About this property

Stone Built Villa With Private Pool, Gardens And Mountain Views

Villa Leylek is a stone built villa with open plan lounge and kitchen on the ground floor leading to the sun terrace and pool. Upstairs are two double bedrooms both en suite with balconies facing the pool. In the cool basement are two single beds and a double sofa bed. Again the basement is en suite.
All that you need for your holiday is here. It is a home from home. The villa is air conditioned throughout. Outside in the gardens is the cardak, a traditional turkish raised platform with cushions, for lazing on warm afternoons complete with a hammock. A stone built barbecue, sun beds and private pool complete the recipe for lazy living but, if you do feel energetic take one of the three bicycles that come with the villa to investigate the river path and Dalyan itself.
The area is teeming with wildlife and of course storks in season. Look out for the lizards in the garden and the odd passing tortoise.

Fantastic!
Wow! We had the most fantastic stay at this villa, Richard was fantastic and very helpful. The villa itself is spotlessly clean and clearly very well cared for. It is equipped better than any villa we have stayed in. The area is lovely and quiet, we had the most wonderful stay. We are regular visitors to Dalyan and wouldn't hesitate to book this villa again.

Wonderful holiday - fabulous villa
Cannot say enough good about this villa. It is in a perfect location, a short, flat walk into town, either via the main road or the shady river path. It is on a very quiet residential street, with a beautiful outlook to the mountains. The gardens are beautiful, and the pool is fabulous and spotlessly maintained by an unobtrusive pool man every morning, with plenty of space for the sun lover (him) and nice shady spots (me). Inside the villa is a perfect home from home, with everything you could possibly need, again, spotlessly clean and well looked after. The basement stays lovely and cool, to the point that we didn't even need the air conditioning at night (although it was very good and super useful in the other rooms). Richard was very helpful prior to booking and gave us great information about the villa and the area. We were able to see wild turtles in the river, the beach is beautiful (and a simple journey by boat or bus, or 15 mins in the car, with plentiful and cheap parking) and kept very natural. Dalyan has many bars and restaurants to choose from, all that we tried were of good quality and produced lovely homecooked food, without being at all rowdy or overly crowded. In summary, a lovely holiday in a wonderful villa. Can't wait to go back.

The villa leylek was in a beautiful setting the gardens surrounding the pool are particularly beautiful. It has all you need inside , only a short walk to town although taxi are so cheap and friendly you don’t have to walk. There’s many different places to eat that we were spoilt. Staff are super friendly. We went to beach via the dolmas boat very beautiful river and a stunning beach. Richard was very helpful and provided us with lots of info.

Holiday in June, older family.
We stayed at the villa Leylek for 11 nights with our parents and quite honestly didn't want to go home at the end. Airport transfers were very efficiently arranged at a very reasonable price by Richard. Richard gave us lots of useful information before we arrived which was great. There was milk and bread, butter, water etc there for us when we arrived which was very much appreciated. Very well equipped villa and very spacious with the advantage of all rooms having their own bathroom. We didn't do too much cooking as it was very hot, but everything is there that you need and more, including sharp knives! Dishwasher meant no pot washing for anyone! The back pack and large cool bag were a great idea and kept our drinks and food lovely and cool on the beach. We caught the public boat to the beach and it was 20TL return (about £2.70), a lovely and relaxing way to get to the beach. Swimming pool was cleaned daily and was kept spotlessly clean, lovely size and very cooling on a hot day. We had great fun with Peggy, the giant blow up Pegasus. There is even some snorkle equipment and swimming noodles there for guest use. The garden was beautiful and very well maintained. The bikes were very handy for getting to the shop, especially for carrying the water and we found it cooler to cycle than to walk. We arranged several trips with Kaunos and they were fab, well organised and good value for money. The main town is about 20 minutes walk but taxis are very reasonable at 15 lira from the square (about £2). There is an abundance of places to eat both in the town and along the river and food prices are good for some things such as fish (£5-£6 for Seabass) and a bit more for others such as steak or lamb. Spirits are expensive to buy in the shops (£15-18 for local vodka or gin) so best to buy in duty free before you get there. Wine can be expensive in the restaurants but a local beer will cost about £2. Overall we all had a fantastic holiday and wouldn't hesitate to book this villa again.

We live in England, in the Midlands, and are both retired. Our three sons are grown up with one in Amsterdam, one in Nottingham, and another based in Birmingham. We now spend as much time as we can in Dalyan, having fallen in love with the place on a chance visit twelve years ago.

We chose the villa because of its stone and wood construction, which had a rural feel to it. We also like its relaxing and peaceful location on the edge of the Gulpinar
part of Dalyan.

Why they chose this property

We love Dalyan, the town, friendly locals and its beautiful surroundings. Koycegiz lake, Iztuzu beach and the Dalyan delta offer such a range of scenery and activities that we feel is hard to beat. The great thing about Dalyan is that you can dip in the bustle of the town or relax in the quiet and seclusion of the lake and countryside. It's a beach holiday, if you want, or you can be more active with many outdoor activities, from white water rafting to mountain biking. You can pamper yourself at the local Hammam or in the mudbaths (five minutes across the river from the villa).

As a holiday centre it allows you to make your holiday what you want.

What makes this property unique

Dalyan itself offers a good range of restaurants with the centre fifteen minutes walk from the villa, although the bikes make transport easy and fun. We've tried to equip the villa as a family home and make it feel as such, so that guests are comfortable and away from it all (even though there is wifi for those who must stay in touch).

The garden and pool are private to the villa, with shady trees, banana plants and a traditional Cardak with hammock to laze in. The barbecue gives the opportunity for lazy evening meals, if you want a change from the local restaurants. Try barbecued fresh sea bream or bass from the fish shop in town; grab a glass of your favourite drink and watch the sun go down behind the mountains, a perfect end to the day.
