Leiden at it‘s best!

We enjoyed a wonderful week in the Leiden area. The flat is fully equipped and close to the city center. The next bus stop with several lines coming by is just one minute away Pont from here. You can have great time in Leiden, Amsterdam, The Hague, and Katwijk at the sea.

Enjoyed our stay

This home was the perfect choice for our family of four. We enjoyed the location and comfort. A convenient walk to the city center and beautiful parks. Large top floor master bedroom with sink. A nice full bath on the second level and a half bath on the ground floor. Be prepared, ALL Homes in Holland have step stairs on both levels. We would recommend this home and highly consider it on our next vacation 🌷

Leiden ist eine äußerst interessante Stadt

Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter hat hervorragend geklappt, er hat sogar die Heizung etwas höher gedreht. Die Ausstattung war ok. Die Treppe zum obersten Schlafzimmer ist sehr gefährlich, sehr steil!!!!!

Großartiger Ort, um die gesamten Niederlande zu "erfahren"

Diese Unterkunft ist wirklich prima. Vermieter Gijs reagiert sofort und ist ein Gastgeber erster Wahl. Die Schlüssel-Lösung per Handy-App ist echt fancy & funktioniert sehr gut. Das Haus am Rande der Leidener Innenstadt ist für Erwachsene überaus geeignet, die mit "schwierigen" niederländischen Treppen umzugehen wissen. Mit Kindern erschienen mir die Treppen etwas riskant. [In den 1. Stock, wo ein Schlafzimmer und das Bad sind, geht es über eine herkömmliche Treppe, wo Kinder keine echte Absicherung haben, rechterhand zu fallen; die Treppe zum 2. Stock benötigt angesichts knapper Stufen Übung. Damit umgehen zu können, geht aber als "Nederlandse street-credibility" durch.] Das Haus ist dicht am Zentrum Leidens, die Umgebung ist sehr ruhig. Mit dem Bus oder zu Fuß bist Du schnell am Leidener Bahnhof, von wo aus Du fix sowohl ans Meer (Katwijk / Nordwijk per Bus), als auch in andere Städte kommst. Ich war dort inzwischen - mit einigem zeitlichen Abstand - zweimal mit meiner Tochter. Einmal im Sommer, einmal, jetzt, im Januar. Perfekt! In diesem Januar war die Heizung gewöhnungsbedürftig, da die von Gijs smart geregelt wird. Das klappte prima. Im Dachgeschoss war es mit der Maximum-Temperatur von 19°C etwas zu kalt, da die Wärme da nicht wirklich ankam. Wir haben es auf jeden Fall sehr genossen.

Leiden holiday

We had a lovely stay in this vrbo. It is close enough to walk into the city centre. Maybe 20-30 minutes depending on your speed. Stairs are a bit steep and very steep as well as curved to top floor so keep in mind if your think that will be an issue for you. It was fine for us and we aged 58-74.

Nettes Haus mit Misslichkeiten

Insgesamt war das Haus selbst geputzt. Die Küchenschränke waren voller angebrochener Lebensmittel inklusive Knoblauchknollen. Sie waren nicht geputzt und rochen. Der Kühlschrank war verschmutzt und pappig. Auch hier lagerten Lebensmittel. die Betten mussten erst überzogen werden mit harter ungebügelter Bettwäsche. Für 3 Erwachsene gab es ein Duschtuch. Die Handtücher waren sehr hart. Das Haus selbst hat eine ganz gute Lage. Wer gut zu Fuß ist, kann in die Stadt laufen. Ansonsten halten die Busse gleich in der Nähe. Parken konnten wir gleich gegenüber dem Haus. Problematisch entwickelte sich die Schlüsselhandhabung. Bei drei Erwachsenen hatte einer dabon den Schlüssel auf dem Smartphone, so dass dieser immer mit zum Haus musste, um die anderen reinzulassen. Diese konnten dann wiederum nicht raus. Eine Anfrage bei NUKI blieb von dort unbeantwortet. Ansonsten wäre auch sinnvoll gewesen die Treppen im Haus näher zu beschreiben. Denn wer etwas unbeweglich ist, schafft es nicht ins Schlafzimmer zu gelangen. Dennoch hatten wir einen schönen Aufenthalt in Leiden. Diese Stadt und das Wetter haben die Misslichkeiten ausgeglichen.

Hi Angela, Thank you for your review. Too bad you did never mention this during your stay and did not give us the opportunity to make your stay more convenient. Regarding the towels, there were absolutely more than one towel. Some food is left indeed and checked. This is to not throw it away and is frequently appreciated by other guests to have some basics. Also the key, we never received a request. Also the house manual tell you there is also a normal key inside which could been used. The stairs might be indeed a bit of a challenge and the bed linnen is indeed provided folded on the beds, so guests are always 100% sure to receive clean bed linnen. Sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay. We will take some of your feedback in consideration to improve. Thank you for that, but would have been appreciated not just to write it in the review afterwards.

Es geht

Für die zwei Übernachtungen geht es. Länger wäre schon nicht gut. Es sind zwar Kleinigkeiten, aber in der Menge kommt alles zusammen: das Bett im 1.OG zwitschert, Heizung singt die ganze Nacht... und und und... Deswegen sage ich, für 2-3 Übernachtungen, für den Preis - passt)

Wat een mooie plek! Marvelous place to stay! Empfehlung hoch 3!

Was für eine »coole location«!!! Wir [meine Tochter & ich] hatten extrem wundervolle Tage in Leiden, in anderen Städten [wie Amsterdam, Den Haag, Rotterdam & Gouda] & Strände [Noordwijk, Katwijk & Scheveningen] waren selbst mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln fix erreichbar. Die NUK-App, die die Tür öffnete & schloss, funktionierte prima. Das Haus liegt in einer extrem ruhigen Nebenstraße, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind fußläufig erreichbar, die Busanbindung ist prima. Die Ausstattung des Hauses hat uns hinlänglich genügt. Klar: ein zugängliches WLAN / WIFI wären ein weiteres Plus gewesen. Kleines Manko: wir wussten nicht, wohin mit dem Abfall. Darum haben wir die Abfallsäcke [mit schlechtem Gewissen] unserem Vermieter hinterlassen. Wer eine coole Unterkunft in den Niederlanden sucht, sollte DIESE Unterkunft SCHWERST in Betracht ziehen. [Diese Beurteilung ist keineswegs gekauft, sondern schwerst ehrlich!!]

Must have a car , Lacking amenities

This apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood. The location is fine if you have a car. It is near a highway. Street parking with a fee. The apartment is not within walking distance of the train station or the main district of Leiden. You need to drive and pay to park to go to the main part of Leiden and/or the train station. Please other reviews about the amount of stairs. This is a three level apartment. There is a large flight of stairs to the second floor which contains the full bathroom and kid's type of room (single and bunk beds). There is another set of winding narrow steps up to the master bedroom. this room has a sink but no toilet. We left our luggage in the living room on the main floor and carried up only our toiletries and next day's change of clothes. Though the owner was very good about responding to emails prior to the stay, was disappointed that there was not much written information in the apartment when we arrived. Most VRBO homes leave information such as nearest grocery stores, recommended local restaurants, how to use appliances, where to take out the trash, etc. The kitchen lacked the basics to make a quick meal at the end of a long day of sightseeing. There is no toaster oven or microwave. There was no strainer, cutting board and other basics. There are no tall glasses only 4 small juice glasses. There was no sponge to wash dishes. The owner promised a hair dryer which was not there when we arrived. She ordered one that was delivered two days into our stay.

Geräumiges Haus mit charm

Wir haben dort mit unseren beiden Jungs, 15 und 17 Jahren ein paar schöne Tage verbracht. Zur Stadt waren es nur ca. 15 Minuten und man war dirket im Zentrum mit vielen Cafes und Restaurants. Das Haus war sauber, die Betten waren angenehm fest, wir haben alle gut geschlafen. Das Bad war neu. Es gab noch ein Gäste WC im Erdgeschoss. Sitzgelegenheit vor dem Fernseher war für uns ausreichend (für fünf wäre es eher knapp gewesen). Die Straße war, obwohl sie sehr eng war, ruhig und man bekam dort gut einen Parkplatz, wenn auch nicht immer vor der Tür. Dann muss man eben ein paar Meter (50 - 100 Meter) gehen, hat uns nicht gestört. Als wir eine Frage hatten, konnten wir den Vermieter anschreiben und haben unmittelbar eine Antwort erhalten, guter Service. Es hat uns gut gefallen.

Cómoda y bonita

Hemos pasado unos días muy buenos en casa de Gijs & Judith. La casa está muy limpia y ordenada así como equipada. El barrio es agradable y en un breve paseo se llega al centro de Leiden.
