 days, we fell in love with this one as soon as we came through the gates. The gardens and terraces are beautiful and the views are absolutely stunning. Because we are driving a lot at work we wanted to be within walking distance of at least 1 restaurant and 1 supermarket. We are lucky enough to be able to walk to 3 restaurants and 2 supermarkets in our own village and a similar number in the next village. I often travel to our villa alone and wanted to have somewhere that was private but not isolated. The real deciding factor though, was the warmth of the local people. Our village is a small Spanish community where the most valuable assets are family and friends.

What makes this property unique

The fact that the village is very self contained means that we don't always need to rent a car as we can buy everything that we need locally. If we want to take a trip to Granada, Seville etc we will rent a car, but if not, Maria, the local taxi driver, will collect us at the airport and take us back there at the end of our holiday. The majority of our returning guests do not rent a car now.
