Modern Cottage In Traditional Style With Parking On Cathedral Doorstep

12 Church Lane is a recently constructed 2 bedroom semi detached cottage in a position in Ely which is difficult to beat; The cathedral, Bishops Palace, Cromwells House and St Marys parish church are all yards away as are excellent restaurants and pubs.The cottage is fully equipped with quality appliances and is comfortably furnished.An air source heat pump provides underfloor heating which can be adjusted by thermostats in each room....battery storage from solar panels make it eco friendly. There is allocated off road parking for a large car and a private patio garden. There is a spacious entrance hall with w.c. leading onto an open plan lounge/kitchen/dining room with patio doors to the rear. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms; the rear room has a double bed and overlooks the parish church; the front room has a double sofabed and overlooks Ely Cathedral. This can be used as a sitting room or bedroom depending the numbers of those staying. Also upstairs is a family bathroom with shower and w.c. The property has been newly equipped with quality items and provides a very comfortable base from which to explore Ely and surrounding area. We have provided a selection of books, DVDs and board games. The owners live locally and can help with any queries their guests may have.
Ely is a compact ,interesting small city dominated by the wonderful cathedral. There are a variety of events/fairs/exhibitions and concerts over the year...details can be found on visitely.org.uk or the Visit Ely app.Thursdays and Saturdays are market days with many stalls in the city centre. The riverside is also vibrant with numerous places to eat and drink and a huge antique centre...there are rapid train links to Cambridge and London and the station is easily reached on foot.
Ely also has a new Leisure Village with a multiscreen cinema, numerous place to eat and drink and a fantastic sports centre with 25metre pool and very well equipped gym

Beautiful Ely

The house is superbly placed and close to the amazing Cathedral. And sitting by the river beats the seaside any day. We love it and hope to return in the autumn.

Happy stay

The location was fantastic and had a parking space so hardly moved the car all week. Very easy access to public transport. Really nice to find fresh milk and bread butter etc left for us as meant you could have a nice cuppa before visiting the shops ,in Ely for provisions.Nice places in walking distance to eat out too. Would definitely come back

Great location and lovely property

Beautifully presented cottage in a fabulous, central location. Walking distance from the station and only 3 mins walk from the cathedral and the city centre.The property had everything we needed for us to have a relaxing break and the host was very welcoming.We will certainly be returning.

Great accommodation in a prime location.

Modern spacious property in a perfect location to explore all the attractions of Ely. My partner and I attended the Sunday Advent service in the cathedral, which was very close to the property. Would definitely stay again if visiting Ely.

Wonderful Host; Fantastic location

Absolutely perfect stay from the friendly, clear communication, easy check in and warm welcome, to the wonderful location (literally just outside the Cathedral walls) in a friendly neighbourhood with all amenities close by. This comfortable two bedroom suited three adults and was everything we could ask for including lots of local literature and a very comprehensive welcome guide. We would happily stay again when next in Ely! Thank you Andy.

Perfect location in Ely

A wonderfully well equipped cottage with a peaceful and pretty patio. As an added bonus there is a toilet downstairs so no running upstairs to use the loo. This property is very close to the cathedral and a short stroll from the high street. There is also a washing machine and line or rack for drying laundry so helpful when away for an extended amount of time. However both bedrooms are upstairs which could be problematic for anyone with mobility limitations.

Ideally located, well maintained property

We really enjoyed our stay in this modern, well equipped and maintained cottage, located in the historic heart of Ely, in easy walking distance of all the amenities. The owner was very approachable and helpful both before and during our stay. Overall we had a fantastic time exploring Ely and basing ourself out of this lovely and modern property.

Do you like reading on holiday?

This house had excellent reading lights and comfortable sofas. So many holiday cottages are dark, and one of my chief enjoyments on holiday is catching up on some books - this house was ideal!

No.12 is immaculate. Very clean and modern designs throughout. Fabulous location which includes parking. Appreciated that my dog was welcomed with a bowl, towel and treats. Would certainly return.

Area new to us..house in a smashing location and everything as described. Andy is a great host, who communicated well pre and during stay. Enjoyed the cathedral ans took the train to Cambridge which was a great day out. Recommend to explore area. Food at the The Royal Standard pub excellent and great value

Wow! A lovely apt with parking and cute courtyard within steps of Eli Cathedral and easy walking distance to everything else. The kitchen and bath were clean and modern and the WiFi was strong. Thank you for making Church Lane available.

Situation could ne be bettered

A very comfortable, eco house a stone's throw from Ely centre. Everything you could possible need provided and even things you don't NEED like chocolates! Have a guided tour of the cathedral and go to Oliver Cromwell's house - an excellent exhibition. Thank you for a great holiday.

Comfortable attractive modern house in the ancient centre of Ely

We loved our stay here, it’s so well situated in a quiet street just a three minute walk to Ely Cathedral and 10 minutes to the river. And there’s car parking and a sunny courtyard. The house is very well equipped and presented. The church bells of the nearby cathedral and parish church means you’ll probably not get a long lie-in, but we were charmed.

Absolutely perfect

This was our second stay at this lovely and perfectly situated cottage. The place is immaculate, close to the cathedral, pubs, restaurants and market. The cottage is the perfect spot to come home to after a lovely day in Ely. The owner, Andrew, is responsive and answered any question we had. We most definitely will return.

Problems with hot water, but good response from Andrew

The property was as advertised re facilities / location. Needed a good dust and cutlery, pans etc needed to go through the dishwasher. Problems with hot water but Andrew visited 3 times to try and sort, finally had to get an engineer out to help. So whilst it was frustrating, Andrew dealt with the issue as quickly as he could. He also gave us a refund, which was generous of him.
