Charming cottage in a lovely village. Perfect for a short break away from it all though local to shops if you need them. Excellent pub across the road if you fancy a drink with the locals or a pub meal
Gorgeous cottage, home from home, with everything you need, in lovely location.
Character cottage, converted barn. A low beam along one side in the bathroom and bedroom, Very homely, nicely decorated and very clean. Will visit again.
What a lovely cottage. It's spacious and has everything that you could need. We loved staying here for our two night get-away, wished we could have stayed longer! Thanks for the friendly welcome too.
We were warmly greeted by host Mary and husband Justin. The cottage was perfect for our five day stay to unwind and to sightsee.
Everything was spotlessly clean, the lounge and bed very comfortable, and all necessary utensils etc were on hand.
We enjoyed a delightful celebratory dinner over the road at The Blinking Owl Pub.
Would recommend the cottage to any couple wanting to stay in this area.

Thank you for your review. We look forward to welcoming you back to Herrieffs Cottage.
My husband and I stayed at Mary‘s Cottage for 8 nights with our dog.
The cottage is well established and Mary as well as her family are very hospitable.
From the little village you have plenty of walking routes, which our dog and we enjoyed much.
Thanks for having us and we will definitely come back soon!
Booking was very straightforward. Very clear directions, parking right by front door. The cottage was perfect- well equipped kitchen and superb spacious sitting room. Bedroom and en-suite excellent. All very well decorated. Clearly a lot of thought and good taste had gone into it. The village itself was a delight. Wholeheartedly recommend

Thank you for your review Ian. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and it was a pleasure to meet you both and your dogs!! I hope the play went well !
We throughly enjoyed our holiday in the cotswolds, but coming home each day to the beautiful Herriffes Cottage was the icing on the cake! A beautifully converted cottage with so much space where every gizmo and gadget has been thought of. Mary and Justin were wonderful and on hand to help if needed but always respectful of your privacy.
We spent ages trawling the Internet to find a cottage, so let me save you the bother, set in a lovely peaceful village, with friendly locals, fabulous owners and the comfiest cottage we have ever found Herrieffs Cottage has to be the one, just book it now.....you won't be disappointed!

Thank you for your very kind words. We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. You were wonderful guests and we enjoyed meeting you both!
A fortnight stay in this lovely cottage, we probably stay longer than your average guest. So a change of towels and sheets would have been nice. Parking outside the cottage or on the road is available. The cottage is quiet, warm (maybe a little too warm in the summer) especially in the bedroom. I am 5ft 4inches and the bedroom and bathroom beams in the ceiling are very low for me, so be warned if you are tall. The mattress is very soft and not for anyone with any back issues. The kitchen has all the equipment you may require, but a simple welcome pack may be nice (like milk) as the nearest shop is five miles away. The cottage information was very brief and the restaurants and pubs outdated as a number of them had closed a few years ago. A refresh of this In for some would be helpful, with some local tourist information would be a nice touch. The area is full of great places to visit, and there are some lovely walks just outside the door, so a great place to visit.

About the host
Hosted by Mary Bentley
My husband, children and I moved to this area from London 21 years ago. Herrieff's Cottage is an old coach house which was part of Herrieff's Farm. The farm is no longer a working farm but we live at the farmhouse which is located on the other side of the gate. We pride ourselves on offering personal service to all our guests and are always nearby to offer help or assistance, if needed! We look forward to welcoming you to Herrieff's Cottage and please contact us if you have any queries.
Why they chose this property
We moved here from London primarily because our eldest child was due to start school and the time to move would never be easy after that. This is a great location with ease of access to the M40 which gets us to London in an hour and connects us with friends and family all over the country. We enjoy the peace and quiet of village life. We are surrounded by public footpaths and can walk for miles with the children and the dogs!
What makes this property unique
This is a deceptively large one bedroom cottage in a quiet, peaceful village with acres of public footpaths on the doorstep.
