About this property

Casa da Arga is a fully restored and rebuilt, typical Minho farmhouse built of granite with traditional wooden vaulted ceilings which keep the house wonderfully cool in the summer. Central heating and a traditional wood burning stove keep things warm and cosy in the cooler winter months. The main house has 3 bedrooms while the fourth bedroom is located in the adjacent annex which also has a kitchenette and washing machine, ideal for anyone who prefers a little of their own space. The landscaped gardens are arranged over several terraces giving ample room for play areas, quiet reading corners and car parking. The swimming pool is situated next to the open plan living/kitchen area, accessed by two pairs of double doors and allowing easy supervision of younger guests from either the villa or the terrace.

Beautiful house with fantastic views

A lovely, traditional but very well equipped and modernised house. Situated in a quiet, elevated spot at the edge of the small village of Estoraos, the house enjoys great views, and privacy, but has a friendly and sometimes lively local bar and handy shop only a few minutes walk away.

Beautiful house with great view

Very comfortable, clean and spacious house. The view on the terrace is magnificent. Location is nice, close to the sea and nice villages. The house was spotless clean on arrival. The two café's in the small village are on walking distance. One evening we had a cook at the house (Olga) who made a very nice Portugese meal. We had a nice stay. Some little remarks: wo be nice to have an extra umbrella at the pool for warm and sunny days, as there is not much shade in the garden. The house itself had no curtains or shutters on east and southpart of the house, so it can become warm (we had a few days with high temperatures). But overall: great house to stay!

Magnifique propriété

Très belle propriété conforme aux photos, villa très bien équipé avec une magnifique vue et très belle piscine,La maison est très propre. Nous avons été Très bien accueilli , Il y a deux cafés dans le village, les patrons sont d’une extrême gentillesse. Nous avons beaucoup visiter , Car il y a beaucoup de choses à voir. C’est un pays très accueillant avec de très beaux paysages … ponte de Lima est une ville très belle avec un magnifique marché et je pense n’avoir jamais vu un marché aussi grand, Il y a vraiment tout ce qu’il faut ( pharmacie, cafés, Magasin d’alimentation ...) . Nous étions six et avons passé de superbes vacances,Merci aux propriétaires de la villa, à Sergio et aux femmes de ménage pour leur gentillesse et leurs dévouements ,

Wonderful peaceful place for extended family

We loved the location, close to mountains, the Caminho and the beautiful coast. The house was clean and well equipped, it felt spacious for 6 people and we enjoyed the pool and lovely village close by. Sergio responded to any question quickly and was always helpful. We would definitely recommend it and come back.

I am married with two children and live in the Yorkshire Dales. We enjoy peaceful and uncommercialised holidays with our children where you can let your hair down and totally relax. We enjoy walking our black Labrador and exploring new places.

Why they chose this property

Only 50 mins from Porto airport, the property is in a peaceful village location with amazing views and great access to surrounding historic towns and villages and stunning beaches. The national park is only 20 km away and the panoramic Serra d"Arga mountain range is just to the north so nature lovers and walkers are all well catered for too. Add to this the fact that the region is still very affordable compared to more commercialised destinations and you can't really go wrong!

What makes this property unique

Casa da Arga is a newly rebuilt former farmhouse which has been finished to a very high standard with all the modern facilities you would expect in a holiday villa. All rooms are en-suite and there is also a fabulous large swimming pool with stunning views across the valley. The separate 1 bedroom cottage is also ideal for those who like a bit of their own space.
