Apartment near Bagneres de Bigorre, Hautes-Pyrenees, Midi-Pyrenees, France - Peaceful Location With Stunning Mountain Views and shared pool.

This spacious and well appointed apartment is situated in the grange attached to our 18th century farmhouse and set in 1 acre of south facing garden with 10m x 5m shared pool enjoying a wonderful, natural setting with suberb mountain views.

We are situated at the base of the Haute Pyrenees within the village of Cieutat, which has a traditional 'boulangerie' providing freshly made bread/croissants and patisserie every morning.

Gites de Bigorre is the perfect place for whatever event or activity holiday you are planning – or just for total relaxation in a stunning setting.

The apartment is well placed for all mountain activities i.e skiing, cycling, walking at all levels, mountain biking, paragliding, horse riding, bird watching and fishing. For golfers there is a beautiful international 18-hole course (overlooking the mountains) within a 5mins drive. Or take things at a more leisurely pace and visit the local mountain villages, nearby Pau, beautiful St Bertrand de Comminges, a pilgrimage to Lourdes, take a day trip over the mountains into Spain via the many passes or tunnels or visit one of the numerous thermal spas.

The Tour de France is also a big attraction here in July and in the winter there is some of the best skiing and winter sports facilities in the Pyrenees.

The gite benefits from a shared pool in the privacy of the main garden with fantastic panoramic views. The perfect way to end an active day or to simply relax the day away.

Although the gite is very well equipped for self catering there are many bars and restaurants in the nearby spa town of Bagneres de Bigorre.Or in the mature gardens there are stone built barbeques with plenty of seating again affording magnificent views of the mountains.First floor luxury apartment, retaining many original features and comprises of:-

Fabulous time at Gittes de Bigorre in Cieutat

We had a great stay at Gittes de Bigorre in Cieutat. The accommodation was completely as described, the fixtures and fittings are of a high standard and all the utilities you could ask for. The location suited us as the village is very quiet, the local area is staggeringly beautiful and there is so much to do. Kerry made us feel very welcome. If I had to make a small criticism it would be that the internet connection was a bit slow after 17:00. Fabulous time, thank you Kerry and Michael.

Agréable séjour à Cieutat

Nous avons passé 2 semaines dans cet agreable appartement. Bien équipé et fonctionnel nous n'avons manqué de rien. Nous avons eu la chance d'être les seuls locataires lors de notre séjour ce qui nous a permis de profitez pleinement de la piscine. Les propriétaires nous ont accueilli avec bienveillance et nous ont partagé leurs bonnes adresses du coin! Nous recommandons vivement cette location!!!

Perfect place to stay for cycling and walking

A very relaxing area and a perfect base for our stay in France this year. The owners Kerry and Mike are very friendly and helpful. The apartment is ideally situated for cycling, you get a nice warm up before any significant gradients. Both the general area and some of the cols of the Tour de France d'Aspin, Tourmalet, Hautacam etc are within easy reach. All of the local area is easily accessible by road if you want to travel further for walks or other activities. The apartment was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. The pool was a nice place to wind down after a days cycling or walking. Much to recommend.

A real gem!

We spent three wonderful weeks, with our young daughters in this superb part of France. The location was great for visits to nearby villages, further afield for day trips or any of the many markets however we spent many hours around the pool and in the lovely garden. Everything was catered for within the gite and we couldn't have been made more welcome by the all the family. We have already booked for 2016! A super holiday.

Excellent accommodation in a peaceful location.

We had a great week staying in the apartment. It was very clean and had everything we required. Really relaxing sitting in the garden for evening meals next to the fields and the scenery in the area is exceptional. Mike and Kerry were very helpful and suggested some lovely places to visit. We enjoyed going to the mountain passes on the Tour de France route and especially if you enjoy cycling or walking it is a great location. Highly recommended.

Great location, semi rural and quiet, very relaxing surroundings with great views of the mountains. Many different tourist locations to visit within easy reach. Kerry and Michael were both very welcoming, always helpful and with excellent local knowledge and history. The apartment was very clean and well equipped with everything you need. The mountains views from the room and the outside area are wonderful. Overall a lovely spot which I would recommend.

A place to recommend

An excellent place to stay, within easy distance of mountains, tourist sites in the area and outdoor activities. Kerry and Michael were both very friendly and welcoming, always helpful and with good local knowledge. The apartment was very clean and well equipped and the quietness of the surroundings was very welcome. The mountains were very inviting and the local castle (Château) at Mauvezin made an excellent visit on a dull day. Overall had a brilliant holiday, this is a place I would recommend.

Great, relaxing stay

A truly beautiful location and a great base for our stay in France this year. The owners were friendly, welcoming and were only to happy to suggest places for us to visit. The apartment was ideally situated for cycling the cols of the Tour de France for the mad keen cyclist in our family as well as being close to a wide range of different attractions such as rafting, mountain biking, Go Ape style adventures, shopping and sightseeing. The apartment itself was very comfortable, clean and well equipped and we would both recommend it and return ourselves. Thank you to the owners who were great hosts.

Just what we needed, peaceful location with a great view of the mountains. Good location, although quiet it is not isolated and many great places to visit are easy to reach. The accommodation is of a high standard, bright, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Kerry and Mike made us feel very welcome, if we ever return to this region we would definitely stay again.

My wife, 12 year old daughter and I stayed July 2014. We were in the Pyrenees mainly to follow the Tour de France. The apartment is very easy to find, we flew to Bordeaux and hired a car for the 2.5 hour drive. The owners made us feel very welcome and were perfect hosts, being there in case we needed something but letting us just get on with enjoying our holiday. The apartment was immaculate, in fact I've never stayed anywhere as clean. Ideal size for us and equipped with everything you would need. The views of the mountains are stunning and it is ideally located to explore further afield. The pool was ideal for cooling off at the end of three or four very hot days we had. Overall we had a fantastic time and I would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation.

" Would definitely recommend and stay again. Accommodation has a brand new and high quality feel to it in a very beautifully converted barn. The owners are very friendly and helpful, would recommend the food option for the first night of stay. Facilities are all there and anything you forget to bring it's likely you can borrow. Lovely view of the mountains with a countryside experience. For us the location was ideal as it's in the foothills meaning its not too cold or misty or too far from main routes like the A64 giving access to lots of nearby attractions. "

Fantastic Holiday

Upon arrival we were immediately made to feel welcome by the owners who went out of their way to answer any questions regarding the area and amenities. Because of this we feel our holiday was enhanced. We'd made a long journey and had ordered a meal on our first evening. This was of a very high standard and excellent value for money. Highly recommended! The furnishings and beds were all new and very comfortable. The washing facilities were very good and of great help. The pool was ample for our party and very refreshing after our days activities. Although not heated it was quite warm. There was lots to do in the area and you didn't have to travel far to see many different attractions. The golf course was absolutely fabulous and the views breathtaking. We would definitely recommend this venue for a holiday.
