About this property

Lodge style home on 140 acres. Remote but close to much! Hot Tub, Pets

This property is unique in that it is remote yet near so many places. The master bedroom is downstairs with a private bath, private sitting area with television, king size sleep number bed, and a private deck with a large outdoor hot tub. Four bedrooms are upstairs connected by a common den with huge vaulted ceiling and each bedroom has its own private vaulted ceiling. ( those cuelga are a recent upgrade) Each of those bedrooms has a very comfortable (1) king, (2)queens or (1)double bed. There is a 46 foot screened porch on the front with plenty of sitting room including rocking chairs and a porch swing! There is a large deck off the back dining room as well with a table, chairs and a gas grill. Everything you need to make a perfect getaway in Central KY. The open space and extra-wide interior doors make it easy for wheelchairs. We also have a portable ramp to use for the 2 steps up through the garage into the house if needed. The entire house is very open with extra tall and vaulted ceilings and lots of exposed wood. Spacious kitchen with all amenities you would want. As we are near Shaker Village we have decorated the house with Shaker-style furniture and primitive American decor. This is the perfect place to gather with family or friends and enjoy nature while being close to so much!! The fire pit outside is a guest favorite! After a waiver is signed we can arrange for use of the hot tub and for hiking. We can recommend a great place to fish as well! (our pond unfortunately has NO fish!) You are also invited to stroll up and down the scenic half mile paved driveway.

This is our 2nd stay at Anchorhold Farm/The Lodge. This time we took our adult kids for a long weekend to spend time together, enjoy the bourbon trail, Keeneland and playing games around the big table. Everyone of them said they would return in a heartbeat. You won't find a more beautiful property or accommodations. The large space and bedrooms were comfortable and nicely appointed. We lacked nothing as the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could imagine. Clear starry nights on the back patio and early morning sunrises on the front screened in porch were definitely a highlight for all. Thank you Jamie & Lisa for sharing your slice of heaven with us again, we are grateful for the hospitality and kindness!

Beautiful Mountain Home

We are from Nashville and wanted to stay in the country but near enough to Lexington and Versailles. This property is beautiful and so relaxing for a short getaway. Great back deck views and plenty of hiking around. If you want privacy and quiet this is a great place to stay. Jeff H

Lovely family Christmas

We enjoyed a lovely week at the lodge relaxing, cooking together, hiking, playing games, watching sports & holiday shows. Barely left the property, except to visit the KY castle & distillery, and were quite content! Highly recommend.

Perfect!

This is the second time that we have stayed at the Lodge, and we love everything about it! The views are stunning, it's close enough to everything, but far enough away that you can really enjoy watching the wildlife and nature. The Lodge is so clean, comfortable, and restful. We highly recommend it and hope to stay there again in the future!

Great Farm Getaway

It was a wonderful place for us to visit with our adult children. It is very quiet with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. It is also a great place to stargaze on clear nights. We loved it and would enjoy another trip there.

Some of the bedrooms, and the upstairs bathroom were a bit eccentric, but the view was amazing, the kitchen was well stocked, There were enough lamps, and the furniture was comfortable. There are even enough electrical outlets.

Heavenly Retreat in the Country

Our group of 5 couples thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean, well stocked, and very spacious for our large group. The vistas from the house were breathtaking. Information from the owner about the house and driving instruction were so helpful we never needed to contact for assistance. We would happily return in the future.

Lisa was amazing to work with. The property and house are amazing. Close to Wilmore but seems like miles away. The 2 mile long driveway is amazing!! Would definitely recommend staying here!!

Beautiful views and private setting. Not too far from town. We loved every minute of it.

The owner of this beautiful property is one of the nicest people I have spoken with. She was concerned with our arrival due to weather and checked in until we made it. The house has everything you need to cook or bake. I t amazingly clean. We had a full house and plenty of room for everyone. Mu dog loved running the acres with us while we explored.

Beautiful but remote

Love this property but strongly recommend arriving for first time BEFORE dark. We arrived at 11:30 after UK game. We’re adventurous but a narrow mile long driveway you’ve never driven in pitch dark was crazy. We were imagining dueling banjos!!!!😜FYI it was awesome. Deer, sunrises and sunsets don’t disappoint.

Reunion/Retreat/Refresh

We had seven people and needed all five bedrooms. Our 89 year old matriarch stayed downstairs in the primary and we dubbed her large bathroom the “girls” bathroom. We had plenty of room around the dining table for dining and making Lego Christmas ornaments! The views are spectacular and walking down the hill to the tree line and back is a workout! Great kitchen will all imaginable appliances. We made all meals on site except a Holiday Lunch at Shakertown. The property is clean, but some of the finishes (bathroom tile, faucets) could use a refresh. It’s not a problem at all, but don’t expect it to be like an austere hotel property. We felt at home. We will definitely stay here again.

Post Retirement Relaxing Getaway

My wife and I were looking for a location where we could just get away and relax in a quiet, peaceful environment. I recently retired after Serving 40 years in the military, and we were more than ready for some rest and relaxation. We couldn't be more pleased with our stay here. The lodge-style home was secluded in a peaceful setting with large pastures in front and back, along with plenty of woods. The closest neighbor was 1/2 mile away. We enjoyed setting on the screened-in front porch and watching the sunrise; as well as sitting on the back deck and watching the sunset. Most mornings and evenings there were deer in the fields. The home was very comfortable with all of the amenities we needed to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Since they are pet friendly, we were able to bring along our two small Yorkies and they had a blast playing outside in the wide-open spaces. We were able to do some hiking on the vast expanse of acreage they offered and felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. However, it was only a short 20 minute drive to town for a grocery store or restaurants. All in all it was exactly what we needed and the owners were very pleasant to work with. We hope to be back again and bring some friends with us next time!

Remote place to unwind

The property is as described and pictured. 20 minutes from the Nicholasville (closest town with a wide selection of restaurants and grocery) nestled in the countryside outside of Wilmore. Everything worked great and check in was a breeze.

Heaven on Earth

This was heaven on Earth!!!! The house is located right next to the sky’s on this hill that overlooks valleys on all sides! The utter silence and peaceful sounds of birds chirping was our audio! The house so absolutely PERFECT! More than we can image or use! Every need was met - kitchen- bathrooms- outdoor games- EVERYTHING! Every room was just as welcoming as the first! The views are nothing short of spectacular! We had a family gathering at the house and EVERYONE was in awe!! Just like I said- HEAVEN ON EARTH!!!! Quiet moments in prayer on that porches reset my soul in a busy world!!! Thank you for making this home open to the world!!! It was amazing!!!

Beautiful Kentucky Home

This is a beautiful, large home on a hill with acreage. We visited in March. The three-season room was refreshing on warmer days, and the land was enjoyable to walk with the dogs. The beds were very comfortable, and the home space was very inviting. Communicating with the owners was easy. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Amazing views!

We had such a relaxing trip at this lovely cabin! The views from the hilltop were gorgeous, and we thoroughly enjoyed gazing at the stars while relaxing in the hot tub. Also, this was one of the cleanest homes we have ever rented! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a secluded get-away that is still so close to everything in bourbon country.
