Lovely location above Champoluc village. Winter and Summer location for families and explorers. Four double bedrooms plus spillover sleeping for kids under the eaves. All the traditional charm of a 17th century Italian "rascard" (farmhouse) with modern comforts. South-facing balcony with 180 degree views of mountains and a waterfall offer the special atmosphere of this house. Wood-burning fire and room for all to spread out and play games and cook. Champlan is a small hamlet above Champoluc with a bus outside the door during Winter and Summer season. 5 mins to the town with excellent restaurants and access to three ski lifts which operate for biking and walking in the Summer.

Gorgeous traditional rascard with an incredible view

We had a wonderful 10 night stay at Lo Rascard. It is a cosy traditional cabin with all the mod-cons! The view from the balcolny is spectacular and everchanging with the winter light. It is up the hill from Champoluc, but the free bus stops right outside the house which makes getting around very easy. I would highly recommend this property!

Rascard

A really charming rustic property set in a lovely hamlet above Champoluc with stunning views up either side of the valley. We were a group of 7 and there was sufficient space and bathrooms for all of us. The beds were all really comfortable and the linen and towels were good quality. The kitchen and dining area is perfect for catering for large groups, the house was a great place to come back to after skiing all day. The only down sides for us was that as three groups we had three cars - there is only space for one car which is off site up the road a bit. The other issue was that it is quite a long walk into Champoluc, there is a shortcut beneath the house, but it is quite steep and was covered with ice and snow making it a bit tricky to navigate. Properties of this size and charm are a rare find so we were more than happy to put up with these small inconveniences

Siamo stati ospiti di casa Stevens in agosto 2023. La casa è ben tenuta e ben attrezzata: stoviglie e piccoli elettrodomestici sono quanti ne occorrono e di buona qualità. L’alloggio è arredato con cura e con buon gusto. Il terrazzo, da cui si gode un’ottima vista sulla valle, è molto godibile. Qualche problema se si arriva con più di una macchina, per trovare il posteggio. L’assistenza dell’ incaricato locale è pronta ed efficace.

Nice house in a wonderful place

We stayed at this nice house for a week in late February and went skiing in Champoluc. We had to postpone due to covid and Lydia was very accommodating, all communication with her was very smooth and we very happy to receive her list of tips and recommendations. The house is nice, the kitchen well equipped and the balcony is a bonus on sunny days. We hadn’t realised how low the ceilings and doors were upstairs (where 3 of the 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom are located) so many heads were hit; if you’re a tall family like us, this might not be the place for you. The town is lively, many nice restaurants (make reservations!) and good shops. The skiing is wonderful, nice broad slopes, almost all red. Beware of the “slope with the goat” that you need to take in order to reach the next valley: it’s marked red but is fairly challenging for intermediate skiers.

meravigliosa per una bella vacanza valdostana

Abbiamo trascorso 6 giorni in questa casa da favola, molto spaziosa e comoda, arredata con cura e accessoriata di tutto. Un bellissimo terrazzo offre una spettacolare vista sulla vallata. Posizione molto panoramica e con un comodo sentiero di 500m si raggiunge in pochi minuti a piedi Champoluc. Esperienza superpositiva, che speriamo di poter ripetere, casa consigliatissima. Assistenza sul posto e a distanza con Lydia precisi e veloci.

Great family House

The House is great. Very clean and cosy at the same time. Perfect for the Big family or as we 2 families(7 persons). The beds are really comfortable with great duvets. A lovely comfortable property

We enjoyed a delightful stay at the property. It was well stocked and very comfortable. The open plan downstairs was great to relax in after a day skiing. There are fabulous views from the terrace balcony. It is a little way out of Champoluc, but there are parking options nearby.

Fantastic Chalet in a beautiful setting

We had a fantastic stay at the chalet. Champoluc is an outstanding resort, quant yet full of quality - shops, restaurants, skiing. My favourite resort of the all the one's I've been to. Great chalet with everything we needed: a nice fire, good beds, well stocked kitchen etc and in a great location, stunning scenes of the mountains from the terrace with the bus stop a minutes walk away! Great base for the superb hiking in Val d'Ayas

Lo Rascard was very well suited to our needs, with good sized bedrooms, excellent bathrooms and showers and open plan kitchen dining living room. We made full use of the balcony with the weather good enough to eat their for all bar one evening of our stay, with its fantastic view across the valley. The alpine walking in the valley is top class, with the spectacular backdrop of the glaciers of Monte Rosa. Trails are well marked and in June were virtually empty when alpine fowers are at their peak. I'd have no hesitation recommending Lo Rascard for your summer hiking trip, and I'm sure it's great for skiing too.

We also enjoy wildlife, wilderness mountain air and sunshine. Family with three children and one grand-child.

Why they chose this property

Surrounded by mountains and above the town of Champoluc. The sense of peace is achieved by not being in town whilst still having easy access to the town (by bus or car) for food and excellent restaurants. The view and the sunshine (sunniest part of the valley) plus the homely traditional feel of the property is why we fell in love with it. We believe it is one of the largest and most charming properties in the area. The 180 degree views from the terrace include the Monte Rosa glacier and a stunning waterfall which you can hear from the house during the Summer months.

What makes this property unique

South facing terrace with 180 degree mountain views including the Monte Rosa glacier and a waterfall. Above the village of Champoluc and very sunny. Breakfast at the table outside with Italian coffee is magical.
