In Salento, a crossroads of ancient peoples and civilizations, in the territory of Carpignano Salentino, the ancient Masseria Mauriani typical example of a fortified farm, welcomes guests with simple elegance.
Until 2013 a little less than a ruin, now revived thanks to a careful restoration project in compliance with the typical features: the contemporary sign intervenes inside where were reorganized the spaces without altering the original volumes; the exterior retains the most authentic taste of surfaces, volumes, materials, looking for a constant dialogue between old and new, between the need to restore and enhance the traces of the past and those to adapt the structure to new lifestyles .
The decor is basic, often custom made. There are also furniture and objects of the Salento from local markets or from the family attic, chosen to harmonize with the colors, shapes and textures in an atmosphere of understated elegance, all carefully chosen for a stay of tranquility, harmony and serenity.
The ancient Tower welcomes guests with the inscription, engraved on the window facing south: It 'GRAN VERTU CA / NOSCERE YOURSELF / 1623. On the ground floor, paved with typical chianche of local stone and dominated by the large stone fireplace, is the living room with kitchen and bathroom; on the top floor, covered by a barrel vault of tufa, the bedroom.
