Large house perfect for multi-family vacations - TOT #11210
Large, seven-bedroom, two-bath, single-family home on large lot has the conveniences of a neighborhood and the feeling of a secluded mountain home. The rustic house has lots of parking, enough bedrooms for people to spread out, and its dining and living rooms are big enough for large gatherings. There are plenty of activities for people of all ages within walking distance - including a private park/beach - and within a short drive. For security reasons there is video surveillance of the front porch (not the patio) and the driveway.

We really loved the location, the amenities, the spaciousness, and the vintage decor showing the history of the cabin which gives a feel of a home in which our family has made wonderful memories!!!
The cabin is absolutely perfect. The location, the lay out and the overall space is perfect. This is our second time having a big family reunion and once again it did not disappoint. There is a b&b Nextdoor which makes it very convenient to have guests stay there too. The cabin is well stocked and there is everything there one may need.
This is exactly the cabin we hoped to find - plenty of room for all of us to have our space. And the best location! Loved being walking distance to everything!
We had a great stay with this host. Cabin was spacious, clean, welcoming, had all the extras anyone would ever want, including games and puzzles, kitchen utensils, clean and clear fridge, giant washer and dryer, wood for fires, spacious driveway.. and best of all it was a super short delightful 2 block walk to the lake shore! Would recommend this cabin for anyone looking to enjoy the area and surroundings.

Comfortable, cozy and still roomy enough for 16, this was a great rental!
The property is perfect for an informal family oriented vacation. The cabin is excellently stocked, close to the private beach club, and not stuffy. We had a wonderful time!

It's always nice to hear that others enjoy Kyffin Cabin as much as we do! Glad you had a wonderful time.
Our stay at the Kyffin home was a family favorite. We have been vacationing at Lake Tahoe for over 10 years and enjoyed the spacious home. Plenty to do and easy access to Truckee, Tahoe City and surrounding areas. We loved the traditional decor and large front porch and play area. Janet was a gracious host and easy to contact throughout our stay.

Stained sheets are unacceptable. I wish you had contacted me I would have had our cleaning team come out and replace them. All towels and linens are washed with bleach.
I'm glad the rest of your stay was enjoyable.

Thank you - we are very pleased you enjoyed your stay!! And we would love to have you stay with us again.
Great property located on a quiet street yet accessible to everything. Access to beautiful lake front private beach, walkable and appropriate for all ages. We’ve been coming to Tahoe for 50 years and this was a great place to revisit old, and make new, memories.
Kyffin Cabin was a perfect stay for our group. No one had to share a room, the cabin itself was clean, and the location was amazing. The kitchen is modern and amazingly stocked with spices, serving ware, and cookware (including an enviable Pyrex collection!). Water temp and pressure was reliable throughout the trip. Janet was a kind, communicative host and the cabin has a thorough binder full of suggested eats and activities. We’d be delighted to return anytime.

Thank you for your thoughtful review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and would love for you to stay with us agin.
Great time at this property- location is perfect. Loved how clean it was and how well equipped the kitchen was. My only caveat would be if you have an infant or toddler, you’ll need to bring your own crib. This was a hassle for us, but ultimately we made it work.

Hi Kristen,
It was a pleasure having you as a guest in our home. As I mentioned to you prior to check in the reason we don't have baby items is due to ever changing safety standards. However, there are local baby item rental businesses in the area.
We would love to have you back!

My family’s stay at the Kyffin Cabin was wonderful - just the relaxation we all needed. The cabin had plenty of room and was fully stocked. The location was both beautiful and convenient. You can’t beat being walking distance to Sunnyside, Fire Sign and West Shore Market. We made incredible memories…thanks!

So glad you enjoyed your stay! And that you had everything to make your time away memorable.
We have had the best stay here. The house is awesome. So much room, so many spaces to escape to. We loved the “private beach” and all the activities it had to offer kids if all ages. The location was perfect and we had a great day exploring the area on push bikes. Janet couldn’t have done anymore to make our stay more enjoyable.

We always enjoy hearing our guests enjoyed their stay and made some memories.
It is nice that the beach association has the playground for the little ones, volleyball and bocce ball for those a little older, and the picnic areas.
We would love to have you back!

My brother and I have recently taken over the "running" of our family vacation home. We aren't able to visit as often as we'd like so we thought we would open up our home to you. It's good for a home to have people enjoy life in it. We hope you will enjoy your stay and be rested and relaxed when you need to return to "real life". :)
Why they chose this property
Our family fell in love with the charm and location of this home when we first rented it in the early 1960s. When it came up for sale a few years later, we jumped at the opportunity to own it. We have added modern conveniences, but have worked hard to keep the mountain-living look and feel.
What makes this property unique
You’ll be a short walk away from a private park/beach with BBQs, grass areas, bathrooms, a large beach, and a private dock. Walk a little further, and you’ll be at the famous, family-friendly Sunnyside Restaurant, where you can enjoy a view of the lake from the large deck. You’ll also be within walking distance of West Shore Market & Deli, a fun neighborhood store with a coffee bar, craft beer, a wine cellar, gelato, a deli, organic groceries, and more. Also check out Fire Sign Café, famous for it's breakfasts, and West Shore Sports, where you can rent bikes, kayaks, and paddleboards.
Take a short drive to enjoy: • Restaurants, shops, and activities in Tahoe City • Hiking trails around the lake • Skiing and other activities at Palisades Tahoe or Alpine Ski Resort • Rafting down the Truckee River
