About this property
Stunning views of the Luberon close to Gordes 4 bed Family House and pool
The house is situated amongst a hectare of olives with beautiful views of the Luberon.
The sitting room is the feature of the house with vaulted ceiling and a large open fireplace. Light coloured stone floors throughout keep the house cool The 4 bedrooms are light and airy, fitted with ceiling fans. Two of which have en suite shower rooms. There is also a family shower room upstairs and a bathroom downstairs near the fourth bedroom. The 3 upstairs rooms have air conditioning. The downstairs room is much cooler and we find the fan is sufficient
The kitchen is modern and well equipped, with a SMEG range and air conditioning .
There is a table large enough for everyone to eat around. There is an additional open dining room beside the terrace for very hot days, although we usually eat at the table on the terrace under the tree
The 10 metre heated pool is surrounded by ample sunbeds for everyone, which can be placed in full sun or under a shady umbrella
If you having cocktails before lunch or dinner, you can sit on the comfy wicker sofa and chairs, alternatively go to the west facing sundeck
We have recently built a sundeck in the trees, completely hidden from view but with breathtaking sunset vistas
This area is full of unspoilt hill top villages with their weekly markets, to explore either by car, foot or on bicycle.
Gordes and Menerbes within 5 miles. Les Baux and Les Alpilles are 45 minutes away, or if you feel like a day beside the sea, Cassis is just over an hours drive. Electric and mountain bikes can be rented from the many shops in the village.
If you would rather go on horse back there is horse trekking from an ecole d'equitation a few kilometres away.

About the host
Hosted by Amanda Lakin

We live mainly in the country in Sussex. My husband is a production designer and Fireworks technician. He was responsible for the Queens Jubilee display . He was also winner of the Cannes fireworks.
I have several properties in the UK, which I manage.
My husband was trained as an architect and now has his own event production business
My parents built the house 40 years ago, as a holiday house and we have all spent time at the property every summer since.
Our children were brought up from babyhood with holidays at the house and now return with their own friends.

Why they chose this property
We love this area as it is peaceful but there are things to do, canoeing, bicycling, walking or just visiting all the beautiful ancient hilltop villages with their individual weekly markets. The relaxed restaurants and bistrots with mainly local cuisine.

What makes this property unique
The house is very peaceful with modern amenities and very easy to manage with stone floors throughout. It is hidden from view of the neighbouring houses by the surrounding trees. There is over an acre of olive groves to explore.
