About this property

Beautiful and well equipped semi-detached villa in an enchanting setting. Nice south/south-west terrace under an old cork-tree for meals, and for full-moon amateurs. Four house levels + lower garden levels, large pool (11 x 5m), barbecue, WI-FI internet access, satellite TV, CD and DVD players. Water softener, and solar panels for heating the water (hot water deposit of 300 liters). Tamariu is a charming small fishing port without high rise apartments nor complexes with a small sandy "croissant" bay and promenade containing excellent Spanish bars and restaurants. Palafrugell with its daily market and supermarkets is 6km from the villa. Gerona (and its airport) lies at 1 hour drive (Barcelona-French border autopista), Barcelona at 125km. The region offers a large range of activities all year round: sports, culture, history, gastronomy, shopping and relaxation. The climate is very nice all year round. The (nearest) excellent tennis club with 19 courts is at 3km. There are 3-4 golf courses within a 30 min. drive, and 7-8 golf courses all together within one hour drive.

Why they chose this property

The first time I came to Tamariu with my late husband and newborn baby was in 1978, and it was love at first sight. We came back with another baby for summer holidays during nearly 20 years; we just never got enough of it. After moving from Lausanne to Barcelona in 2001 I started looking for a house on the coast. When I visited five houses in Tamariu with my daughters in one single day, this was the last one, and there was this immediate feeling of well being, and serenity. No more searching was necessary.

What makes this property unique

According to Feng shui the villa sits perfectly in the nature as there is a green zone with pine trees below the property overlooking the sea, and in the back there is a mountain. Very calm. On the hottest days there is a blissful breeze from the sea, which makes the lunches so enjoyable on the terrace under the natural shadow of the cork tree.
