Spacious Gite with Large Private Swimming Pool

This refurbished gite is a great place to relax with friends and family amidst an elegant French country ambiance. The gite makes a perfect hideaway for a romantic break or a luxurious self catering holiday for up to 6 people.

The private drive leads to the gite, and beyond to a barn, in front of which is ample parking. The property offers very spacious open plan living. It is well appointed and comprises a fully equipped kitchen and dining area with seating for up to eight persons. There is a gas oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine a larder cupboard with general store cupboard ingredients, iron and ironing board. The large comfortable lounge has views to the beautiful garden and pool area. There are two 3 seater sofas, armchairs and occasional tables with lamps, large flat screen satellite TV (English), DVD, video, stereo CD player, WiFi access, games and books. In the lounge, for the cooler winter months there is a Woodburning stove. There is also a library of over 150 dvd's with all the latest films. Patio doors from the lounge open to the pool area. Also from the lounge there is a staircase going down to 3 double bedrooms (1 with king double bed and 2 with twin beds). The master bedroom has French doors opening on to a secluded private garden with views to Monclar and the surrounding hills. Bed linen and towels are provided, but not pool towels. There is a large bathroom with walk-in shower/wet room, wc and wash hand basin.

There is a charcoal barbecue with tools etc. Sun loungers, tables and brollies.

We offer a tranquil setting ideal for relaxation. The private pool is refreshing on a hot summer day and the surrounding terrace is perfect for relaxing and sunbathing.

Within a short drive of the gite you can enjoy some of the pretty Bastide villages such as Monpazier, Eymet, Monflanquin, visiting their squares and Chateaus and weekly markets with wonderful displays of the local produce.

This is a region rich in flavour, with many restaurants. Discover the beautiful products of the South West.

Situated in the South West of France the area is renowned for its outstanding beauty, history and cultural heritage, as well as it superior wines and culinary delights.

Within a short drive you can paddle a canoe down the river, take part in vineyard tours and visit different farmers markets every day of the week. You can also hire bicycles on a daily basis in the village at reasonable rates.

A table tennis table is provided for your enjoyment.

Travel: Bordeaux Airport is one and a half hours away, as is Toulouse.

Bergerac is only 45 minutes drive and low costs airlines such as Ryanair operate from many UK airports.

We, Helen and Peter, will meet and greet you upon your Saturday arrival. A folder with a variety of recommendations and operating instructions is available to help you enjoy your stay.

A beautiful gite in a perfect setting

The booking process was quick and easy, the owners responded within hours of us submitting a question and answers were clear and concise. The instructions to "check in" were clear and the address took us straight to the front gates. When we arrived, the owners were there to greet us and show us around. They were so welcoming and helpful, and since they knew the area so well (as we didn't) they were able to point out plenty of things to do (or not to do). It was comforting that they were close enough should we need anything, but we weren't shadowed by them in anyway. The house feels more spacious than we'd thought. The kitchen is well appointed and the lounge is very comfortable. The master bed is spacious and airy, and the two other rooms (twins) were also well designed and a very comfortable size. The bathroom is large, with a huge shower, good sized sink, and heated towel rail. The pool was (and we cannot stress this enough) the cleanest, most well maintained pool I've ever seen. No chemical smell, crystal clear water, everything was in perfect repair it could have been built weeks before we arrived! Plenty of pool side loungers and space to relax. The pool was large so plenty of room to splash about and deep enough at the deep end. The grounds were also immaculate and well cared for, and despite the very hot and dry weather, the garden was lush and still in bloom (mid-late Sept). The location puts you around 30-40 mins from a main motorway, and 15 mins from modest size towns. Larger towns are around 45 mins with the two main cities (Bordeaux and Toulouse) around 90 mins and 2hrs respectively. There is a lot to do in terms of outdoor activities (canoe / biking) and Châteauxs, churches and gardens etc. to visit. The small historic towns are the highlight of the local area and this gite is perfectly situated for these visits. Overall, I cannot thank the owners enough for what was a magical honeymoon. They were welcoming, friendly, and were so accommodating, with the gite being as wonderful as it was, it really was a perfect end to the summer for us. Thank you again.

Fantastic Gite and hosts

The property was excellent as were the hosts Helen and Peter. They could not do enough to ensure that we settled in and were aware of comfortable. The information on the gite and how it worked was comprehensive. The gite is very well maintained with excellent facilities. The pool was superb and Peter cleaned it every morning. We had a fantastic time and cannot fault the gite in any way. Thankyou Helen and Peter for mking us feel so welcome.

Propriété calme. Maison spacieuse, agréable et propre. Grande piscine bien entretenue, tout comme le jardin. Propriétaires adorables et discrets, qui ont su être réactifs et efficaces face au problème d'humidité malheureusement apparu dans une chambre au rdc (pb réglé). Location très agréable

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans la charmante location d’Helen et Peter . La pièce de vie est très agréable , joliment aménagée. L’espace couchage à l’étage inférieur est un plus pour profiter d’un peu de fraîcheur pour la nuit . La piscine est absolument fantastique pour les enfants qui se sont éclatés! A truly fabulous gite in a great location

This gite is a real gem! We've just enjoyed two wonderful weeks and loved it so much we've booked to go back next year! Peter and Helen are wonderful hosts and were so welcoming. Whilst they live on site the property is very private - you'd hardly know they are there. Everything about the gite is inviting. The open plan living upstairs is great for families and the bedrooms downstairs are beautifully cool on warm evenings. The pool is a fantastic size (12 x 6m) and great to chill out by after mornings exploring the many Bastide towns in the area. We can't wait to go back next year and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a fabulous place to stay with so much to see and do on the doorstep. Check it out. You won't be disappointed!

Excellent

Helen and Peter were wonderful hosts. We really enjoyed meeting them together with Helen's delightful parents. It was so nice to be in such a bright, spacious, sparkling clean, well equipped house in it's beautiful garden. We enjoyed playing table tennis, walking in to the village of St Monclar, and the excellent market in Issigeac. We stayed for nine nights and would love to have stayed for longer. We look forward to returning some time.

A lovely week in this gite

We arrived in the middle of a week's bad weather and had spent the previous 3 days feeling a little cold and damp (inadequate clothing for rare bad weather!). We got to the gite and Peter provided us with lots of kindling, told us to help ourselves to wood and we lit the stove. How wonderful to feel warm and cosy. This is probably an odd start to a review, but we had spent the previous week in a house which was not suitable for chilly weather and having a fire made us very happy. The gite itself is really very nice. Perfectly equipped and very comfortable and renovated to a high spec. When the weather picked up we used the pool which is a perfect size. Helen and Peter did not intrude. They came to see us after our first night to see if everything was OK and then we just saw them in passing, and when we went to borrow a memory stick to watch some films. We went walking when the weather was cooler and went to various local towns.We relaxed a lot in the last 4 days when the weather was good and it is a perfect gite to relax in. We aim to go back in early summer for a week doing absolutely nothing. Cath and Clare

An excellent Gite....

We were very impressed with this property. It is a converted barn, with high quality fixtures and fittings - very homely and comfortable, with a plentiful supply of utensils, crockery etc, everything you need. The living area is spacious with kitchen, dining and living all in one - perfect for social or family holiday. All three bedrooms are on the other floor together with the bathroom. Again all to a high standard (especially the shower) and the whole Gite is very clean. Outside you have exclusive use of a 6x12 metre pool, with plenty of other space for dining or kids playing. The area itself is typical French countryside, very open and interspersed with plenty of interesting Bastide towns and villages to visit (and not much traffic). Helen and Pete are on site, but very discreet, you wouldnt know they are there. You can use their local knowledge or stay private, its up to you. All in all one of the better rentals we have had, and we have no hesitation in recommending it to others or going back again if we re-visit the area. Steve & Steph 5th Sept 16

Another lovely stay

Our second visit - we first came here 4 years ago. As we only stayed a week this time, we didn't venture far, just a short drive to the supermarket and outside to the pool. Perfect peace and quiet for us, the pool for the kids and a lovely, very comfortable gite with those fantastically cool downstairs bedrooms too (just amazing, considering the pretty hot temperatures). Just as lovely as we had remembered. Would absolutely recommend for families, as well as couples who would just like a bit of p & q.

No complaints at this Gite! Superb!

We are met at the gate of this marvellous property by Helen and Peter. They show you to the Gite and what do we see , Wow! can it be true, all the photos on the website paint a true picture of this wonderful Gite with marvellous pool. The property is so well cared for, all the fixtures and fittings are top class. Everything in the Gite is so pristine. This has been our 4th time here, when you go you will experience a lovely home with magnificent pool for the length of your stay, together with great help from Helen and Peter should you need it. Helens mum and dad, Wendy and John are real treasures. I can only commend a holiday here to you, lots to do in the area surrounding, we had a great 3 weeks and look forward to returning soon. Wonderful week in France

Just back from a wonderful week in this Gite. We would strongly recommend to anyone looking at the site!. We headed over to France for a family wedding and this location and Gite was a perfect base for our break. The Gite itself was perfect....really well equipped, very spacious, with the marvellous open plan main room a fantastic space for families and socialising. The Pool was also wonderful...a really great size also. we loved it. The owners were also a great help and on hand for all enquiries. would not hesitate recommending this Gite and will be heading back ourselves for a longer break I am sure. Fantastic Gite for outdoor living

We have just returned from a weeks stay in this fantastically appointed Gite. The owners Helen and Peter live in their property which is sited next to the Gite. They both made our family feel really welcome, gave us great advice upon arrival about the local area and the amenities which we needed. For us it was great to have two friendly faces to say hello to throughout the week, equally if it is privacy you are after then both Helen and Peter are the sole of discretion and you wouldn't notice them. The Gite itself is brilliant, an upside down layout means the bedrooms are located on the ground floor, this means they remain nice a cool day and night. The upstairs living area is well laid out with direct access to the pool area. This worked perfectly for us as we could see our young children at all times. The Gite has absolutely you will need for your home from home stay, the kitchen is well stocked with all utensils and essentials. Everything was clean and very well presented. In addition Helen has a great library of DVD's which will cater for everyone including loads of children's films. The pool is for your exclusive use throughout your stay. The pool, surrounding pool area and the gardens are all immaculately maintained, there is ample space for young children to play in a safe and secure environment within the fenced gardens. We spent a fun family week relaxing within the Gite and using the pool, only leaving to go to the supermarket. We would highly recommend a stay at this Gite and will hopefully return at another point in time.

Living life in the slow lane

The house was spotless and well maintained, the garden lovely,Helen and Peter made us very welcome and we barely new they were there. The area was very peaceful and the surrounding villages beautiful, there were many colourful markets particularly in Isseagac on sunday morning and monpazier is lovely.Listen out for the hoop hoop bird you may not see it though.The weather was wonderful we left with great suntans and very rested, we would recommend to others and hope to return sometime
