This beautifully restored farmhouse (@1840), with a private heated pool and air-conditioned bedrooms, offers an ideal base for family holidays. Set in its own spacious grounds it provides a safe, secure environment with a heated pool.

The house is a 2 minute drive from the village of Sulignat with a shop and restaurant. It is a 10-15 mins drive from the beautifully preserved medieval town of Chatillon sur Chalaronne with supermarkets, pharmacy, shops, restaurants, bars, award winning weekly market and tourist attractions such as the old hospital, old pharmacy, museum of life in the Dombes.

On the south-facing side of the house a 28 sq.m sunny terrace overlooks the 10 x 5 metre heated swimming pool. The terrace has a sun screen, dining tables and chairs. The pool has sun loungers, reclining chairs and a solar shower. The ground floor comprises a large (35 sq.m) kitchen/dining room, comfortable lounge, spacious entrance hall, separate dining room, utility room (with shower) and WC. Upstairs there are 4 large double bedrooms (2 with en-suite shower), a main bath & shower room and a 12sq.m mezzanine. All beds have good quality mattresses and bedlinen. The area is ideal for exploring on foot, by bike or by car. Golf, tennis, horse riding, boating and wine-tasting are all within 15 mins drive.

Chez Odile et Colin was the perfect base from which to immerse oneself in La France Profonde and to explore the Crus villages of the Beaujolais . The house easily accommodated our party of four couples , the kitchen was well equipped and the pool and various seating areas were perfect . Anaïs the Concierge was a pleasure to deal with , promptly and with good humour sorting out a technical glitch with the pool cover and a gas bottle renewal. “ Haut de gamme “ , in short , and we hope to come back soon . Effortless holiday

My family and one other (4 adults, 4 teenagers) had the pleasure of staying one week in this lovely, fully equipped holiday home. The online photos and description do not give justice to the house, it was spacious, well maintained and everything we hoped it would be. The pool and garden/ patio area are fabulous; living area, bedrooms and kitchen had everything we needed and more. Anais the agent was very welcoming and met us at the property to give us a guided tour and explain how everything worked. During the week we had a minor issue with the temperature of the hot water; this was rectified very promptly the same day it was reported and did not affect our stay. Location is good, plenty of pretty towns and villages to visit close by if you can drag yourself away from the pool. Five stars.

Wonderful house for stay with family

We spend 10 days with our family. The house is spacious, beds are good, the kitchen well equipped, the garden wonderful, and the pool great. The environment is very quiet, so good place to have a very relaxing holiday. Support for all our questions was excellent. Several nice places to visit in the environment. We can fully recommend this house.

wunderschönes Haus

Wir hatten eine tolle Woche in diesem ganz besonderen Haus. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich, im Kühlschrank standen Grundlebensmittel drin. Es war sehr sauber und gepflegt. Der Pool ist beheizt, so dass man sogar an kälteren Tagen problemlos ein paar Runden schwimmen kann. Wirklich ein tolles Ferienhaus, wir kommen sicher wieder einmal!

Charming and Comfortable Farmhouse

We have stayed at this beautiful and relaxing country house three times now, both in a larger group of 8 and as a family with our two children (now 14 and 10). The house is absolutely charming, it has been carefully refurbished and it is very well equipped and comfortable in every way. The garden is lovely and private and the pool and the associated outdoor dining area is large and feels very fresh and clean. We are also really impressed by how welcome we feel every time we visit, there are basics like spices, milk, eggs etc on arrival and Colin and Odile are extremely helpful and friendly. It is the perfect place to relax. This year, the weather wasn't great for the whole week, but the huge size of the house meant that none of us got on top of each other and there were plenty of places to creep off for some quiet time or to play games etc. Although the location is very rural and peaceful, Lyon is less than one hour away and provides all the cultural and historical interests of a large international city as well as it's exceptional culinary tradition. Vonnas, the home village of famous chef Georges Blanc, is well worth a visit, only 10 minutes away. The little town is very pretty and it has an excellent bakery who make fantastic croissants and fig bread. Having said that, in general you don't want to leave this place when you are there. The photos tell the tale, and the description of the house is very modest.

Fabulous Farmhouse for total relaxation!

I chose Colin and Odile's Farmhouse for a weeks holiday for my family. The house was beautiful and equipped for everything you could possibly need, including high chair/cot etc for my granddaughter. The pool came in very handy with the hot weather and we enjoyed more than one BBQ on the terrace. The house is perfectly located to visit the surrounding towns - Lyon, Chatillion Sur Charlerone, Vonnas though you do need a car. We had the most relaxing week just what the doctor ordered. Good food, good wine and beautiful surroundings! Colin and Odile were a pleasure to deal with and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be recommending.

Fabulous country house

My family and I stayed at Chris and Odile's beautiful country home for two weeks in late June 2014. We have five children, including a newborn, and wanted somewhere to relax and enjoy our last couple of weeks before we moved to a new town in France. We had such a wonderful time. The owners, Odile and Chris, could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. They have a truly beautiful home, set in a charming and tranquil setting. The rooms are all very light and airy and despite being a holiday home, the house has a very homely feel and we felt immediately relaxed and happy there. The Dromes is a lovely region of France and we were lucky to have fantastic weather throughout our stay and so spent most of our time relaxing in or by the pool. I can't recommend this lovely home more highly.
