Villa Maistrali overlooks the Ionian sea, private in its extensive mature gardens and orchards of olive and almond - with panoramic sea views from every room and the terraces. The pool is walk in, shallow end one metre.
There are extensive opportunities for water sports, sailing, fishing, small boat hire tennis and walking. The villa comfortably sleeps 8 to 9 people, (the ninth guest, a child under twelve), in four en-suite bedrooms.
This contemporary Eco house was designed by an English architect and is built, furnished and equipped to the highest standards The attention to detail is meticulous - with Egyptian cotton percale linens, towels and robes - Organic Greek Korres toiletries and a comprehensive range of extra services.
Treat Maistrali as your own. The villa is fully serviced and maintained by our house manager and his team who are there to ensure that your holiday is worry free.
A number of beautiful uncrowded beaches are minutes away and the picturesque fishing village of Agios Nicholaos where there are excellent beach tavernas and where you can catch the Cephalonia ferry.

A week in paradise

The property is meticulously kept and is a lovely oasis. We had everything we needed and loved our time there. This is our second time staying at this home and it was just as wonderful as we had remembered!

Paradise

We had an amazing stay for two weeks. For one week we had our three daughters their partners and our grandson and there was plenty of room inside and out for everyone to have their own space. The pool was lovely and the local tavernas were amazing. We had a hire car which is a must and would come again if we were a large group.

It was a beautiful villa with a very kind housekeeper Giorgos. The pool and the house were very well taken care of. The kitchen had a good equipment, enough plates, glasses and other utensils. It was a pleasant stay over there.

Lovely villa in a stunning location

The villa is very comfortable and has everything you need for a long stay. The garden and pool area are fabulous and the view is absolutely stunning. Giorgio the house manager was extremely helpful and was on hand whenever we needed him. We loved our two weeks here and will definitely come back soon.

Jane and Robert’s continuing love affair with Zakynthos began 40 years ago when they toured the island’s mountainous chalk roads on motor bikes and were blown away by the stunning scenery and crystal clear blue Ionian sea. They vowed to come back one day. In 2000 they bought a beautiful piece of land with magnificent sea views and built a wonderful Eco house. This they designed and brought to life with the help of an English architect friend. Jane managed the project and spent nine months living with the builders to see it through. In 2006 the house was featured on ‘Grand Designs’
We would like guests to share the stunning natural beauty of the island, and the local community of Volimes and their friendliness and old fashioned Greek hospitality.

Why they chose this property

We have always had a a love affair with Greece and the people, we have been on holiday to Greece since we were students and in turn brought our family. In 2000 we had a marvelous holiday on Zakynthos and this encouraged us to come back and buy the land where we built Maistrali .The area is an EU designated area of outstanding natural beauty. The combination of sea and mountains and the views of Cephalonia make Maistrali as exciting today as it ever was and we are delighted to share this with our guests.

What makes this property unique

Spell binding views of the Ionian sea and the Mediterranean landscape falling away down the hills to the sea. The climate in spring, summer and early autumn is just perfect. Warm in the day and cool enough to sleep well at night with a refreshing westerly breeze that Maistrali with its airy bright interiors and terraces takes advantage of.
Total, privacy, silence, space, comfort, a tremendous feeling of well being all guests needs meticulously provided, everything for your needs, everything works
. Close by unspoilt beaches, sports, restaurants ,bars and entertainment. The local people are hospitable and genuinely welcoming. There is no mass tourism at the north of Zakynthos.
