About Doug Van Steinburg
Hi, we're Doug & Carrol Van Steinburg. Doug is a recently retired Design and Technology teacher and Carrol a retired Vice Principal from the Toronto Board of Education. We have continued our other interests and are very involved. Doug designs and renovates houses and summer homes, while Carrol sells Real Estate in the Toronto market. We have been coming to this part of Florida for family holidays for 30 years and love it as if it were home.
Why Doug Van Steinburg chose Flagler Beach
This location boasts a number of advantages. A beach that is quite often empty, certainly never crowded and runs as far as you can see in either direction. There are no buildings allowed on the ocean side of the A1A so the beach seems to be just for you. Nearby Tomolka Park with it's canals, paths and incredible Jungle is a natural treasure filled with wildlife. Flagler is the kind of town were sand sometimes drifts across the walkway of City Hall. There are no big chain fast food places in sight. The Farmers Market on Fridays is wonderful for buying fresh. Yet a 15-20 minute drive away from town finds all the Big Box shopping you will ever need.
What makes this Apartment unique
We as is our habit, we immediately renovated our brand new condo when we moved in. Unlike the other end unit three bedroom condos here, ours boasts an open kitchen with a custom oak bar counter (just refinished), custom lighting and almost double the cabinet space of the stock model. The kitchen has everything a gourmet cook would want and the walls throughout are decorated with mostly original art of personal significance. We upgrade our appliances and facility consistently. Recently (in the last 3 years) we have added a new HVAC system, new window, blinds, front load washer/dryer, a microwave, as well as a high efficiency dishwasher.
