Our stay was wonderful. Tom and Sheila were very welcoming. The home was exceptionally clean. The view and setting were unforgettable. We would love to go back and continue to explore Western Ireland. Tom and Sheila’s home is a very special place.

Amazing views from cottage!

Location is great! We traveled each day to many places.. The cottage has the best view overlooking the ocean, the fields, mountains, it’s breathtaking. I would recommend it highly!!! The owners are most accommodating!! Thank you kindly!!!

A wonderful property with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and amazing sunsets

We spent a wonderful week in this wonderful and clean property. A family of 4 with two young children and 2 dogs. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen has all amenities and the garden/grounds are stunning. You'll struggle to get a better view in County Kerry. Tom & Sheila are great and very helpful hosts. We'd all recommend this property heartily to anyone who wants to spend a week in beautiful County Kerry. Absolute 5 star experience.

Perfect Stay in West Ireland

This was a highlight of our time in Ireland. The cottage was truly off the beaten track yet also close to the cute town of Waterville. The views from the property are invigorating. The family enjoyed strolling the local "roads" while I will forever remember the area for some of the best (hilly) runs I have ever had in my life. Tom was so lovely and really made this a very personal experience. Sheep, Skellig Michel, ruins from centuries ago, and amazing beaches. If going to this area, STAY HERE!

Wonderful Stay

This is a beautiful, cozy house with some impressive finishing—especially the staircase—and a situation atop the hill that provides a permanent panorama of the Kerry coastline. Tom is the warmest of hosts and not only explained the house’s workings in detail, but made day-trip recommendations that were highlights of our trip. My only caution is to be wary of the Skellig Chocolate Factory—there are far too many free samples available! Thank you, Tom.

As we had hoped

We were two couples wanting a west coast experience but within reach of key attractions in Kerry. Tom & Sheila were friendly & obliging. Their house is well presented, clean with an easy to access modern kitchen & laundry. Lots of extra touches. Car required a little out of Waterville but lovely walking areas including to a ring fort - we picked blackberries for our pie at night. The view was beautiful disappearing often as it does, with rolling fog & rain. Great atmosphere!

Wish I could give more then 5 stars!!

The location was perfect. Great views, a lot of places to hike. I can not say enough about our hosts. Our flight was delayed, we did not get to Waterville until almost midnight. The hosts had Coffee, tea and milk for us to have in the morning! Tom came by one day and pulled some potatoes from the garden for us. The house was clean and well equipped for me and my three adult daughters. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms, all perfect. We would absolutely recommend this house! Thank you!!

Irish Charm and Hospitality

Imagine the perfect Irish setting: green hillside to your back, scenic 180 degree ocean view, cool Atlantic breezes, a beautifully renovated farmhouse with a cozy peat fire and the most gracious hosts attending to your every holiday need. Tom and Sheila O’Shea’s Ardkearaugh. Each morning we were greeted with spectacular ocean views and the sounds of sheep in the meadows. The farmhouse is private and secluded, but still convenient to Waterville groceries, pubs and local artisan’s shops. We spent our days exploring the Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula, Valentia Island and soaking up the Irish countryside charm. Tom and Sheila were great hosts giving us tips on sightseeing, shopping (don’t miss the Skelligs Chocolate Factory), and the local history and color. Our every need was attended to including even finding person to take my father birding for the day. We could not imagine a more perfect setting for an Irish holiday—nor better hosts!

A perfect cottage perfectly located

Would highly recommend this property as a place to stay while visiting Waterville and surrounding areas. It is wonderfully located off a small country road with an unexpected and amazing sea view. It has a generously sized front lawn for kids to play ball or to just sit and take in the views. The house was spotlessly clean and well stocked with everything needed for our family of four. Within a short drive of Derrynane and Ballinskelligs beaches this house was a big hit with us all.

Gemütliches Haus mit toller Aussicht

Wir haben uns in dem Häuschen rundum wohl gefühlt! Es war alles da was man brauchte. Toll ausgestattet, unglaublich nette Vermieter und auch viel Platz draußen zum Spielen für die Kinder. Und immer wieder die tolle Aussicht. Rundum empfehlenswert.

Loved our stay

I visited Tom and Sheila's cottage with my family and we had a brilliant week. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need. The view from the front over the Bay is just amazing. Its the sort of view that you could live here for years and never get bored of. There are loads of things to do in the area and Tom and Sheila patiently gave us an excellent rundown of the possibilities. We were never short of things to do. Even the weather was fantastic. Tom and Sheila work hard and go the extra mile to help you enjoy your stay. They really care and I would say their attitude is mirrored by other people in the area who are so welcoming and helpful. The area is spotlessly clean (you rarely see any litter at all) and the small things like signage and information boards demonstrate how hard they work to make this an enjoyable destination for the tourist. I would recommend both the cottage and the location for an excellent holiday.

We loved our Stay ...Tom and Sheila were great hosts and gave us great information on places to see and where to go...The Home was very comfortable with Amazing views and easy access to Beach. The only issue was no internet ...but we ended up playing a lot of cards at night ...so maybe that was a good thing ..Overall excellent experience and would highly recommend it. We definitely would stay here again

Beautiful Country Home!

Amazing views and a perfect distance away from Waterville to make you feel like you're away from it all. The home has been beautifully built/restored by Tom and Shelia and their love of the home shows in every detail. the O'Shea's are wonderful hosts and check in with you to make sure everything to to your liking. Ring of Kerry is right behind the house and is a great road to explore while in Ireland. We loved it!!

A Waterville Wonder with Stunning Views

We spent four amazing nights in Ted and Sheila's beautiful home, and we wished we had booked many more. The views from the front of the house are magnificent, especially as the sun sinks into Ballinskelligs Bay. There are great hikes outside your door-- to Lother Fort, along the Kerry Way, down to the beach, or back into Waterville. With a car, this is a great base to explore the entire Iveragh Pennisula-- the Ring of Kelly, the Skelligs via Portmagee, the Cliffs of Kerry, Killarney National Park, and lots more. The house is perfect for a family and an extended stay. It's well equipped, clean and cozy, and it has three very comfortable bedrooms upstairs. At night, the dark and the quiet provide peaceful sleep. The tap water is delicious, pulling from a deep well, filtered by ancient rocks. Ted and Sheila are terrific hosts with plenty of suggestions about preferred driving routes, supermarkets, restaurants, and local sites. Should we make it back to Kerry County, we would definitely book this lovely gem again.

Das Haus hält was es verspricht und noch mehr ...

Wir sind zwei befreundete Ehepaare (Mitte 50) und haben im Juli 2018 zwei Wochen Urlaub im Haus von Tom und Sheila verbracht. Das Haus ist sehr gepflegt, sauber und mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht und den Aufenthalt angenehm macht. Es hat einen traumhaften Blick über die Bucht und den Ozean und ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen und Ausflüge rund um den "Ring of Kerry". Tom und Sheila sind perfekte Gastgeber, stehen gern mit Rat und Tat zur Seite, wenn man es wünscht. Wir haben uns von Anfang an heimisch und willkommen gefühlt. Wir möchten uns auf diesem Wege auch noch einmal ganz herzlich bei den beiden bedanken und kommen bestimmt auch wieder. Das Haus ist sehr zu empfehlen! Viele Grüße Sabine und Freunde
