In a village 10km away from Rethymnon town, Gonia Village, is the beautiful and romantic stone built house of Ioanna.
Layout of the house:
Ioanna house is a typical stone-built Cretan village house, carefully refurbished and furnished in a traditionally romantic way.
Already from the entrance to the courtyard of the house, one can feel the warm and friendly atmosphere of the house promising beautiful days and friendly afternoons, enjoying Cretan delicacies in the built barbeque, which grills with charcoal. The courtyard of the house has kept the old Cretan style, with the spacious verandah of the first floor becoming one with the courtyard.
Before entering the main house, in the house courtyard, left, you see the private door of the first bedroom, like a separate suite with A/C and two separate beds, which can become one, and its own private WC. Then, as you enter the house, on the ground floor, you see immediately the open-space kitchen and dining- living area. The kitchen is fully equipped and for the colder nights there is fireplace! In the living area there is also a satellite TV and Wi-Fi all around the house. On the ground floor there is a bathroom with shower and two washbasins. In case there are more than 6 people, two more camp beds can accommodate two more people in the area of the living-dining room where there is enough place. Following the stairs, on the first floor there are two more bedrooms and one more WC. One bedroom has A/C and a double bed with sky, which fits perfectly to the romantic style and environment of the house. The other bedroom is a little smaller and the bed size is 130 x 200cm. The veranda of the first floor has a panoramic view to the whole area and the table there, is ideal in case you would like to have your meals or relax in the hammock. As the house is stone-built it is cool in the summer, but fans are provided for the rooms and the areas needed.
