PLEASE NOTE: The listed price per night is discounted by 10 GBP as an early booking incentive - after the end of February the price will return to normal and a week stay will be 70 GBP more!
A very stylish interior with a mixture of traditional and modern elements, newly decorated throughout and kept very clean and tidy. This first floor apartment is very big (around 120 sq mts) and consists of a large kitchen with a breakfast bar (2 bar stools) and dining table that seats 6 people. You can relax by the wood burning stove in the central lounge area. The largest bedroom (24 sq mts) has a double bed and a double fold-down bed settee and can sleep up to 4 people - the other bedroom has a king size bed with very comfortable orthopaedic mattresses and it would be possible to add an extra single bed meaning the whole apartment could sleep up to 7 and it may be possible to add another single in the lounge area. There is a huge bathroom (16 m2) with large jacuzzi corner bath, separate shower cubicle, toilet and bidet. There is a separate toilet room with wc, urinal and wash basin, next to the door to the garden.
Enjoy our beautiful mature garden, carefully designed with different areas to relax in, separated by trees, shrubs and covering over 1500 square meters. Make use of the portable BBQ, the wood fired bread/pizza oven or open fire pit to sit around and grill famous Czech sausages! And feel free to help yourself from our herb garden to add flavour to your meals. In the garden there is a hammock, hammock chair and yoga swing (we can provide yoga lessons), we also have available bow shooting with adult and children´s bows, blow pipes and for children there is a small tree house, high zip line, climbing wall, plus the kids playground immediately behind the house - where there is also a professional tennis/five aside football court and a few training machines.
You can prepare your meals in the apartment´s big stylish and fully equipped kitchen (32 m2) or walk a few steps to a newly opened little restaurant/pub for a change. A few minutes drive is another village with bars and restaurants where you can sample authentic Czech dishes or a bit further is the nearest town that has a wide selection of restaurants and bars including a Chinese restaurant and pizza bars. Close by is the famous game restaurant at Konopiště Castle where you can try game in season, such as wild boar, roe or red deer, moufflon, hare, etc. We can also provide authentic Czech, Moroccan and Thai cookery lessons/workshops in English language.
PLEASE NOTE: Extra space - there are other rooms and another newly renovated open plan apartment available at extra cost, plus an atmospheric all stone built wine cellar with a vaulted roof that is ideal for get togethers, parties, celebrations, etc.
In the wider area you can immerse yourself in history - just 10 minutes drive away is Konopiště Castle, the elaborately furnished former home of Franz Ferdinand d´Este, the Emperor of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. A little further is Český Štemberk and Jemniště castles, medieval towns (the walled town of Tábor named after the biblical mountain that was the fortified home of the Hussite religious sect), gold mining museums and many picturesque villages as well as other cultural attractions. With Prague being so close, you can do day trips and then escape back to the peace and tranquility of your apartment and our village.
But there is much more to do and all within 10 to 15 minutes drive: Lake Slapy, the enormous recreational lake with clean water swimming, grass & sandy "beaches", water sports (free big water slide, pedalos, paddle-boarding, windsurfing, motorboats, etc), mini golf, segway etc., and cafes, bars and discos. Slapy is a popular venue for course fishing and there is also a small stocked lake within five minutes from us that produces specimen carp.
You can also try kayaking/rafting down one of the most scenic small rivers in CZ where they also rent out mountain bikes, visit an adventure rope park or play golf at a beautiful 45 hole golf park. There are many stables offering horse-riding (you can hack cross country without restrictions if you take care not to damage forests, meadows or farmers crops) or take a carriage ride pulled by the famous Kladruby breed of horses. There is also a squash and an indoor swimming pool nearby, together with massage/spa treatments. Popular are also hot air balloon flights over the lake and lights aircraft flights from a nearby airstrip. For the fans of transport history there are museums of vintage motorcycles and the biggest military/ tank museum to explore.
The Old Stone House apartments are situated in the delightful village surrounded by typical Bohemian countryside of rolling hills, farmland and sprawling forests. The landscape is home to a vast array of flora and fauna – you will see many roe deer in the forests and fields surrounding the village and a short walk away live a herd or rare wild mouflon (a species that looks like a cross between a sheep and goat). The first written record of our village, which has its own coat of arms, dates from 1184 and during the past 800 years it has grown little but today it is connected to the area by buses. Nearby main village provides all necessary backup, including shops (supermarkets, health food shop), restaurants, doctors, hairdressers etc.
