It is a great property right on the Rideau lake. They supply paddle boards and kayaks which we fully enjoy using. For us it is also an opportunity to reconnect with family and friends in the area.

thank you. it was a pleasure to host you. enjoy the rest of your summer.
We really enjoyed our stay and are making plans to return next year. We apreciated that the cottage is spacious inside and on a large lot with quiet neighbours right on Big Rideau Lake. The trampoline, kyacks and swimming platform were big hits with our family.
Our family of six adults and two teenage boys rented this cottage for 10 days in June. We were very lucky and had wonderful weather with warm days, and cool nights. One of our nights was quite warm and the ceiling fans came in very handy. The water was cool for swimming when we first arrived but was great later in the week. Having all the kayaks, paddle boards and row boat was fantastic. We used both the small beach area to wade in and the dock and raft while swimming. There were so many water and lawn toys that we were outdoors playing a lot. The trampoline was well used!!! And of course we had s'mores cooked on the evening campfire. There was lots of wildlife, deer, birds and bunnies, and the wonderful sound of the loons in the evening. The several outdoor decks, including one on the waters edge were well used.
Indoors the cottage was very well equipped in all ways. The kitchen had everything we needed for large family meals. The layout with several sitting areas meant that there were places to gather and corners to have a quiet getaway if needed. We used all the bedrooms, and having the one large family room with three beds was helpful. There are only two showers, but we managed well with them.
The cottage consists of an old rustic cabin and modern addition, and they worked well together, with both a cozy comfy feeling and a bright airy area. Sunrise in the morning was delightful on the front deck. It is situated on a beautiful stretch of the Big Rideau Lake with wonderful bays and islands to explore. We also explored both Perth and Smiths Fallls, and had a wonderful time.
When we were leaving, my daughter simply said, "Can we book this place again?" To me that's a great review! Very pleased with our stay here.
We had a very pleasant weekend. The cottage was well equipped and very very clean. We enjoyed kayaking, the trampoline, swimming, BBQing and campfires.

You enjoyed all we have to offer. Glad you had a good time.
This cottage is perfect. It has everything you need. We literally kept on finding things in the kitchen and were surprised that EVERYTHING was available! The cottage has a lot of character and we absolutely loved it. It has been in the family for a long time and you can feel the love and life in every single thing inside.
The outside area is amazing. Huge yard with grass for kids to run around, and a trampoline that was a big hit with our 3 kids.
The owner was great and provided all the information and was very easy to communicate.
We recommend this cottage to everyone who wants to have a fantastic time away from home!
Thank you Cathy, we can't wait to go back.

Glad you had a good holiday. Love to have returning guests. Renting next year is certainly a possibility.
We had a nice time in Perth. The house was nice, kitchen is small, but everything is very private. There is no swim dock and we wish that was communicated before we went. There is also no A/C so thankfully there were fans but it was still hot. We had a great time though.

Excellent Family Reunion
We had a family reunion at this cottage and it was absolutely perfect. It's even nicer than the photos would indicate - very private with a great "cottage atmosphere". Plenty of room to move around, both inside and out, and the views of the Rideau River out the front windows and outdoor deck are second to none. The kitchen is fully stocked with plenty of appliances, cutlery and cooking pots. Everything was in top working order. The kids loved playing on the trampoline and swings. We would love to come back and enjoy it during the summer months when the swimming would be another great asset.

It was a perfect spot for a family holiday with lots of space inside and nature all around outside.
The cottage has a lovely homey feel and lots of room for different activities. The trampoline was a big hit with all age groups and a special play was performed in it the last nite.
A lot of time was spent in the water canoeing, rowing, kayaking and swimming to the raft or island. It is a wonderful spot for adventures, visiting painted turtles and spotting osprey or loons. Murpheys Point provincial park is free this year and seeing a rat snake was a thrill for my 11 yr. old grandson.
The cottage is well equipped for cooking and games and provided an ideal setting for a memorable family vacation. Lucky for us the weather was perfect and the cottage is close enough to Ottawa for two 20 ish grandsons to join us several nights.

The perfect cottage
We had the best week at this cottage. We had 5 adults and 3 children- 2 babies and one 4 year old. The cottage was perfect and had everything we needed. With a close drive to Perth, any groceries etc, were quickly accessible. The owner was so welcoming. We would definitely try to book this cottage again for our next stay in the Perth area.

About the host
Hosted by Cathy Ireland
I have been coming to this property 60 years. Many additions and embellishments have been added over the years but the lake remains the same. It is my favourite place and that of my children and now grandchildren.
Why they chose this property
Rideau Lake is part of the Kingston/Ottawa waterway. It is considered one of the important lakes in Ontario. The lake is clean and well stocked with fish. Rideau Ferry marina is about 4 km away by water.
What makes this property unique
Cottage is within 10 ft of the water. Shoreline and lake have a sandy bottom. Entry deepens very gradually End of the dock is about 4 ft deep I in early season.
